Crime undeterred leads to more crimes. In 2003, Larry Neal died under Secret Arrest in Memphis/Shelby County Jail. His family's lawsuit regarding his wrongful death was withheld from due process of law by The Johnnie Cochran Firm, while the lawyers pretended to work for Larry's family. By 2006, three more Memphis area citizens with mental dysfunctions were also murdered or abused. Federal lawsuits were filed for those cases but did not go to trial. Persons in the Gay, Lesbian, Bi-sexual and Transgender community are also targeted for abuse and elimination. In 2008, transgender citizen Duanna Johnson was brutalized by police officers in Shelby County Jail's intake area. Video footage of her abuse was published nationwide, and she planned a lawsuit. She was murdered on November 11, 2008, before suit was filed.

The USDOJ illegally refuses to answer the Neal family's FOIA request for records or investigate the death of schizophrenic heart patient, Larry Neal. He died under secret arrest in 2003 in Memphis/Shelby County Jail. Now his sister, Mary Neal, endures illegal stalking online and in person to prevent her advocacy for human rights for prisoners. Mentally ill Americans are illegally discriminated against and suffer cruel arrests, usually in isolation, sometimes for misdemeanors such as singing loud (disturbing the peace). Some sick inmates have no criminal charges pending whatsoever. WE THE PEOPLE must stand against torture and murders of inmates and less fortunate citizens whether they are in offshore War on Terror camps or in domestic facilities like Larry was. Help stop crimes like discrimination, arrests without criminal charges, and cruel and unusual punishment against America's mental patients, and erosion of Americans' First Amendment rights to free press and freedom of speech. STOP America from progressing further down the road to communism or Nazism when it comes to protecting institutionalized persons, mentally ill citizens who are not under arrest, and First Amendment rights.

In rural China, indigent mentally ill people are often kept in cages in their families' homes. In Nazi Germany, the mentally ill were isolated and killed. In America, mentally dysfunctional citizens are warehoused in prisons and jails rather than receiving treatment in community care programs or in secure mental hospitals, depending on their offenses and ability to survive in society without constant overview. This is not the America that it could be if concerned citizens UNITE for freedom and [equal] justice for ALL. If we fail to apply due diligence to these justice issues, our nation, like Germany, may expand its disregard for citizens' Constitutional rights until you and your loved ones are impacted like the families of 1.25 million incarcerated mental patients.

AS USUAL, I am fighting cyberstalkers to post this news to groups. I am trying to post the item for members at Assistance to the Incarcerated Mentally Ill to note the item now. The first time I posted it, the comment with this Care2 News Network number in it disappeared. I posted again, and the item is just sitting there after I hit "submit."

I film the censorship and cyberstalking that I experience, and I advise other human rights activists to never work online without having a digital video camera or cellphone handy. I am releasing the films I took over the last two years to people who contribute to our work toward justice for Larry Neal and other inmates. Interested persons are invited to write to donate and request a CD at Mary Loves Justice, P.O Box 153, Redan, GA 30074.

Censorship is a double wrong. It is a criminal act against the intended receiver of news as much as it is against the messenger. Therefore, many people's rights are being violated when my emails, articles, and blogs are not allowed to reach them. The inmates and families whose news I carry are certainly being victimized. We make up a possible CLASS for a lawsuit regarding violations against our First Amendment rights to freedom of press. Like Dr. King, "All say to America is just be true to what you said on paper." The Constitution of the United States of America is still in effect, or is it? For how long? WE THE PEOPLE must decide that - and quickly. We must wake up. It is KoffieTime!

You are right, Lionel. I am very concerned that officials don't care how loud I complain about my brother's secret arrest and murder and the USA's REFUSAL to release records or explain his murder. They must be much further along the road to NWO than I first believed. Otherwise, they would at least want to keep up appearances. That is my conclusion from this whole affair. With voting machines that can probably be set on "automatic" and give no receipts like any common adding machine, they probably don't care what voters think any longer. Thanks everyone for voting and sharing comments.

They would say he never existed if they could, like Georgia Superior Court said there is no Cochran Firm in Georgia and dismissed our lawsuit when those lawyers tricked my 80-year-old mother and never filed Larry's wrongful death suit against Shelby Co. Jail in TN and never even made them tell how they murdered poor, disabled Larry.

CAN IRAN BE ANY WORSE THAN THIS - KILLING MENTAL PATIENTS AND HIDING THE MURDER, THEN PERSECUTING THE FAMILY FOR ASKING WHY?

Lord have mercy. They attacked our website. Pray for us and for yourselves, Americans. Pray for your families. America used to go to the aid of oppressed people. Who is there to come to our aid. Who? We must trust in God.

Noted with a tearful heart dear Mary. THANK you so much for sending this to me. I have forwarded it to my 90+ friends as well. If you don't mind, I'd like to share an experience that happened to me. I haven't though of this horror in quite some time...but in a tiny way have experienced some of the cruelty...of being considered a "Mentally ill" person. This is my experience. I was living in a beach town called Del Mar, CA for the summer and was preparing for a little road trip to visit my mum. My bags were packed, I was in my little nitie and fell asleep on the couch. In the middle of the night there was banging on my door. BANGING LOUD! I thought my neighbor was in labor and needed help so I rushed to the door. I remember seeing two officers, a male and a woman. My left hand was holding the door when I opened it and sleepily asked, "what is going on"? They told me they were there due to a suicide 911 call....... I said, "Oh, no...there must be a mistake {and I must have shiften my weight and moved my left arm}. I WAS TAKEN DOWN. I was yelling and screaming like a madwoman. They hogtied me and dragged me to their police vehicle. THEY THREW ME on the FLOOR of the police car, hogtied, my nittie up around my neck and I didn't have on panties. I was crying hystercially, blood everywhere. They dragged me and I remember the gardener had come that day and there was dirt and pebbles embedded in the wounds on my face and knees. I was brough somewhere {I have blocked the exact location out} and was tied down with these leather like BELTS at my wrists and anckels. My "private" was open and all the many men and women COPS as well as EVERYONE working in "that facility" would come in and laugh at me. I BEGGED if they would pull down my nittie. I BEGGED for my life. They ignored me, my dignity, my nudity, my wounds...while they laughed and joked and..... At some point I asked if I could please go to the restroom. They laughed and told me to shat myself, I wasn't going anywhere so I might as well get used to it! LAUGH, LAUGH,LAUGH!!! It was a nightmare that lasted for YEARS. The truth is, they had accidently mistaken my address with someone else. I laid there for over 12 hours until they realized this. They didn't bother to even wipe the blood and rocks out of my face. Twenty years later I have a scar on my left cheak from that assault. THEY IMMIDEATELY PUT ME IN A ROOM, tended to my wounds and allowed me access to the tele. I phoned my mum and best friend. They flew in and arrived to pick me up. I had bruises and severe cuts for months...but PTSD for decades. I was so devistated that I was too afraid to sue {actually I don't believe in lawsuits...just me} but realized I could have "These cops taken care of". I actually met with "this person"...briefly. He told me the details and ended with asking me, "ARE YOU POSITIVE...AS THIS IS SOMETHING THAT CANNOT BE CHANGED". That was when God interviened and my anger turned to tears as I said, NO! I cried for years, but I now believe I know why this experience happened to me. It is so I could understand {in my small way} EXACTLY what you are fighting for dear Mary. I pray for you and your mothers safety at this time. My heart is breaking.

Since so many psychiatric facilities were closed and the patients released so they could have their freedom with little to nonexistent services many have become homeless. I am in no way excusing the actions of many police officers. But most of them have little to no training on how to deal with the mentally ill. It is a very sad situation.

May God bless you Mary as you fight for justice for your brother and the rights of the mentally ill. I will leave you with a quote that sums up how I feel about this situation.

God bless you, dear Care2 members and friends. You understand the burden we have at Assistance to the Incarcerated Mentally Ill to spread the truth. A nation cannot be judged by its wealth or high-flying flags, but by how it treats the least among us. In the USA, the mentally ill are too often treated like Susanne Dawn was in the account she gave of being abused by police officers who thought she made a suicide call. Many are killed.

Please go to the source article for this submission and read the memorandums by Nazi offiers to one another as they discussed genocide for Germany's mentally ill.

I often think of the poem you submitted, Sue. But according to the Jewish Virtual Library, it is incorrect in one point. First, they came for the mentally ill.

We are involved in a great battle to determine whether America's mentally and physically disabled citizens should be entitled to human/civil rights. We must decide whether America is to have expendable citizens - people who can be abused and murdered by the government without accountability. Our issues are not unlike those that faced the nation during the Civil War - whether this nation or any nation dedicated to equality, justice, and democracy can long endure. Here is Lincoln's speech, an address that my mentally ill brother repeated continuously throughout his lifetime. He loved it, and so do I.

Susanne, you are very brave to share your dreadful experience with us.
Thank you both, and everyone here, for all that you do.

Closing the Mental Hospitals, some of which at least were humane and provided therapy, and decent living for those who couldn't make it on the "outside", was a SCAM by the States which closed them, in order to SAVE MONEY.
Supposedly, the patients would be released to "community facilities" WHICH DID NOT YET EXIST AND WERE VERY SELDOM PROVIDED.
Supposedly, "new drugs" were to make it possible to release patients from lifelong care; but the drugs proved to be NO "MAGIC PILLS", and there was also no way outside of caring institutions, to ensure that the patients always took the drugs, or took them properly.
I remember when in the State of Washington the institutions were closed; and there were a lot of strange-acting, homeless people wandering the streets as a result.... this even before the present epidemic of homelessness.
Among others, veterans with PTSD as well as medical complaints, from various wars, are hit hard.....

This is a bad situation not only for patients and their families, but for the General Public -- there have been a couple of random, senseless murders in Seattle of people who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, by mentally-ill people who should have been under supervised care -- and, as someone said, it's bad even for the cops, who never can be sure what they're dealing with any more, so use violent restraints in an effort at "self-protection"..... come to think of it, there've been SEVERAL COP MURDERS in this State, by people who should've been in an institution, but had done nothing YET to put them in jail.....

Of course, the VAST MAJORITY of mental patients are NOT violent or awful people, but they are CONDEMNED to wander around, often not able to physically take care of themselves adequately, until they get into some kind of trouble and are then left to the "tender mercies" of jail rather than treatment..... and the same is true by the way of poor {as opposed to wealthy} drug addicts and alcoholics......

Part of the reason for this rotten situation is, that PRISON IS AN UP-AND-COMING PROFIT-MAKING INDUSTRY NOW; and so the MORE who are INCARCERATED, the BETTER... that is, the BETTER PROFITS, HUGE, HUGE PROFITS, FOR THE PRIVATE COMPANIES THAT OWN AND RUN THE PRISONS......

Again, this is a HUGE SCAM; because IT DOES NOT SAVE THE STATE GOVERNMENTS MONEY; rather, it COSTS MORE MONEY TO RUN PRISONS THIS WAY; but, the LOBBYISTS have their way in PROMOTING THIS WITH STATE LEGISLATURES..... so they MAKE THE PROFITS OFF OF THE TAXPAYERS; and do NOTHING, either to deter crime, or to rehabilitate either offenders, or people who are sick.......

DE-PRIVATIZE PRISONS and build NO MORE PRISONS AT ALL;
and provide, again, HUMANE INSTITUTIONS TO CARE FOR THE MENTALLY-ILL AND MENTALLY DISABLED that can't take care of themselves.
Take Prison OUT of the hands of Private Industry and Private Corporations;
and provide PLACES AND TREATMENT, AND CARE FOR THE "INCURABLE"
INSTEAD OF JAIL.
We can DO this if we TOTALLY ELIMINATE THE PRIVATE PROFIT MOTIVE and re-distribute our tax money wealth!

Thank you, Care2 News Network. We have this forum to share our viewpoint with one another and with our elected officials. Some of them still care.

BMutiny, THANK YOU for telling the whole story. You summed it up in one word - MONEY. People are suffering and dying - homelessness, increased violence, danger to our police officers and the general population as well as to sick people result from the never-ending quest to put more money in the hands of prison profiteers.

Sometimes, children are senselessly murdered, like the 9-year-old who was playing video games with his sick Uncle Morales, who had just been DENIED inpatient care. Most often, it is the mentally ill themselves who are abused and murdered by people in their communities, police officers, and prison guards.

The awful thing is that prison profiteers don't care if you are killed by a sick person who opens fire in a mall, because then they can arrest him for life and make millions in your tax money. That is what is really happening here. Public safety and equal justice to mentally challenged people are sacrificed to enrich the rich. It will continue until people get fed up enough to stand up.

I want to emphasize AGAIN, that I am NOT stereotyping mentally-ill people as "homicidal maniacs" because of the actions of a VERY, VERY, VERY FEW.
I am NOT defaming Larry Neal, or ANY mentally-ill person, in or outside of incarceration, in that way!
There is and can be, NO EXCUSE WHATSOEVER, for mocking, beating, torturing, killing ANYONE held helpless in jail or under restraints......
I just want to be ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that I am NOT MIS-UNDERSTOOD in that way! and that my words will not be TWISTED..... to say the OPPOSITE of what I mean! I know for sure there can be cyber-sabotage.....!!!

My point is that, because of LOBBYING BY PROFIT-TAKING CORPORATIONS, our society, acting thru its Legislators, and INFLUENCED BY PROPAGANDA, has come to look on PRISON AS THE "ANSWER" TO EVERYTHING.
To violent crime; to non-violent crime; to victimless "crime"; to homelessness; to alcoholism and drug use or addiction {by the poor!}; and to Mental Illness.
Why, you hear of judges with an interest in Prison Profits, sentencing young people JUST TO MAKE PROFITS OUT OF THEM WHILE IN PRISON; young people who were INNOCENT!
This is TOTAL CORRUPTION; but the SYSTEM ITSELF IS SET UP TO BE CORRUPT. It can't HELP but be corrupt!

People are seen EITHER AS A SOURCE OF PROFITS, or as "of no use".

I have had the experience, as you no doubt have had too, of having my words TWISTED by some of the Trolls that want to DISRUPT.......
and I wanted to FORESTALL that, just in case!

Those letters are truly amazing. Read about WHAT THE KIDS WERE SAYING.....Germans after WWII said "They didn't know anything". Americans WANTED to believe that.... but, if they had thought about it, THAT JUST WASN'T POSSIBLE......

The nazi's and even at times our post war societies (which have discriminated against and failed to support people with learning disabilities/mental handicap and people with mental health problems)were blind or in denial of the fact that mental health problems can affect anyone and that there is not a dividing line between the "us" (normal) and" them" (lesser ,objects of dread,threatening)..many people will experience depression,we all have a vulnerability to schizophrenia..it is merely a question of "at what point will stress,bring that out in any particular person ?".
All people have qualities that if allowed to come to the fore,can be a benefit to society..instead we drug up,incarcerate and fail people ,so that a life marked by waste becomes very common for those with need of support..not a boot on the head.Thanks Mary

Thank you, Panda. I appreciate your pointing out that we all have vulnerabilities, and no one should be murdered by their government or discriminated against in any way. A wise friend said to me, "Everyone eventually becomes disabled in one way or another if they live long enough." I must use glasses to read, but I am no less human than when I had 20/20 sight. Disability rights should concern everyone, because we are all human and have loved ones.

We must STOP being like German citizens were when Hitler targeted the mentally ill first, then included more and more people on his list for extermination. We must be proactive in seeing that everyone's humanity is respected, regardless of their race, socio-economic status, or health conditions. The concept of equal justice is a Godly concept worthy of our protection and full support.

Hello, Sanja. Thanks for pointing our that the people who are warehousing America's mental patients under cruel imprisonment are themselves quite mad - sociopaths, in fact. If you think about it, Hitler went after people who looked like himself. Some people hate others who remind them of what they consider their own faults. Maybe that is why there is such hatred for mentally ill Americans. Many of our decision makers are themselves sick. In fact, stats show that about 1 in 5 Americans has some type of mental problem. It is therefore reasonable that a good many elected officials and other decision makers are sick, too. WE must stop them from victimizing psychiatric patients.

Phyllis, you are right. People are ridiculed, ostracised, and punished - even murdered - for being different in any way. Discrimination is prevalent against minorities, GLBT people, foreigners, obviously poor and uneducated people, and just about every new kid in a second grade class. Nothing is allowed except uniformity.

We are to conform. We are to think alike, dress alike, and react alike to all stimuli. Otherwise, we can expect to be punished. That is terribly wrong, because God loves diversity. He showed that throughout His creation by making every single person and thing different. No one even has the same fingerprint on two of her fingers! Diversity is good. But society doesn't tolerate diversity very well. This hurts people, and it hurts weak people worse. Acute mental patients CANNOT conform. Therefore, they are Tasered, gassed, warehoused in prisons sometimes without criminal charges, and some are killed. That is why you and I must STAND for those who cannot stand for themselves. We must SPEAK for those who have no voice, those who are shut away in solitary confinement prison cells because they are deemed to be "unacceptably different." We must share their pain and BE their solution.

Thanks to all of you, my friends, for your loving hearts. Thanks for showing compassion for human suffering. I cannot tell you what your support means. Please share information about our work at ASSISTANCE TO THE INCARCERATED MENTALLY ILL with your friends, in your blogs, and during your personal conversations at work, at parties, and family gatherings. Although we are censored in mainstream media because our work threatens prison profiteers, word of mouth is a powerful medium.

AIMI is an avenue for us to channel our collective voice. Let us use it. Let us say loud and clear, CHANGE how mentally ill people in America are treated. We will NOT stand mute while they are imprisoned rather than treated for having a common, treatable health condition. We will not ignore their cries as they are being destroyed.
