Grandmother of York Girl Beaten to Death Has Many Questions

Society & Culture  (tags: child abuse, child neglect, murder )

Darisabel was 2 years old when her mother's boyfriend beat her to death with a video controller. The mother did nothing to stop him. Autopsy showed almost no parts of the toddler's body not traumatized.

How could any mother sit back and watch a man beat her daughter to death. Both of them need the death pentalty for he done it and she done nothing to stop it so both are guilty. If this would have been my daughter no way for they would be putting him 8 foot under for the other 2 feet I would stomp him down more. My child is more to me than any man here on this earth, if anybody hurts her they have me to deal with or my grandchildern. Thanks Nancy noted

Although I'm sure many find it depressing . . .

Nancy, I cannot thank you enough for bringing these stories to the attention of our readers.

The only thing I can think of that could be worse than the brutal killing of a child -- is that it would go unnoticed.

Nancy,Thank You so much for this and the other links I know of these things from experience. My ex-husband was an abuser of the worse kind. Addicted to
porn and thought it was perfectly alright to subject myself and worse our son.
My son ended up with a warped view of things and is now serving time till 2013. No,he did not touch anyone but had taken questionable pictures of his daughter.Long story I will never be able to see her again. I am not permitted.

Last year in Pennsylvania there were 46 children who died from child abuse!!
Times that by how many states we have & you get a rough idea of how widespread this problem is.......

Education through the schools is the most effective remedy I can think of. Parenting classes need to be mandantory from kindergartden through 12th grade to make a dent in this problem........Education will not stop all these cases but surely will cut in half the number of children who die at the hands of immature & ill educated parents!!!!!!!!

For our survival.....Plant trees for life.................

I started to post my comment and was overwhelmed with sadness, then anger. Why do people think enforced birth control is a bad thing? Would you like to drive on the streets if no one had a driver's license? No, it's dangerous enough out there as it is. Well bringing a life into the world is a huge responsibility too and we have a chance save innocents from torture and death but don't use it because procreating is a "God given right." Well, it's not. It's the biggest and longest job anyone can ever have and should be treated as such. It's time for humans to start using that giant brain or we may lose our top place on the planet. Hmmm. Perhaps not a bad idea.

Clara.....I agree 100%........And thank you so much for a really common sense statement!!

Perhaps if more kept the following in mind they indeed would love the children they do have:

~I Never Knew~~

I never knew my life would be so

complete in the middle of such chaos.

I never knew I could love like that.

I never knew I could hurt like that.

I never knew I could worry like that.

I never knew I could be that proud.

People always warned me that my life
would change so much with the entrance
of my children. What they forgot to tell me
it would change more with their departure
toward their own lives.

Sadly and angrily noted. I can think for the life of me why people could hurt children. My children are my garden. Thank you my dear friend Nancy for exposing this. What angers me is that the mother did nothing. I hope she and her boyfriend get their a**es kickedin jail and no one does anything.
I think it is time to enforce birthcontrol. I live in a neighborhood in Brooklyn where the teen girls are popping out babies, and I am not exaggerating. My teen girl is 13 and I am so glad we are so close. She sees the pregnant teens and the teen mothers and we talk about it. I talk to her about everything because if I don't the streets will.

There's been an updated article on the ABC WHTM website in which this article was posted from: "D.A. May Seek Death Penalty in Beating Death of Child"
http://www.whtm.com/news/stories/0408/510729.html
This article was published at approximately 5 p.m. 4/11/08.

The D.A. on the case states that he will make his decision after this killer has his prelim. hearing. He's also looking into whether he can charge the mom with homicide. She's currently in prison on child endangerment charges (this is what confuses me: how did she end up in prison already? Do they really mean jail? When did this murder happen?) This article specifically reads that the mom heard what was going on (at time of incident), but did nothing. WOW! I DEFINITELY would've risked my life - if that's what it took - to protect my little girl from such atrocious, non-sensical, abhorrous, horrendous abuse, such as what that little 2 year old girl endured!
This latest article includes another pic. of the beautiful little tot. Only evil could hurt someone / something so beautiful! I just wish I could hug her, & give her the love she so deserves; but, it's impossible for me to ever be able to do such a thing now, isn't it? She's in God's arems now, & I'm positive he's giving her this love - & then some.

May you rest in peace, Darisabel.

Horiffic! This is so terrible and unnecessary. As a grandmother myself I can't even imagine the agony that Mrs. Torres is suffering. Darisabel at east is safe now with God, but it's her loved ones that must suffer now.

I feel bad for the Grandmother... as one I understand what she must be going thru..everyone is divastated by this .. but the ones that did it.. how come they have babys anyhow.. its a shame...

26-year-old Harve Johnson is much bigger strong looking man & the one that lashed out in a fit & killed little Darisabel and he is well old enough to know better! As for the young mother I don't know if she was being abused by that creep herself or not, but still I am shocked that her instincts did not kick in for her to at least try to stop him in time, but I do not know enough about what was going on to say that someone who did not respond in time should get the death penalty along with the actual murderer who commited this atrocity to just beat a little two year old born of another man to death! (It is wreckless endangerment though, so it seems so far they have the right charges just from what we can see so far). The stepfather on the other hand is clearly a cold blooded baby killer & they should throw the book at him. The poor grandmother has lost her grand-baby & her daughter, because this big adult man, thinks he is tough to beat a little baby girl.

To yous who are suggesting / agreeing that the right to bear a child be given to us (by government?): Are yous absolutely insane!?! And how would that be done? I mean, what criteria would decide if you could, or couldn't? Let's not forget: there have been moms who seemed to be "perfect" who have also committed the horrible deed of cold-blooded murder against there children. Our government already has most of our rights; so much, to the point, that we (U.S.) are looking more & more communist.....
I do wonder, however: where was CPS when needed? They were probably busy taking children from homes in which were of absolutely NO danger.

Sadly noted. A lot of similar cases apear al over the world. Severe charges are needed. Children are angels.

OMG! A big grown black man in his late twenties got a young teen Hispanic Girl undoubtedly under his control & she may have right well got terrified of him but he is the one lashed out and killed her baby by another man, brutally and now people want the girl fried for not stopping him good enough and other people's family planning restricted? Why not just try punishing the brutal heinous child killer who is the monster that for a fact did it, instead of blaming everything & everybody else for him! This family has suffered enough. Let the KILLER pay the price!
He killed her Baby! Poor Grandmother too!
