How wonderful, normally women with cancer would have to pay for help around the house and you can be sure that is not covered by insurance, not even "in home" long term care insurance; which is far too expensive for the average American any way.

Kudos to these women who join together to support their sisters in need.

So glad you found this and sent it along to us. Women tend to be the ones to help and take care of others when they are sick or unable to take care of their homes. Is nice to see a service that will help women who can not afford to pay for a cleaning service but still require the help.

I agree with Kit, in gratitude to those who offer of themselves in service to others. If we all did this to those around us, what a better world we would find ourselves in.

thank you dear Carole, how wonderful! Wish I could also profit from that, instead I am actually doing that job myself at my mom's place in addition to being her nurse and caregiver 24/7...

I understand, Angelika. That's one of the reasons I was so pleased when my friend emailed this to me.

So often, when the afflicted person has loving family to help, they do so out of love and genuine caring, but in reality, their own lives are already full of work, and taking care of their own families . . . and fitting in a little time just for their own relaxation and renewal. And then, there are those who are alone.

This (housekeeping) was an aspect I'd not heard of any nonprofit organization undertaking. There are home care givers, and meal providers . . . but cleanliness was considered to be a luxury, I guess.

Thanks Carole. It feels so good to know that there are humans on this planet. I have some good friends, and they are really good but pretty often I get scared that this world is just filled with monsters and psychopaths. I guess too much time on Care2 and Facebook.

A truly wonderful organization. Years ago I was in an oncology ward and my room mate was a woman having treatment for cancer of the spine and it had progressed throughout her body. She told me the worst part was the loneliness she felt as her friends fell away... didn't know how to talk to her or react to her. Evidently her friends weren't very true friends. So I applaud this organization and to any and all who reach out to help others in any way shape or form. We are here to do this journey together. If we were meant to do it alone our creator would have made only one of us.

As a matter of fact, I'm going to post this in the lounge at the school where I am at...and encourage others to promote this. This is truly a blessing for those friends in need. Gotta tell you I went through surgery for a lump, thank the Lord it wasn't Cancer, but I found it on Thanksgiving right after my dad died!!!

Sadly I don't check my breast to much anymore...Get site!

I think this is a great idea. I just wish they had something available for women like me who have a chronic illnes for which there is no cure. Most of the time it's all I can do to keep up with the dishes, because of the chronic pain have 24/7.
