A MAN who used a baseball bat to bash a small dog belonging to the deaf son of his former girlfriend has had his jail term reduced on appeal. Vanessa Hansen wept and screamed at her former boyfriend, 32-year-old Storm Oxburgh, as he was led into the

Bloody disgusting! No wonder we have scums like this running around, we never put them away for good.

''You rot! You piece of s---,'' Ms Hansen screamed at Storm Oxburgh, 32, as the 14-month sentence, with a minimum term of eight months, was reduced in the County Court to 12 months - two months to be served immediately and the remaining eight to be suspended for two years

Should have heptupled the sentence!

Storm Oxburgh had recently become a father to his current partner makes me wonder how he is going to treat his own son...

TY, Simone.

Agree with Jim here. To do such a thing is already unacceptable and as this dog was perhaps the boy's "care pet" is unspeakable. All this leniency does is make people think they can get away with murder! Thanks Simone.

Where is PETA????? Where are all those animal rigths advocates, HSUS, ASPCA etc.?? This is why this type of things keep happening and will continue to unless...we SERIOUSLY take action. I see tons of Petitions, where is the one to keep this "person" jailed and punished to ther full extent of the law. Unless something changes our society is rotten.

I am appalled, why didn't the judge just apologise to Oxburgh for imprisoning him in the first place? Such a violent crime committed, not just against the poor little dog, but against a child and his ex-partner. Even though he did not hit them, the act was violent enough to be regarded as abuse.

Another one who gets away with a slap on the wrist. Disgusting!

Report after report of abuse points out violence toward the family pet as the significant point leading to the same and worse towards the wife/children. To beat a dog to death in front of a child already dealing with difficulties, to whom the dog was no doubt a huge source of comfort and strength, is to beat that child emotionally. There WILL be more violence from this man, if nothing else (like serious therapy) has been done to change his behaviour. I wonder what the judge will feel about his decision when it is too late....

How absolutely horrible for this child to witness the beating of his companion dog. Did the beast who did this ever think how it might affect this child for the rest of his life? This cretin needs to be bashed with an aluminum ball bat the same he did to this dog.

So what if he currently is in a "stable" relationship according to the judge and the fact he recently became a father, that is no reason to lighten his sentence, in fact due to the fact there is a new baby involved, this guy should have a longer cooling off period and not a shorter one. Relationships become unstable very quickly, especially when babies are involved. If the baby makes to much noise or takes to much time away from his personal needs, will he then beat the baby?

I would like to know the reason he did this, but I didn't see any reason ? Anyone else know why?

Does the judge own a pet? Does he have any family suffering from a disability? Just another example of liberal and and callou s piece of turd that should be forced into resigning! Does he believe in anything higher than his sorry a$$ .... I don't think so ... that bloody creep!

This must be one sad man. Is he going to treat his child like this?
Such a tormented sick person he is. Needs to go away for a very long time.I'm so sad for this child :(

This is so outrageous it makes me seeth with anger. Duckett is just another worthless judge who thinks that if the victim of a killing is an animal then it's not really a serious crime. He is just as dispicable as the POS who beat the dog.

A slap on the wrist! What sort of deterrent is that?!!!
This makes me so angry... what planet are the courts on to give such a lenient sentence... he should have been locked up for years!

This makes me sick to my stomach >.>

The evil bastard brutally slaughtered that boy's most beloved companion and friend, in front of his terrified eyes... yet "justice" gives him 2 months in prison. Let's say that again: The guy murdered in cold blood a living breathing being; whether the dog could talk or not changes nothing. He should be locked up for the rest of his life!

I wonder if the judge would have given a different sentence if the thug had killed the boy as well as the dog? Or if he's so detatched from reality that wouldn't have made a difference ...?

Appalling! This disgusting "man"(?) is a violent, cruel brute and the judge involved should be retired. Wonder how the judge would have sentenced him if he'd taken a baseball bat and battered him....

What on earth made him do this in the 1st place ? Such anger against a helpless animal makes me wonder about how he can possible be a good parent to a defenceless child. This is how it all starts. Those who torture animals go on to do the same to children I believe. Lets just hope that the short time he will spend in prision will be one he won't forget !!!

And now there is a defenceless little baby in the picture - I would have thought that would be reason for a MORE realistic sentence - not LESS!
When that bastard Oxburgh bashes the poor little mite - as almost inevitably he will - I wonder if that out of touch damned judge will take his share of the responsibility!

An appropriate sentance would be for him to be taken out the back and shot in the back of the head.
Why do these judges give such lenient sentences to these cruel killers?
The world is better off without them. Judges and killers.

so i wonder if you took out an add in the paper offering a fat reward for the cohonnies of that piece of s--t,when he got out of jail,or before, prolly a better change someone would take you up on it.would they accepted it !!and again i ask,how does that person deserve to be called a judge?there was no judgement there just the giving of a gift to a murderer!!the "judge" is almost as bad as the murderer.so sad for the pup,so sad for the child!
