Stop Fake "Food Safety" Bills, S.510/S.3767 -- URGENT ACTION NEEDED!

Health & Wellness  (tags: s.510/3767, Food Safety, congress, organic farming )

- 2801 days ago -
For more than a year, the plan to capture - and kill - clean, local, organic, independent and safe farming has been wending its way through Congress. Last year, the devastating HR 1279 passed although we put up a good battle, delaying it . . .

this is crazy stuff
last year artisanal cheese makers had to throw away ton's of there cheese here in Canada because of a stupid agriculture law, the cheese makers brought it to court and won.
But sadly some of them went bankrupt and had no means to start over, In France you eave all these farms that do make there own cheese its been done for centuries.

When a man invest is time energy and passion to create a great product not only doe he contribute to society in a healty way he as to be proud for finding is calling in life.

So to all the bio growers heres a tip of the hat to when do we eat!

Obama's Executive Order #13544 lays the legal framework for giving the UN complete control over all food, vitamins, and natural products sold in the U.S. [The UN authority is called Codex Alimentarius. Remember that name because it soon will control your life and health – unless, of course, we get out of the UN.]
Rense 2010 Sep 13

The US Is Adopting Codex Alimentarius
From Patrick Jordan
Hello Everybody,

Here is another thing that Dr. Carley sent to me and I am passing along. This seems like the Other Shoe that dropped during the Oil Spill.

Here is the Executive Order #13544

I am saddened to say that on June 10th, 2010, Obama signed Executive Order #13544 which mandates that the US is adopting Codex Alimentarius. This legislation, *originating from the United Nations*, in effect, begins a worldwide campaign for massive hunger and starvation. We fought them for 5 years and defeated them in Congress each year. We also assisted Canada over those years and were successful in defeating C.A. in Canada too. As of today, I do not know what has happened in Canada regarding this dire situation.

Now, with a stroke of a pen, and quietly behind the scenes when everyone was focused on the Gulf Oil Spill, he effectively launched Codex Alimentarius in the US, which is intended to bring ALL vitamin and mineral supplements and natural health remedies and technologies to an end. The CDC and the HHS *can now make illegal*, all alternative health remedies and technologies. This bill renders all alternative health remedies "unscientific" and not provable by the FDA. This legislation is a huge step in population control, giving the pharmaceuticals full control over the health of all individuals, which is what the global socialists have wanted for years.

Look up the Executive Order and read it for yourself. But use and not Google. Google keeps records of your inquiries and sends all your inquiries to the NSA. does not.

Dr. Rima Laibow, MD

Hi Jeff...

There is a good deal of internet chatter, including a piece on your site, which states that the June 10 Executive Order #13544 implements Codex and
S. 510.

It does not. What it does is position the government to strengthen the Uber Cartel's assault on us with forced vaccines and drugs as attempts to PREVENT disease when, in fact, we realize well, it is actually CREATING disease and, of course, profit.

Here is our take on this bad idea: We published this piece almost immediately after this EO was signed. There is, as far as a very careful analysis shows, no truth to either Peterson's or Jordan's interpretation of that E.O.

Sadly there are those that likely believe the hype that cons so many that the way forward is GM foods and factory farming of animals to the point of total deprivation of natural activity! Those that propagate these ideas are of course those same type of people that have suppressed global warming information and alternative energy sources in preference to the dirty energies of coal, oil and the like. Their motto appearing to be a quick buck in the muck as long as I don't get dirty! The linkage between politicians and these greedy people is all too often woven from dollar bills!

it is so crazy to see what decisions are made in the usa that effect the whole world. by killing the small farms they are promoting more and more gmo which means more power to monsanto which makes it easier and easier to put pressure on the rest of the world and to contaminate the rest of the world. gmo should be considered a crime against humanity for all those who conciously promote it.

Signed and noted. As a side note, after reading Executive Order #13544 I cannot see where it allows the adoption of Codex Alimentarius. Perhaps I am being naive but this executive order seems to me to be very like what President JF Kennedy sought. To educate and promote healthy lifestyles with exercise. This was education, not enforcement. I see nothing in the order that promotes mandatory anything, just education. I am very opposed to GMO food, Big Pharma and the like. I believe factory farming must be strictly regulated so that health, safety and humane treatment of animals is required, inspected and enforced. I'd like to see factory farms outlawed but that won't happen. We need to support organic and small farmers with our local purchases. We can make a difference with our pocketbooks. And I firmly believe in herbal remedies after studying herbs for years, growing and harvesting them and making my own tinctures, teas and poultices.
Thanks Carole for bringing this petition to our notice.

Saturday September 18, 2010, 4:46 pm
Wow! This was a real eye opener! I thought this was so we wouldn't get outbreaks of E.Coli, food poisoning, etc. Or is that another bill? We definately need local and organic farms! definately against GMO tinkering with our food sources.Would rather wash the dirt and bugs off natural veggies, than ingest some weird frankenfood combo disguised as an "apple"(trademark),"corn"(trademark), "green bean"(trademark), "bell pepper"(trademark). You get the idea.

Noted, Signed and sent to all...Thanks Just. NO GMO's.......we can't keep doing things that put the balance of nature and our earth in danger. We have to start taking steps to ensure the safety of our planet, eco system and All life that reside on it. Why can't we leave natures perfection alone, I personally don't want to use, purchase or consume anything genetically modified, or chemically poisoned. It should made a law, to have it on the label, I want to know. We will all pay, and are already, for all this money hungry arrogance, make more, make it faster, make it bigger nonsense. Scary stuff...all the modifying of everything! If we keep going, we will never be able to get back to truly natural, and we'll be modified.

Thanks a miiion Carol. I signed and now will write President Obama. This really gets me when they say vitamins have never been regulatd and they do not know if in the long run it can hurt people.

Well I sure can tell them. I have been taking them for 53 years without one day of coverage and it has made a sickly woman of 30 into a very healthy 83 year old woman. I would challange any 30 40 50 60 70 person that they do not have any one of these Arthrits, allergies, Tired syndrom, Restless leg syndrom, no back pain in fact pain of any kind.

It just makes me so damn mad when something like this comes along to try and water down our vitamins to such a low extent that it will relly not help a person stay healthy. And why should they. I have no Drs. fees because I simply do not go to Drs.

Yes they are necessary to me if I break a leg or arm, otherwise forget it. I always say if it is not broken don't try to fix it.

Thank you all who signed this bill.

In the past, food 'safety' regulation was used to promote industrialized practices of mass production. This 'efficiency' always did more than merely promote monopoly : it changed the nature of the workplace by enforcing the regimentation of control from the top as well. When 'efficiency experts' are added to the mix and accounting practices override expert inputs and recommendations...the 'Peter Principle' of systemic disaster is enabled.
There's even worse underlying this yet. I won't presume to analyze causes : but I can report phenomena.
It doesn't help to know I just posted another GMO story

Carole Sarcinello (338)
Sunday September 19, 2010, 9:02 am

IMO, we do not need more laws . . . we need to more strictly enforce the ones already in place.

Once again, the terrors of potential food poisoning are being used as an impetus to pass a bill that does not address that danger. There is even more potential for contamination in large factory farms than in organic food. Plus, there is the added danger that, when detected -- because these products come from all different parts of the country and are then packaged at a central location -- it is even harder to pinpoint the source.

These bills are nothing more than another attempt to eliminate all competition by destroying the livelihoods of family farmers . . . AND TO TAKE AWAY YOUR FREEDOM OF CHOOSING THE ORIGIN OF YOUR OWN FOOD!

The problem lies in clever Corporate entities seeking to push though laws which address problems created by themselves... in a craven effort to ruin our remaining avenues to non Corporate food stuffs, i.e., the small farmers who did not create the problem but rather are the answer in themselves, if left to do as they have always done, in the ways they have always done them, i.e., growing real food the right way and treating animals as if they matter. Regulation is needed of course, but this is a trap set by big Agra in order to drown whats left of the competition.

Senate Bill S. 510 would strengthen the forces that have led to the consolidation of our food supply in the hands of a few industrial food producers, while HARMING SMALL PRODUCERS WHO GIVE CONSUMERS THE CHOICE TO BUY FRESH, HEALTHY, LOCAL FOODS.

Corporate corruption:

“Monsanto’s Michael Taylor apparently designed the bill and is waiting as an appointed Food Czar to the FDA (a position unapproved by Congress) to administer the agency it would create — without judicial review — IF IT PASSES. S 510 WOULD GIVE MONSANTO UNLIMITED POWER OVER ALL US SEED, FOOD SUPPLEMENTS, FOOD AND FARMING.”

1. - find how much your Senators and Representatives have received from Monsanto and other corporate interests here:

2. - tracks money and influence in the U.S. Congress and the California legislature, with more states to come. Look up your legislators here as well.

3. Use the OpenSecrets and websites to find out how much money your Senators and Representatives have received. Share what you have found out with the media, on blogs, facebook, Twitter, etc.

4. MOST IMPORTANT -- CALL AND WRITE TO YOUR SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVES. Confront those who are corrupt. HOLD YOUR LEGISLATORS ACCOUNTABLE. You can find your legislators’ contact information here:

Although it has been delayed many times, the Food Safety Modernization Act (S.510) continues to be a threat. This bill greatly expands FDAs authority over both processed foods and fresh fruits and vegetables, and would give FDA authority to impose extensive, burdensome requirements on even the smallest processing facilities and farms who sell to local consumers.

While the latest version of the bill included some provisions for flexibility and scale-sensitivity, the provisions do not go far enough to protect the small-scale local food businesses that could be destroyed by the new federal regulations.

Take Action:

S.510 could be voted on in the next couple of weeks without much notice. So the time to call your Senators is NOW!

You can find your Senators contact information at or by calling the Capitol Switchboard at 202-224-3121 or toll-free at 877-210-5351. When you call your Senators offices, ask to speak to the staffer who handles food safety issues, and tell them these two things:

1) Support the Tester-Hagan amendment to exempt small-scale, direct marketing farms and facilities from some of the most burdensome portions of the bill. This common-sense amendment is critical to protecting local food sources.

2) Oppose criminal penalties for violations that do not endanger human health or safety: Although it is unclear, there may also be an amendment introduced to combine S.3767 (introduced by Senator Leahy) with S.510, which would create criminal penalties for knowingly introducing adulterated or misbranded food into interstate commerce. Adulterated or misbranded food could mean simply that the farmer or producer did not have all his paperwork in order or made a technical violation of some kind that does not endanger human health or safety.

Special Action for OKLAHOMA residents

Senator Coburn is blocking the passage of S.510 by unanimous consent, and has raised a lot of very good objections to the bill. Please call and THANK HIM for taking this stand. Call his DC office at 202-224-5754. You can read Senator Coburns statement at:

How Much Does A Senator's Sell-Out Cost?  Open Letter -- Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV):
Dear Senator Reid:
We, the People of These United States of America want to know, Senator Reid, how much we need to ante up to "see" Agribiz' purchase of you and to raise the bid enough to buy your allegiance.  After all, Senator, you are both an ex-professional gambler and a professional politician and therefore understand how to play the game. You acted correctly on the morning of September 16, 2010, and announced that you would shelve S. 510, the disastrous Food Fascism Bill (deceptively titled the "Food Safety" Bill).  True, you "blamed" that correct and courageous decision on Sen. Coburn of Oklahoma, whose steadfast opposition to the degradation and industrialization of our entire food supply has been a source of pride and gratification to anyone in the US who treasures sanity, freedom or clean food, but we understand that politics requires such CYA tactics.
Later that day, however, your reversed course and, citing a meeting with Rylee Gustafson of Henderson, NV, who was hospitalized as a 9-year-old in 2006 after "eating contaminated spinach", you decided to support the destruction of the US food supply of clean, wholesome food instead.  Senator Reid, did you ask Rylee whether the spinach he ate was produced by a local family farm, since it is factory farms, not family farms, including phony industrial "organic" farms, which are the source of all US food borne diseases?  CDC says that 1 American in 4 will be struck with food borne disease this year, but those diseases do not come from family farms, according to the CDC itself.  Clearly FDA regulation is not working. We have a disastrously unsafe food supply precisely because it is a factory farm food supply, not in spite of it.
Did you ask if Rylee's mom washed and cooked the spinach sufficiently to ensure its safety?  Did you ask if Rylee's mom's kitchen had been inspected by the FDA Kitchen Police?
Despite the fact that factory farming is responsible for food borne disease, it is local and family farms which are slated for extinction by S. 510, in favor of their giant, and deadly, sound-alikes.  Both are called farms, but small, local farms produce safe food.  Industrial farms produce disease and bribes.
Small, local, organic farms did not produce the recall of billions of tainted eggs two weeks ago.  Just two factory farms produced all those billions of poisonous eggs, aided and abetted by the ineffective regulation of bloated, corrupt government agencies to whom S. 510 would give more power to abuse and more bloat to waste.
So tell us, Senator Reid, in the hours following your decision to table/kill S. 510 and your abrupt reversal of that decision to ram it through the Senate, what was the blood price which you accepted to sell America's food supply, increasing the number of illnesses and deaths with the death of family farms, and our liberty, health, freedom along with it?
What emoluments were you offered, Sir, which would salve your conscience even temporarily sufficiently to allow you to announce that you would use the parliamentary procedure of cloture to cut off all debate on this bill and to ram it through the Senate?
You see, Senator, We, the People, understand the oft-repeated saw that "an honest politician is one who stays bought".  We do not have reason to believe that your decision is one which will stay bought since your decision did such an abrupt about-face.  We would like to enter the game, Sir, that Big Agribiz and you are obviously playing.
What is the price you have put on your support or decision to ram this bill through, instead of killing it, Sir?
We know that tracing the labyrinth of industrial connections of these corporations leads us quickly to a veritable rats' nest of Uber Cartel connections and interests: Big Pharma, Big Chema, Big Agribiz, Big Biotech, Big Medica, Big Oil and Big War.
So tell us, Sen. Reid, what was the deal you were offered,  and accepted, not to gamble with our future, but, worse, to trade it for what in the Bible is referred to as "a mess of beans", a trivial prize in exchange for something of monumental importance?
For Esau, it was a hot and savory dish when he was hungry for which he traded his birthright.  As foolish as that was, Senator, it was his to trade.
You, on the other hand, have traded OUR collective birthright to health, clean, unadulterated food and the freedom to select it and it was NOT yours to trade! So here's the deal: tell us what you were offered and we will up the ante to meet, and beat the price.  You get what you want and we keep our Food Freedom.
Yours in health and freedom,
We, The People of These United States

This is such an important issue. I've been follow the Codex Alimentarius issue. It (read multinational food product corporations) is so dangerous to the health and well being of people and the planet itself.
Thanks for the post.
Dennis Kucinich has been on top of this issue and related ones for years...if only folks would listen

Here's the BS I got from the the Department of Health and Human Services office.

While we will respond to the specific issues you raise as soon as we can, I wanted to let you know that your message has been received and that I appreciate your taking the time to write.

The mission of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is to protect the nation’s health and provide essential human services, and, as part of that mission, we are at the forefront of the federal government’s efforts to address a wide range of critical issues and challenges. I wanted to take this opportunity to update you on our work.

First, on March 23, after more than a year of extensive debate, the President signed into law health reform legislation that brings down health care costs for American families and small businesses, expands coverage to millions of Americans and ends the worst practices of insurance companies. As a result of the new law, Americans will begin to see significant benefits take effect this year, with other important reforms following shortly after. In the weeks, months, and years ahead, our department will be responsible for implementing many of these reforms. You can be assured that we are firmly committed to explaining these changes to the American people clearly, and to enacting them carefully and effectively. For information about the new law, I would encourage you to visit

Meanwhile, thanks to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, we’ve made hundreds of millions of dollars available as part of a comprehensive prevention and wellness initiative, Communities Putting Prevention to Work. This new initiative supports local efforts to reduce obesity, increase physical activity, improve nutrition, and decrease smoking – the four most important things we can to do to fight chronic diseases and improve public health. And it’s right in line with the First Lady’s “Let’s Move” campaign, which calls on Americans to work together to solve childhood obesity in a generation. You can learn more about these and other Recovery Act initiatives at

In addition, it is a core responsibility of HHS, through the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), to ensure the food we eat is safe. Toward that end, I am firmly committed to working with my colleagues at the Department of Agriculture to achieve the President’s goal of upgrading and strengthening our food safety system; restoring trust in the FDA as the leading science-based regulatory agency in the world; and fulfilling our obligation to the American people to ensure that the food they purchase and serve to their families is safe to eat. For more information, please visit

Finally, HHS plays a vital role in getting our children ready to learn and thrive in school, helping low-income working families struggling to make ends meet in this difficult economy, and meeting the basic needs of vulnerable populations, such as abused and neglected children, refugees, and individuals with disabilities. As the Administration works to turn around our economy, we recognize that the economic downturn has had its greatest impact on the most vulnerable among us – low-income families with children. Through child care, child support, energy assistance, and other efforts, the Department helps low-income parents and their communities weather this economic storm. We will continue to work hard to improve these programs through evidence-based approaches that make a difference for these families and children.
Again, thank you for writing.

"restoring trust in the FDA as the leading science-based regulatory agency in the world" I don't think so.

This bill has Michael Taylor’s smell written all over it, have a look at his track record below. He is a Monsanto man. The FDA has all the laws it needs to enforce food safety they are just not doing their job. They want more laws so they can get at the small and organic farmers for Monsanto and other corporations.

Michael Taylor from FDA to Monsanto like a yoyo.
1976 staff attorney FDA, assistant to the Commissioner.
1981 law firm representing Monsanto
1991 returned to FDA as Deputy Commissioner for Policy
1994 USDA, as Administrator of Food Safety & Inspection Service.
1996 returned to Monsanto Vice President for Public Policy
2009, senior advisor to FDA Commissioner
2010 appointed to FDA, Deputy Commissioner for Foods

Agent Orange, Aspartame, PCB’s, rBGH, DDT, Dioxins, Pesticides, Herbicides and of course GMO’s sums up why everyone should fear, hate and despise this (I like this word) despicable company, Monsanto.

Recently I saw an article about how there is a shortage of food. I watched an interview recently that said there is no food shortage, but a distribution problem. We need to make sure when we hear reports like "food shortage" that we can somehow verify it. It would seen to me that Monsanto would like us to believe that we need them to help increase food production, which they really cannot do, and most certainly cannot do safely. Just want to make a point of it here. Sorry but cannot remember where I saw either article. I lost a lot of links when I turn off my computer a couple days ago and don't remember where I found them. Still working on it. Thank you Cary Vizzuti for reporting that the Coden Alimentarius was signed by Executive Order. I am very sorry to hear it. Now we will have our vitamins, minerals and supplements controlled. In Canada they cannot have more than a specific mg. dose of certain vitamins and can only order a specific amount. It will turn into another reason for police surveillance.
I just checked the Executive Orders up to 2009 looking for one that I now cannot find either about taking property of Americans who support terrorists, which could mean donating to the wrong group. It was signed by GW, and if anyone knows the Executive Order number on this I would love to have it.
