God said there'd be days like this. We seem to have a president with a commitment to open government and equal justice. Maybe we should ask him about these rumors. I cannot get e-mails through very well, especially to the Obama administration. I joined Change.org, but was not allowed to do more than my profile - I never got to pose my idea for change, which was DECRIMINALIZE MENTAL ILLNESS. I am hopeful that the new administration will undo some of the damage that was done to civil liberties. I am disappointed to see this Congressman Hastings put forth such a nasty bill as this. Friends, why oh why do the rich folks keep wanting to send everyone else to jail?

With 1 in every 99.1 Americans behind bars tonight, who do they think is going to be left to pay the $50,000,000.00 annual prison budget we already have, to incarcerate 2/3 non-violent offenders?

Did you read about the Pennsylvania judges sending poor kids (who appeared in court without a lawyer) to their buddies' private prison? They were paid $2.6 million in kickbacks! Now, if they got that much for enslaving Pennsylvania children, how much did the private detention centers get? I am disappointed in Pennsylvania. Isn't that where some of America's most cherished democratic symbols and history are?

Pennsylvania is where the DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE was signed, and now the state is a prison state, incarcerating little kids for money!

Don't you wonder who might be paying Hastings to come up with such an evil bill? Is there anything good in Florida, other than Disney World and other theme parks?

I apologize. That annual prison budget is more. I did not put enough - It is $50,000,000,000.00 per year for you to incarcerate 2.3 million folks, and more than 200,000 are minors serving life sentences without the possibility of parole -- so you are in for a long debt there.

Since lots of prisons are in the hands of private owners who are great businessmen, maybe they can get it down to 1 in every 10 Americans in prison soon.

They need these concentration camps for more space, I guess.

I think what is even more terrifying is how many Americans are oblivious to these kinds of activities. Most of them are ignorant to the world around them and refuse to believe anything like this. I, too, was naive once - But the world, she opened my eyes with the help of folks like you who make sure we know what's going on.

Excuse me, my article is no "scare tactic."

Bush is no longer in office, and I am sure President Obama is not in favor of anything that would violate the civil rights of Americans.

However, news is news. This man, Alcee Hastings, has put before Congress a bill to be voted on - H.R. 645. Unlike mainstream media, I do not agree that it is right to hide the news because it would reflect badly on someone. A BILL TO SET UP CONCENTRATION CAMPS IN AMERICA IS PENDING BEFORE CONGRESS, and that is the news - that is no "scare tactic."

The main reason why independent news like Care2News Network is so important is because mainstream news filters what they report. Why on earth would all the major news affiliates in your city give you the exact same news at 6:00 p.m. every single day if they were acting independently?

Why didn't any of the news affiliates tell you about the secret arrest and wrongful death of my mentally ill brother in Shelby County Jail in 2003?

Why didn't any of the mainstream news orgs. tell you in 2006 that The Atlanta office of The Johnnie Cochran Firm went to court and denounced that identity, saying it was not a Cochran Firm office and had no affiliation with other Cochran Firm offices - is that not news? Is it news that the Atlanta office of The Cochran Firm was granted a Court Order declaring it nonexistent under that identity to have my family's fraud suit dismissed, yet it goes right ahead being advertised to unsuspecting consumers under that name? Did they lie in court (perjury), or do they lie on the Internet and in commercials (Google "Cochran Firm" and see their list of offices).

LOTS OF IMPORTANT NEWS STORIES ARE OMITTED FROM THE NEWS, BUT THAT DOES NOT MAKE THEM INSIGNIFICANT, and neither does it demote those news stories to the level of being "scare tactics."

FOLKS NEED TO CONTACT THEIR CONGRESSPERSONS AND LET THEM KNOW TO VOTE "NO" IF ALCEE HASTINGS' BILL COMES TO A VOTE. LET THEM KNOW THAT YOU KNOW ABOUT H.R. 645, because you read about it on an independent news site - Care2.

The problem is that the term "concentration camps" have come to mean involuntary prisons where dreadful things occur to the inmates.

That isn't what the bill is proposed to create. Nothing is being hidden - the bill's wording is quite clear. It is designed for disaster preparedness. Not to recreate Nazi Germany.

Lindsey, we don't have enough natural disasters to need to spend this kind of money for the possibility of bad weather - I read $350 million - at a time when we are struggling to get our economy out of the hole.

I have seen pictures of trains, called "prison trains" by the person who sent them. I have seen pictures of many thousands of containers, called "coffins" by the person who published them. The problem is - there is no evidence whatsoever that there is anything suspicious about this bill. So many are looking at it and automatically jumping to the conclusion that "something's up".

Heaven knows our government can do despicable and terrible things at times. No doubt about that at all.

Lindsey, as I started to write to you before my lights mysteriously blinked and I lost power temporarily . . .

Two men were in their beautiful office building working hard one morning, when suddenly, the twin to their building was hit by a plane. One man left immediately. On his way out, he asked his friend, "Aren't you leaving?" His friend said, "No. I have too much to do. The guard said we're fine. Besides, there is no evidence we need to leave." So he stayed.

I spend most of my days trying to get lawmakers to relax restrictions on enforced treatment for acute mental patients BEFORE there is evidence of their being a danger to self and others. Evidence usually comes in the nature of a crisis situation.

An article co-written by a former Congressman and carried by the San Francisco Chronicle has gained much attention recently as it shines light on a coordinated federal government program to build detention camps at undisclosed locations within the United States.

According to diplomat and author Peter Dale Scott, the KBR contract is part of a Homeland Security plan titled ENDGAME, which sets as its goal the removal of "all removable aliens" and "potential terrorists."

And, by the way - the President has had the ability and right to suspend civil rights for far longer than merely since 9/11 and its aftermath. Lincoln used that power back in the 1860's to suspend many civil rights during the War Between the States. FDR used it.

Mary, I wasnt saying anything against you personally so please dont take my post that way. I saw the train cars and shackles, and photos of them too from someone who worked at the company who manufactured them. I saw a map of where all these places are, I was scared five years ago when the gov.t bought a Railroad. the tracks that lead to the camp sites. They were saying back then that we would all be put into them under the Bush ADmin. This turned out to be false, no? So I am just saying that I dont fall for the scare tactic any more.

I also saw the video floating around the internet supposedly of a news team filming inside one of the proposed "camps" - with, at one point, "black helicopters" being shown overhead supposedly watching them.

However, despite the fact that the "camp" site was supposedly so secret and part of this conspiracy, the news crew somehow got in to an unlocked site, with no security guards to keep people out, no government people anywhere around, and the supposed government black helicopters watching them did nothing - then or later.

There are lots of videos circulating on the internet about lots of things - one being promoted a few months ago was supposedly of a UFO (very clearly seen to be a spaceship) flying low over the Shanghai airport, with people looking up at it. Of course, it was a fake - footage from a movie of a spaceship was spliced into footage of people looking up at another thing entirely. The real video, showing people watching the French "spiderman" climbing the outside of a hotel, could also be easily found on the internet. Unfortunately, none of the "believers" chose to look further - they merely accepted the spaceship story uncritically.

My "boss" is a family law attorney in Birmingham. I'm his paralegal. We handle divorces, child support modifications, wills, and a few other legal matters. And we do zero "government" work.

However much it may disappoint you, Mary, I'm not a government agent, corporate shill, or internet infiltrator. Some people actually do hold differing views from others without necessarily being part of some murky group of conspirators.

Well thank you, Lindsey and Echo Eles for clarifying to Americans that the government is spending untold millions of dollars on prison trains cars with shackles, building and equipping "emergency centers" and special training for soldiers on handling civilian uprisings, while assuring us all that the government has no intention whatsoever of using any of this.

Thank you for that assurance. So, we're not really in a recession, are we? Spending all of that money on "centers" and prison boxcars with shackles for no reason whatsoever and no intention of ever using them seems absurd, but we're supposed be like the three monkeys: hear, see, and speak no evil.

Of course they are spending millions! And I believe the cost associated with Hastings' bill if it is allowed to pass would be around $350 million.

From what I remember of the internet reports about "train cars", etc. - the allegations then were that they were supposedly (if real) for transporting illegal immigrants to central holding facilities while awaiting deportation.

And I find it unlikely that your article was "not allowed" to be posted to "contain damage" while it was on the front page. Care2 isn't involved in anything like that I'm quite certain and I would imagine that the shadowy government figures don't much care about Care2 members reading your article. After all, the information is hardly unique - those conspiracy theories are found elsewhere without doubt.

NOTED! But I just left a site with cyberbully/harrassment and attempted assisted suicide. Have I run into some cyberstalkers here? No one believed me there but I had the evidence so when anyone says anything about cyberbullies/cyberstalkers, I tend to believe it, so if it is happening, STOP IT! You don't have to like or agree with what someone writes or says but you do not have the right to heckle or taunt anyone. Seriously, GROW UP AND STOP IT!!!!

In the article I wrote, I included the LIBRARY OF CONGRESS's link to the bill H.R. 645 so that people could keep up with which congressmen support the six (6) "emergency centers" being built in America. Now, the LIBRARY OF CONGRESS's link has NO DATA on H.R. 645! Maybe it is just technical problems, so I wrote to them about it. The site is called "Thomas."
