Gladly noted and signed...To all my friends who have sent me personal messages, and left comments for me on my profile, please know how grateful I am, and again please know I am not being rude or ignoring you...I just have a problem with Care2 personal messinging...I can read your message, and I can comment on the posts, and send green stars, but I cannot write a reply back using the messaging system...I've been sending messagres to the Care2 Customer Service for over two weeks and as of right now, they have not replied to one of the e-mails I sent them...So please don't think I'm agnoring anyone, the personal messaginging just will not allow me to reply back...I feel bad, because I don't want anyone to think I'm rude or ignorant, by not replying...I have tried many times...I think the rude and ignorant ones in this matter are Carew customer service, for not answering my repeated request's for help...

More from CODEPINK on this subject:

"It may seem like a dark day when the House passes a bill that includes support for endless war, endless detention in Guantanamo, and no stop to the Afghanistan War. But don't let the words of a bill that has not been discussed by the Senate - or gone through conference committee - keep you down! Pay closer attention to the mood in Washington.

The tide has turned and the war is losing its death grip on our leaders. Like us, many in Congress and the Administration are now asking if we can afford to spend billions to occupy foreign countries when we are slashing domestic programs and increasing the national debt.

Last week, more members of Congress voted against the Afghanistan War than since it first began. Thanks for all your calls, emails and visits to their offices. We are just 11 votes away from bringing the war dollars home to our communities! This was a strong warning to Obama that it is time to end the Afghanistan War, but we must keep the pressure on.

Next week, CODEPINK is joining PDA and National Nurses United (NNU) for their national rally in DC. It's time to tell Washington to Bring Our War Dollars Home for vital needs like universal healthcare!

Step by step, people from around the country are demanding that Obama end the Afghan War. Soon, thanks to your encouragement, our mayors will reiterate the demand at their National Conference later this month. Together, we can bring our troops, and our war dollars, home!"

You cannot currently send a star to Just because you have done so within the last week.
Good post Carole put two of my on the top topics together ending the wars and getting health care to all of the citizens.

Carole Sarcinello (338)
Friday June 3, 2011, 5:40 pm

I fully agree, Sheryl. That's why I became so enthused to find out: 1) CODEPINK has already joined with Progressive Democrats of America to promote these two most important needs; and 2) the present climate/timing is perfect!

What's imperative now is that WE can encourage enough citizens to demonstrate their support by signing the petition!

Whenever we are feeling hopeless, we must remember this:

I'm loving seeing so many people STANDING!

Signed.... thank you Carole! I feel that the increasingly dangerous situation in Afghanistan is a DIRECT RESULT of our misadventures in Iraq. Saddam posed no real threat to us, yet Bush pushed us into Iraq anyway -- just to get cheaper oil!!!! Now, the outcome in AFGHANISTAN is of PRIMARY importance to us... those wishing to do us harm are taking the country over, and yet we cannot prevail. HOW DAMN IRONIC. Al Quaida (sp) and the Taliban oppress their people far more ruthlessly than Saddam ever did... AND they aim to do us harm too! We are heading into increasingly unnavigable waters, so we might as well ditch this thankless mission and take the lumps that are certain to follow. Far, far too many lives have been snuffed out or destroyed as a result of bush's deadly, greedy, idiotic megalomania, and now many interlocking vicious circles are churning and tightening down. G bush has the blood of millions on his hands and should be prosecuted as a war criminal to the fullest extent of the law.

P.S. Like Michael Carney said above, something weird has been happening with all MY personal messages too. In fact, just in the last couple of days I have received the first 2 personal messages in, like, a 2-month period. I've gotten regular Care2 stuff but no personal messages at all. Hard to think every single friend stopped sending me messages at the same time (was it something I said?!). But now perhaps it's going the other direction again. Maybe if I was more tecchie I could figure it out. But I can't.

An update from Progressive Democrats of America:
On Tuesday, June 7, PDA joined our friends, National Nurses United/California Nurses Association (NNNU/CNA) in a hugely successful rally and lobby day in Washington. Over 2,000 people attended the rally in the morning, before dozens of citizen lobbyists headed to the Hill to meet with Democratic senators or their aides.
We delivered our letter, asking for a significant troop withdrawal from Afghanistan beginning in July and to support Sanders' single-payer bill (S. 915)—signed by more than 16,000 peace advocates—to all the members of the Senate Democratic Caucus.
Although we fell short of our goal to collect 25,000 signatures by June 7, the Senate is still considering the Defense Authorization Act, and we're still actively seeking more signers. At our meeting with Sen. John Kerry, we promised to deliver 10,000 more signatures on June 21. We're close to reaching that goal, but your signature can put us over the top and beyond. Click here to help us surpass our goal.
Thank you to our friends at NNU/CNA, U.S. Labor Against the War, Labor Campaign for Single Payer Healthcare, Healthcare-NOW!, CODEPINK, RootsAction, and United for Peace and Justice, who also circulated the letter among their members.
A special thank you to PDA Advisory Board member Thom Hartmann, who featured Healthcare NOT Warfare co-chairs Donna Smith and Norman Solomon on his June 8 program. Watch it here!
If you have already signed the letter, thank you. Please ask your like-minded friends and family members to sign it, too. If you haven't signed it yet, please sign here and pass this along. (Remember to delete the "unsubscribe" link at the very bottom of your forward before sending.)
We're closer than we've ever been to ending the war in Afghanistan, and the issue of spiraling healthcare costs is still unaddressed. The time is ripe for Healthcare NOT Warfare. Please help us top our goal.
