Signed! PAWS (Elephant Sanctuary) has an alert on these bears and they have even traveled to North Carolina to try and help but got no results. I told this govenor how this was traveling the internet and everyone was aware of the abuse these animals endured needlessly and how it was affecting the reputation of her and her state.

It is simply unacceptable for animals to be kept in environments like this, and it is especially so when the forum is a public one visited by children, such as a zoo. Why would anyone feel it is alright to role model this behavior? Even worse, why would anyone permit children to see this and learn that it is acceptable? We are teaching our children overtly bad behaviors when we allow people to set examples like this for them. I hope you will utilize the powers of your office to remedy this situation immediately. Think of what school children are learning about our society and about what we (obviously) feel is acceptable. It is NOT acceptable and I hope you'll be strong enough and compassionate enough to get this fixed right away - this is one lesson that American children should not learn, ever.
