DEATH PENALTY OPPONENTS' trouble is that they miss the point - executions are fun! That is why Thomas Arthur's DNA must not be tested before his July 31 execution in Alabama. He says DNA evidence can prove his innocence, and Alabama says, "Who cares?"

I sent an e-mail to the governor of Alabama. I hope many more will do the same. I don't know what kind of impact I will have as I am Canadian, but I couldn't let a man go to his death without at least being allowed to present DNA evidence related to his case. This should be the right of every person in the free world...no-one should be executed ever, and especially on such circumstantial evidence.

I added the petition site to the article and also sent it to thousands of my online members of various Yahoo groups. Hopefully, some will care enough to assist in this effort. I am sure Mr. Thomas thanks everyone for doing whatever they can to ensure that he gets an opportunity to have the DNA evidence tested. It just seems ridiculous to need petitions for this very clear RESPONSIBILITY on behalf of our courts to do everything possible to protect innocent citizens from wrongful prosecution and execution (not that I think execution is ever justified).
