Thanks for this Jill---I'm glad to see this cooperation between our two countries. This should become more commonplace as the need is so great for the animals.~

The only positive thing I read is India is owning up to the poaching trade. Now, what action is going to be set in place?

Hmmm. Good news I guess, but it also states they've been working on this for 25 years now. From what I'm seeing, poaching and the wildlife trade's worse than ever!! Something a lot more drastic needs to be done, so far talking isn't working. Let's see some REAL ACTION!!! Thanks Jill

""The US and India have worked together on wildlife conservation for over 25 years. We will continue to work together to combat poaching, manage our wildlife resources, improve enforcement capacity, and reduce consumer demand for illegal wildlife products." "

'Reduce consumer demand for illegal wildlife products'???!!!! Ban them utterly with long (and strictly enforced) prison terms for offenders including tourists!!

It's time that the government start outlawing ALL these type of markets that imprison these poor defenseless and endangered species. Have the police or military make a surprise visit to these markets and confiscate all animals. Arrest those having endangered species. And if done often enough these creeps might finally get the message. Trap and endangered species...go to jail.
