Noted Tks. Jill didn't surprise me that they're Asian as they're a culture
bound to destroy everything that swims or walks the earth..
The justice system sure shows how little respect they have for these
and all beautiful creatures...

$340 each for these glorious creatures' lives and they have the nerve to plead for leniency. Disgusting :(

Screw the fine, only one sentence is appropriate for such crime by these scum and others, death sentence.

Noted, tweeted, tweeted, shared. This is a vicious circle, the poachers need money to take care of their families, those in control aren't doing their jobs. Probably they should clean house, but that would take a lot of work and qualiffied man power. Probably, they don't have enough of either or they wouldn't be in this mess. The one thing I know for sure is we better get this under control while we still have elephants.

Well the Chinese are one of the worst for dealing in Ivory but the fine was not enough for this crime It needs to be much heavier The elephants lives are worth more than $340 That is nothing for a marvellous creature that will become extinct if they dont have more drastic measures soon

Thanks

Kenya certainly sends out a resounding message that it's actually okay to deal in ivory--I doubt if the dead elephants were ever considered at all.
As concerns ivory, I find both China and Kenya low and disgusting. The life of an intelligent, innocent being should not be lost for such rampant greed. The life of even one elephant is too many, the lives of hundreds a year is simply criminal, and the entirety of Kenya should be blamed--it is a national disgrace!
The Chinese men should not have been fined--they should have been hung, drawn and quartered in public display.
Eventually they will run out of elephants--then what will they sell?
Thank you Jill for posting and Philip for forwarding.

no leniency,i hope they cannot pay the joke of a find and rot in prison and then they should never be aloud to enter the country.well at least they got fined, however stricter laws are called for.

"If they fail to pay the fine, the men could face up to six and a half years in jail." I hope they can't come up with the $340.

I'd love to throw all these degenerates involved in a pit of hot flowing lava. This fine is why these poachers always return. PATHETIC.

The fine was not stiff enough for lost of life! They should be jailed for their crime, not just a measly fine! Thanks Jill.
