by pushing the worries to the side and to the back, next to those boxes of painful memories and dusty, misremembered oaths. You know, those promises to remember? To support? To care?

Well, look at the calendar. I guess nows as good a time as any to talk about some of the problems were ignoring.

On this, my second deployment with the Army, my responsibilities as a squad leader include supervising and guiding nine other soldiers, all of whom are on their first overseas mission.

I can also relate to this. Listening to our President and watching him use the military as backdrop while he tries to remove militray retiree ehalth benfits just makes it worse. The memories stay with us.
