The US Government Stands Revealed to the World as a Collection of War Criminals and Liars | Global Research

US Politics & Gov't  (tags: US_government, lies, Syria )

Does the American public have the strength of character to face the fact that the US government stands before the entire world revealed as a collection of war criminals who lie every time that they open their mouth?

We have the best right-wing two party system that corporate dollars can buy. Where else can get so much choice as moderate right-wing warmongers vs extreme right-wing warmongers? The American people have only one thing to fear from their corporate-sponsored capitalist government: bipartisanship. The people have spoken: #NoWar, #Obama.

Remember when the former VP was always in some secret, undisclosed location? This is a bona fide offer to send Dick Cheney on vacation trip to sunny Spain.

The offer includes a ONE WAY coach class plane ticket on the commercial airline of our choice to take Dick Cheney from Washington, DC, to Madrid, Spain, on a date to be selected by him with 30 days advance notice to us. Ticket must be claimed by Dick Cheney in person at the airline counter on flight check in and used for that purpose. We will also pay for one week of the basic room charge for a hostel style accommodation of our choice in Madrid. No other expenses are included.

The WHO is US. Instead of pointing fingers at the obvious targets (seated government officials), we need to UNITE and develop solutions.

My problem with comments -- like yours -- is that you assume we all blame Obama, et al.

Not true (at least for me). I want to know what YOU -- yourself -- propose to actually DO (as a united front, with others who feel the same -- without merely placing blame -- which accomplishes NOTHING).

This is why we need to get up and get active - and let our government know that we won't stand for crap like this. We need to remind our elected officials that they serve US - not the other way around. We need to do more than just sign petitions - we need to get active, protest by the tens of thousands, send letters and e-mails, and above all, keep up the pressure. Successful movements are the ones that stay strong and vocal. Look at the civil rights movement, and how they refused to give up despite persecution and brutality.

Above all: VOTE! Don't just vote - cast informed votes, and preferably for third-party candidates such as Libertarians. The Republimocrat monopoly on our politics has got to come to an end. Remember: We are many, we are strong, we have a lot more power than we think!

Angela, does the name Rosa Parks, Dr. Martin Luther King, Ghandi, mother Theresa, George Washington and the rest of the founding fathers ring any bells to you? Yes, great people arise when challenging times beset us. It has happened throught out history and it will happen in America's present. What we as Americans must remember is that we the 90% MUST UNITE! And fight back with who we vote for to whom we buy from to civil protests and most importantly we MUST HOLD legally responsible ANYONE who dares to take our rights away! But hey if you disagree with me, please be kind enough to share your vision as to what you think we as a country should do?

Fear against hate and hate against and the same as for results.. From the day they came ashore and sickened the Natives, stole land, and cheated them in every way possible...right up until today...generations later, the rule of thumb for these insidious scumbags or so called leaders is to take...take, and then take more. I don't understand how these vultures continue to outright and blatantly lie, cheat and steal from their citizens without due repercussions. Corporate strongholds and consumerism rule. The land of opportunity slogan should be rethought when thinking about setting up shop and the American dream should be renamed the American nightmare...we should remember that the first boatload of land thieves achieved their goals by force using intimidation, bribery and genocide. Land of the ass!

Well, first off... Thank you my darling Carole for getting Global Research posted on c2. I was actually going to post a few articles from the media link, but instead I am hoping anyone that pops on here, PLEASE go to the site and read a few of the other articles on the site. It can really give you some perspective on whats going on under the sheets with everything from Bush-to-Obama. This Syria war has been a smoke screen in the making for many years and its been brewing to get into Iran and mostly about f**in OIL. Shame and pitiful earth destroying crap. Well, please be knowing, us moccosins on the ground and the underground media are blogging and getting our selves loud as we can. But, getting slammed in the courts and into the shiny bracelets. If you haven't noticed. Most ground team members ( myself included) are having a hard time getting anything posted without getting our comments and stuff ripped down. But we are making impacts. So keep pushing, keep posting, keep it up. Do not stop typing and speaking. The world needs to know that it is not the people, it is the BIG EYE. Dammit! There is also the fact they have a population control plan for america Population Apocolypse where they will exterminate a majority of their own people and blame it on terrorism - and those lucky enough to be wealthy well educated and on the IN with this lot will be safe in their internment camps (which are been built in several states in america) the american people need to rise up against this (1 problem though is there is always someone just as bad to take their place) and it all comes down to a lust for power and money

Also keep an eye open for False Flag situations such as the Boston Bombings - there were too many questionable actions by the authorities and the ex-navy seal guys at the start with packs and at the end several were missing packs - one question I have had is several unexploded packs were found but it took them days to work out how the bombs were made and what happened to those packs where did they disappear to also 1 american authority been interviewed made a huge mistake by saying "the actors" then quickly "suspects" noone questioned it why not how could that kind of mistake be explained it can't - the whole thing looks like those boys were set up to play a role not realising the full implications and the american government set the whole thing up so it can carry on raging war on other countries and using bully boy tactics to scare the population into submission

Its looking to me like this coming war with Syria,, they won't even call a war, may finally unite the people on peaceful solutions. We have spent so much on guns and bombs over butter that there is hardly any butter left to protect.. With Guthrie logic we may be close to the peaceful world we want for there is nothing left to fight wars for.

I love how when any media disagrees with what Obama's administration says, does, etc. they refer to them as a regime. That is what makes me question this news source. When media use words such as this the are doing so to incite the public and invoke distrust. This smacks too much of the Tea Party crap we have to hear every single day. 1) America has to consider the issue of how to handle chemical attacks being used. That is a given. 2) No matter what America does we are boned. If we bomb Syria innocents will be hurt. If we do nothing we are sending a message that no one who uses chemical weapons have anything to fear from us. 3) I have read a lot of the comments posted here and very few of them contain intelligence, truth, or in a few cases any sense of reality. 4) I have friends in Syria that have lost loved ones in this attack. If I listen to my Syrian friends they want America to do something. Everyone needs to shut up and listen to the people who have been attacked. What do they want? What do the Syrian refugees want? NO ONE is talking about that.

Carole Sarcinello (338)
Monday September 9, 2013, 7:20 am
Dawn, you have every right to disagree with any opinion posted (but it is bad form to insult posts/posters who believe differently from you, i.e. "I have read a lot of the comments posted here and very few of them contain intelligence, truth, or in a few cases any sense of reality. ")
As for the source of this article, Global Research:
"The Centre for Research on Globalization (CRG) is an independent research and media organization based in Montreal.  The CRG is a registered non-profit organization in the province of Quebec, Canada.
In addition to the Global Research websites, the Centre is involved in book publishing, support to humanitarian projects as well as educational outreach activities including the organization of public conferences and lectures. The Centre also acts as a think tank on crucial  economic and geopolitical issues."
And the author:
"Paul Craig Roberts has had careers in scholarship and academia, journalism, public service, and business. He is chairman of The Institute for Political Economy."
Frankly, I trust very little of what is posted in mainstream media, such as an op ed piece in USA Today, authored by a very young freelance writer.  For every opinion out there, one can find proof online that agrees with them; and most people choose to read and believe the information that supports their own pre-conceived opinion.

In the late 1990s, top US Treasury officials secretly conspired with a small cabal of banker big-shots to rip apart financial regulation across the planet. When you see 26.3% unemployment in Spain, desperation and hunger in Greece, riots in Indonesia

By Greg Palast for Vice Magazine
When a little birdie dropped the End Game memo through my window, its content was so explosive, so sick and plain evil, I just couldn't believe it.

The Memo confirmed every conspiracy freak's fantasy: that in the late 1990s, the top US Treasury officials secretly conspired with a small cabal of banker big-shots to rip apart financial regulation across the planet. When you see 26.3% unemployment in Spain, desperation and hunger in Greece, riots in Indonesia and Detroit in bankruptcy, go back to this End Game memo, the genesis of the blood and tears.

The Treasury official playing the bankers' secret End Game was Larry Summers. Today, Summers is Barack Obama's leading choice for Chairman of the US Federal Reserve, the world's central bank. If the confidential memo is authentic, then Summers shouldn't be serving on the Fed, he should be serving hard time in some dungeon reserved for the criminally insane of the finance world.
The memo is authentic.

It is your stupidity and inattention that is the problem. There is also a lot of people who think national politics is supposed to be open. Do not expect every person to have all the information all the time. We live in the real world. We have enemies who want to destroy the Secular West. From the article, How can the American people and their representatives in Congress tolerate these extraordinary criminals? Why are not obama and John Kerry impeached? The obama regime has every quality of Nazi Germany and Stasi Communist Germany, only that the obama regime is worse. The obama regime spies on the entire world and lies about it. The obama regime is fully engaged in killing people in seven countries, a murderous rampage that not even Hitler attempted.
Are the American people and the rest of the world just going to stand there, sucking their thumbs, while a new Nazi State rises in Washington?

Congress must vote down the war and make it clear to obama that if he defies the constitutional power of Congress he will be impeached.

If the US Congress is too corrupt or incompetent to do its duty, the rest of the world must join the UN General Secretary and the President of Russia and declare that unilateral military aggression by the US government is a war crime, and that the war criminal US government will be isolated in the international community. Any of its members caught traveling abroad will be arrested and turned over to the Hague for trial. Thanks Carole for posting! I agree with the article!

I think we (at least us commie, socialists at Care2;) have KNOWN since at least 2001 that the US government is a collection of war criminals who lie every time that they open their mouth! The fact we TRIED to do things about it - including electing a black man who can speak without mangling the English language - says Something about our collective optomism & faith in humanity...BUT it appears we need to do even more to restore our American Dream. An INTENSE grassroots Party needs to get a couple of Decent People to elect to the White House - maybe Green Party? With the express purpose of restoring & Expanding Civil Rights (national recognition of right to marry, vote, etc.) and Investigation & prosecution of Money Fraud (every freaking Bank$ter involved!)and prosecution of Torture, Close Gitmo, etc., etc., etc.!!!!!!

I think none of the Candidates being considered for replacement for Bernanke. There should be another choice. See their history.

Who Should be the Next Chairman of the Federal Reserve?

Larry Summers

During his stint as Treasury Secretary for the Bill Clinton administration, Larry Summers played a key role in deregulating financial derivatives and sowing the seeds for the 2008 financial crisis. Then, as President of Harvard he approved a “bet” on similar financial derivatives which lost the university $1 billion.

Janet Yellen

Janet Yellen seems to be the mainstream media’s frontrunner because she’s a liberal and a woman. Yet, she failed to foresee or prevent the massive real estate bubble the Fed helped inflate with its easy money policies. She’s also likely to continue with “quantitative easing” (money printing) if chosen to head the Fed.

Don Kohn

Don Kohn has been at the Fed 40 years, he’s the ultimate “insider…” he was Alan Greenspan’s right-hand man when the Fed helped inflate the biggest real estate bubble in history. And, as vice chairman of the Fed, Don helped Ben Bernanke artificially inflate the stock market and destroy the dollar with never-ending rounds of “quantitative easing” (money printing).

None of the Above

If you'd prefer NONE of these establishment puppets were nominated, then vote and make your voice heard. Let’s tell Washington We the People reject Yellen, Summers and Kohn. Let’s tell Washington we want a candidate who’ll preserve the dollar instead of inflating it to oblivion, and let’s tell Washington we want a candidate who’ll serve the people and not Wall Street.

will share his valuable views on the market,
economy, politics and more with you

Does not the Charter for the Fed end this year? If am let me know. We don't even here a discussion there being a vote on it. Chances are there is economic way out of it. Best ideas I've heard is Kucinich's call to put it under the Treasury. Another idea out there is to print US Not as Lincoln did. And I love the idea of Public State Banks such as North Dakota has. So what about using them US Notes to help fund those Public State Banks?

Thanks Carole and noted. I know what you mean. I love my country and this article is so TRUE! They don't even care what the people think anymore! The new world order and it's puppets are going ahead as planned. I don't know how we are going to stop it. :)

This is a sad truth about this country that we're finally coming to understand a little... at least quite a few of us are getting it now. Perhaps we should thank 9/11 and "W" for exposing just how corrupt our government is. It is unbelievably sad. It is also why it is laughable that this charade of America punishing any government for bad behavior (like Syria) is anything bud total misdirection and subterfuge. It's just the phonies' way of using emotion to trick the people.and pretend that they're on the moral high ground. Nothing is further from the truth. We've been blind for way too long. Waking up is painful... like the way a leg feels when it's recovering from "falling asleep."... all prickles and pain. Hopefully we'll get to the other side of this condition, but I'm not so sure we will. We'll all pay for the sins of our brethren, the trusted representatives in government! Tripe! Thanks, *C*... hiding our heads in the sand only prolongs the numbness, so your introspection is of benefit to us all in the end.

Sorry I'm late to the thread, been nursing a cold, on slow speed.

“This was very unpleasant and surprising for me. We talk to them [the Americans], and we assume they are decent people, but he [Kerry] is lying and he knows that he is lying. This is sad.” President Putin of Russia

Well we are truly in a sad state of affairs when we have Russia protecting our WhistleBlower Snowden but Putin shouldn't be too sad he is being lied to, we get it all the time.....lies!

We have to get our truth from media outside of the USA or a few Independent Sources doing their best to get the American public the information. Thanks Jim for placing War Made Easy on here and I will check out links that others have left on here.

If you still haven't signed Petitions on Syria I have a whole list of them and a few more throughout the thread at the link below.
This Is War Petitions for Syria

As it is 9-11 I've put on the movie Loose Change, another place people need to get real with. As Caitlin wrote maybe we can eventually get to the other side of this condition but the Truth must have a lot of light shown on it first. Too many remain ignorant and in this case ignorance is not bliss, it is a destroyer of lives.

I came across this lawsuit by a coalition of groups suing the NSA. May they be completely successful;

Organizations, Activists Lining Up To Sue Against NSA Surveillance

September 10, 2013 by Electronic Frontier Foundation

This post originally appeared on the Electronic Frontier Foundation website on Sept. 10.

Five new groups—including civil-rights lawyers, medical-privacy advocates and Jewish social-justice activists—have joined a lawsuit filed by the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) against the National Security Agency (NSA) over the unconstitutional collection of bulk telephone call records. With today’s amended complaint, EFF now represents 22 entities in alleging that government surveillance under Section 215 of the Patriot Act violates Americans’ First Amendment right to freedom of association.

The five entities joining the First Unitarian Church of Los Angeles v. NSA lawsuit before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California are: Acorn Active Media, the Charity and Security Network, the National Lawyers Guild, Patient Privacy Rights and The Shalom Center. They join an already diverse coalition of groups representing interests including gun rights, environmentalism, drug-policy reform, human rights, open-source technology, media reform and religious freedom.

“The First Amendment guarantees the freedom to associate and express political views as a group,” EFF legal director Cindy Cohn said. “The NSA undermines that right when it collects, without any particular target, the phone records of innocent Americans and the organizations in which they participate. In order to advocate effectively, these organizations must have the ability to protect the privacy of their employees and members.”

In June, The Guardian newspaper published a secret order from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) that authorized the wholesale collection of phone records of all Verizon customers, including the numbers involved in each call, the time and duration of the call, and “other identifying information.” Government officials subsequently confirmed the document’s authenticity and acknowledged the order was just one of a series issued on a rolling basis since at least 2006.

EFF originally filed the lawsuit on June 16, arguing the tracking program allows the government to compile detailed connections between people and organizations that have no correlation to national security investigations. Along with adding the new plaintiffs, the amended complaint also adds new information about “contact chaining” searches through the vast trove of phone records, adds James B. Comey as a defendant now that he is the head of the FBI, and makes some additional changes.

For Rabbi Arthur Waskow of The Shalom Center, the revelations come with a sense of déjà vu.

“Jewish tradition for at least the last 2,000 years has celebrated the right of privacy of the people against surveillance by a ruler,” Waskow said. “A generation ago, I joined with other antiwar activists to successfully sue the FBI over its ‘COINTELPRO’ program, which violated our right to assemble in opposition to the Vietnam War. Now, as director of The Shalom Center—a religious organization advocating for peace, social justice and environmental sustainablility—I am concerned that the NSA has greatly surpassed the FBI in undermining our Constitutional rights.”

The National Lawyers Guild, a public-interest legal association that has defended civil rights for more than 75 years, notes that surveillance has substantially impeded its ability to communicate with those seeking legal assistance.

“Applied on a massive scale, government surveillance becomes a form of oppression,” the Guild’s Executive Director Heidi Boghosian said. “Knowing that we are likely monitored, we have curbed our electronic interactions. Sensitive discussions about cases are confined to in-person meetings and letters. We have no illusions that our hotline for individuals visited by the FBI is private; we don’t even ask for specific details for fear of government eavesdropping.”

EFF also represents the plaintiffs in Jewel v. NSA, a class-action case filed on behalf of individuals in 2008 aimed at ending the NSA’s dragnet surveillance of millions of ordinary Americans. The Jewel case is set for a conference with the Court on September 27 in San Francisco.

May I add that this coalition with EFF is suing based on Constitutional violations. See the link for the amended complaint. Suit based on First, Fourth and Fifth amendments.

Well, some finger pointing is required. But that doesn't solve the problem, your right. Voting does sometimes. And of course keeping our voices loud and strong. Thanks for all you do Just C.
