An end to the necessary evil of euthanizing healthy animals is to be desired by all. However, the only way to achieve that is by FIRST reducing the population of companion animals. Then and only then can we stop euthanizing. Because more and more keep coming every day - we have neither the space nor the funds to warehouse all of them in sanctuaries.

Education, mandatory spay/neuter, and more education is the key.

I agree with a no kill policy to a point. Due to temperment it is at times best for the animal be layed to rest rather them giving to a home where he/she could hurt someone or if they are in a sanctuary the animals would attack each other, not live in peace but evil. This is also not fair to the animals.

It hurts me so much to see those huge bins full of wasted lifes. All governments all over this world should (1) Stop puppy mills. (2) Sterilization fees to be reduced for all owners to afford.

Signed long ago. I sure do wish that this would actually happen. I can't say how much I've longed for this.

i've noted this, but i cannot sign it. i can't agree with the mandatory spay and neuter. i do feel that most people should have these acts performed, but not in every single case. it didn't help things for ferrets. i understand this is about population control and not directly directed at health and quality of breeding, but there needs to be a more direct course towards responsible ownership and breeding.
