Such a tragedy, the poor couple that were killed and the poor dogs that were abandoned and starved. I can not understand why the puppies were euthanized too though.

I don't understand about the pups either. I guess they did what they felt they had to do. So sad all round.

""It's just tragic all the way around. But if they had been properly taken care of, this would never have happened." said an officer. I agree. Thanks Simone for this update.

Just because the puppies were not healthy "ANYWAY" does not mean they don't have a chance to live. And just because they thought the adult dogs were aggressive, does not mean the pups are, too. Those pups could have lived. But they died too young. They deserved to be treated. Isn't that what the vet is for? Treat the animals that are unhealthy?

Thanks Simone.

Michelle and Simone, the puppies were put down because they were diseased, I know from a personal attack, that the dogs who have gone feral in the Southern part of the US are out for blood. It is a very sad situation but all feral dogs in the Southern part of the US should be put down because in their reversion to the feral way of life, they are fearsome creatures with no fear of man, There is also latent rabies infection to be considered as these feral dogs do not have vaccinations and that dreadful disease of rabies can be dormant in an animal while still being contagious to man and other mammals. Thanks, Simon, it is a dreadful story bit one that must be faced in all of its grim ramifications.,

This is so very sad. It is entirely the fault of our society that lets this sort of situation get out of hand. The person feeding them is not to blame as they were just trying to do the right thing for the animals. Whoever abandoned the dogs and left them to roam in the first place is to blame.

Such a distressing and sad situation... neglect of these dogs and no proper training is the result of this and th eowners should be held accountable

your right betsy these dogs have done tasted blood, even if they were adoptable there is a chance they would kill cats, chickens anything else they can get a hold of. its a bad situation but with only one choice.
