With Monsanto's track record, this just brings all sorts of horrors to mind of mutant bees. Monster bees, more bee deaths. And the poor farmers, on contract to buy Monsanto's poisoned seeds and weed killers, what now, they'll be forced to buy Monsanto bees?

What happens when these GM bees reproduce (if they will be able to) if they cross with non-GM bees who will the genes belong to?

This is a nightmare.

Oh F*CK! Theyre going for the pollinators so even backyard gardens won't be safe. Where are all those GOPers who supposedly believe in Intelligent Design???

May I just quote, " They (Monsanto) even state that they are into sustainability.... My jaw dropped. Apparently Monsanto is experiencing delusions about its identity."

Indeed, as the title advises I am afraid, I am very afraid.

Thanks for informing Julie. Very important news.

Alas, poor bees. Alas, poor humans, too.The article notes that "recent research has also provided the first example of ingested plant micro RNA surviving digestion and influencing human cell function." With Monsanto stating "there is no need for, or value in testing the safety of GM foods in humans." I guess the "no need for" is because the powers that be are complicit in all of this and the no "value" meaning there are no financial gains to be made..

No wonder honeybees are on the decline and having a hard time. Damned insecticides in everything.

Come into my garden said the spider to the fly, we all know what happened to that poor creature. This is pure destruction of creation as we know it. Hope all the Monsanto scientists are attacked by these monsters and die a horrible death!

We should infest all Monsanto facilities with 'African' honeybees to put a permanent end to this scam!

Why cover everything with dangerous and expensive chemicals when nature's got everything it needs to provide us with our food without poisoning the planet, it's free and all we have to do is to work with it and supply the labour.

Monsanto won't stop until they genetically engineer everything on the planet. They won't be happy until they can make a profit from everything that grows or pollinates what grows. What's terrifying is we still don't know what the long term problems may be with GE foods that we are all eating without knowing it. Unless you are fortunate enough to have acreage that is completely self sustaining and totally organic, there will always be a question about what you eat. And now we have to worry about the bees, too.
