Why do people insist on carting animals around, out of their habitat, and generally caging them up? Good Grief, stop this nonsense. Signed. Sigh.

What crime have these elephants committed? Prisoners in jails get association time with their fellow inmates and they get time off their sentence for good behaviour and they have been convicted sometimes of the most horrendous crimes! When the Europeans first discovered various different races, their first reaction was to take them out of their environment and exhibit them in freak shows and circuses etc ventures like Wild Bill Hickoks Wild West Show with real Indians, comes to mind. Clearly we now realise the cruelty and upset caused by such exploitation and taking animals from their family groups and exhibing them in tiny and inadequate accomadation is no different to the "Elephant Man or the bearded lady type of entertainment of the Victorian period, cruel and degrading!

i being a sri lankan don't agree with this i had no idear about this either. :( :( sad sad!! . thanxs for posting. im goner let all my other sri lankan friends know bout this petition. no animal should be prisoner.
