PLEASE help Jeremy Smith, everyone! Don't let what happened to Mr. Horton in CCA's prison in Nashville happen to this young man!

Mr. Horton was kept in isolation for 9 months. He lived in filth - no baths, no medical or psychiatric care, and no exercise until a prison guard feared for the mentally ill inmate's life and blew the whistle on his employers!

Don't do this to mental patients, I beg you! Don't do to Jeremy what you did to my mentally ill brother, Larry, who died in Memphis/Shelby County Jail under secret arrest, and no one will explain why - 5 years and no records, no explanation, and no accountability!

Please stop and consider this: Mental patients are people, too. They are Americans, too. They are supposed to have their rights protected, too. Don't kill them! Don't lock them away in solitary confinement AS PRISONERS and throw away the key!

People love their mentally ill relatives! STOP THE ABUSE OF POWER. Stop using mental patients to make money for the prison profiteers.

Noted and signed! Thanks Mary I remember all the months my son was on lock down "for his own protection" once because he was suicidal no clothing had to eat with his hands nothing no blanket in Nov-Jan. Mostly because of threats from officers

noted thanks mary,well what a system yous have in america 8 years for hitting someone lucky if they get 3 or 4 years in this country for killing babys getting of with manslaughter insted ,this man should never have bee jaild for 8 weeks never mind 6 years the law and system tinks jut like here in the uk.poor man and his family

Hey Charles, two women raped in my family and their attackers spent less than two years each in prison. Neither of those two have a mental illness, they are just criminals. So is our system a criminal for torturing the mentally ill.

SIGNED AND NOTED, PEOPLE SEEM TO CLOSE THEIR EYES AND LOOK THE OTHER WAY WHEN IT IS A MENTAL ILL PATIENT. I GUESS THEY ARE AFRAID IT IS GOING TO RUB OFF OR SOMETHING OR THEY MIGHT BE ASSOCIATED WITH IT. MENTAL ILLNESS SLOWS THE PROGRESS OF A WHOLE NATION FOR THOSE WHO HAVE IT AND THOSE WHO ARE AFRAID OF IT.

I was repulsed to see the video, also. If you go to the main article that this excerpt is from, you will see another video - Mr. Horton's video. He is mentally ill like Jeremy. He was kept naked 9 mo. in solitary with no baths, doctor's visits, or exercise. Anyone who did that to a dog - locked them up in a tiny space with feces all over the place and no baths and no outdoor time at all - sick and no vet - there would be lines of people and thousands of names on the petition. PLEASE EVERYONE, help the mentally ill citizens in America finally achieve Dog Justice!

Never forget this. There are 200,000 people in solitary confinement as you go about your day today - little 9' x 6 foot cells - some in complete darkness for YEARS. Others are in bright neon light for YEARS. All their juries and judges said was "prison," not "torture." PLEASE HELP!
