A dozen aged 17 Torreorgaz killed a donkey punching, kicking and inserting a stick into the rectum until it burst inside. This is despicable, such terrible suffering caused to an innocent, gentle animal. What is Spain going to do about the wretchedness

This is despicable, such terrible suffering caused to an innocent, gentle animal. What is Spain going to do about the wretchedness of their culture of cruelty? When youths can do this to a voiceless animal what hope is there for the future?

Please forward!

A dozen 17-year-olds sadistically tortured a hapless donkey by beating her up and raping her with a broomstick destroying her insides yesterday in Torreorgaz, Extremadura, http://www.elperiodicoextremadura.com/noticias/noticia.asp?pkid=473826 during the "celebrations" of the Quintos, a tradition where animals are often abused. There is pressure on the owners of the donkey to withdraw their complaint to the police. Please write asking for justice for the innocent animal and her owners so the monsters will not get away:

Ayuntamiento de Torreorgaz - Calle Del Moral, 1 - Teléfono: 927 20 50 01 / 927 20 52 03
Fax: 927 20 53 74 - E-Mail: aytotorreorgaz@yahoo.es

Sample letter:

(Traslation of sample letter:

We have read with horror about the torture to death of a donkey by a group of 17 year old savages in your municipality. We urge you to punish the criminals making an example of them and to forbid this celebration from now on. Your part of the world is now on my list of places I will not visit in Spain until it becomes civilized.)

I hope there is a special place in hell for people who do these inhumane things to animals. What is happening to humans? Are we losing all sense of decency? Animals don't deserve this kind of treatment. It makes me ill, just thinking about it. It's more than sick, it is evil in its purest form.

WHY DO SPANISH PEOPLE BEHAVE LIKE SAVAGES? YOU SET BULLS ON FIRE, YOU HAVE NO ANIMAL PROTECTION LAWS, YOU HAVE THIS SANTERIA RELIGION WITH ANIMAL SACRIFICE THAT NO AMERICAN AGREES WITH, YOU HAVE FORCED IT ON US, YOU TORTURE DONKEYS AND BULLS AND OTHER ANIMALS.

WHY DO YOU DO THIS?

I HAVE WRITTEN TO THE AMBASSADOR TO SPAIN AT THE EMBASSY YEARS AGO. NOTHING DID ANY GOOD.

THE REST OF THE WORLD HAS THEIR ABUSIVE PEOPLE, BUT IT IS NOT CONDONED LIKE IT IS IN SPAIN. THESE 17 YEAR OLD SAVAGES NEED TO BE PUNISHED. YOU NEED ANIMAL PROTECTION LAWS. WE DO NOT LIVE IN THE DARK AGES ANYMORE. YOUR FESTIVALS ARE A JOKE TO THE REST OF US, EXCEPT WE CRY FOR THE POOR ANIMALS.

PLEASE DON’T SAY YOU BELIEVE IN GOD. YOU HAVE NO MERCY FOR HIS CREATIONS. NO ONE WANTS TO COME TO YOUR COUNTRY AND SEE THIS.
THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY HAS A VERY LOW OPINION OF YOUR LACK OF COMPASSION. THOSE SAVAGES NEED TO BE PUNISHED. UNTIL YOU GET WITH THE CURRENT WAY THINGS ARE, YOU WILL BE CRITICIZED AND MUCH DISLIKED. YOU HAVE PEOPLE WHO BEHAVE LIKE SAVAGES. AREN’T YOU ASHAMED?

HURTING A POOR, DEFENSELESS, HELPLESS DONKEY. HOW SICK IS THAT?

spanish people behave like savages when it comes to animals and it's time someone said it. i'm sorry if i'm offending anyone where but america, england, australia and other countries have said it privately. If you would implement animal protection laws ( assuming you know what they are) your society would progress. How dare a bunch of savages rape a sweet, innocent donkey? What did she ever do to them? Is Beastiality a big thing in Spain? Stupid boys rape a donkey. This cruelty to donkeys for your "feasts" by the "beasts" has been going on for YEARS. GET OUT OF THE DARK AGES. BEASTIALITY IS NOT AN ACCEPTABLE FORM OF BEHAVIOR. ASK YOUR PRIESTS. THE WAY YOU CONDUCT YOUR BUSINESS IS DISGUSTING, SLOPPY, CRUEL AND PERVERTED. YOU NEED TO MAKE A NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION, AMIGOS. YOU NEED TO GROW UP.

I have sent emails. Those who have done so already might be pleased to hear that some of my emails bounced back because the recipents mail box was full -- that would imply a LOT of complaints already received. I really do hope that each complaint received turns into a representation to the Spanish government to change the laws.

Help! I tend to be technologically challenged - please advise the best places to send letters/emails. I'm confused by all the Turkish email addresses, didn't see any sort of explanation in the story. Is this a Turkish celebration held in Spain?

This is so incredibly sick! People who are this savage to animals will end up doing sick, cruel things to people... There is such a close link between animal abuse and abuse to vulnerable people like children and women, and just people, period. Where are their hearts? Where is their conscience? :( Who are these people!!??

If only I can meet with these twits, I would so beat the crap out of them. The animal did nothing for pete's sake! Just leave the animals alone! Sheesh! i think that's something even twits like these punks would understand. I don't care if its "traditional" that they steal chickens and go out at night ransacking the whole town or what the hell, what they did was indispicable, and for pete's sweet sake, is it really fun to kill innocent animals?!?!? If they were bored or were just looking for something to do, then why don;t they use their precious time and go to school!!! The only place I'd like to see these incredibly annoying and wretched twits is in jail... for a freaking lifetime!

Tuesday November 3, 2009, 2:40 pm
Probably won't do any good but I just can't sit here and do nothing about this horrific act. At least if we send emails they will see that people know what is happening in there backward and primitive country. Sorry, folks but when it comes to animal cruelty, the animals come first and nationality last. I stand up for the animals not the country. There is something terribly wrong with the Spanish people they are into to many animal cruelty festivals. The world has to stand up and do something with these people.

Dear Simone,

UPDATE ON COMMENT POSTED ON YOUR OTHER NEWS ALERT PAGE REGARDING THIS DEAR LITTLE DONKEY - I HAVE NOW SENT MY EMAIL LETTER TO THE: 30 EMBASSIES, 121 GOVERNMENT OFFICES, 58 SPANISH EMBASSIES & 144 OF THE SPANISH OFFICIALS LISTED ON THIS NEWS ALERT. (SEE BELOW)

Thank-you for posting this heart breaking, horrific & incomprehensibly barbaric story of the beautiful donkey that was so cruelly raped & slaughtered in Spain. You do not need to ask for FORGIVENESS for posting this story, you should be ''COMMENDED'. Myself & many other animal loving people may not have read this horrific story if you had not posted it. The more publicity this act of pure EVIL & SAVAGERY towards a sentient living being gets, the better. We may not be able to save this little donkey's life, (although I wish time could be turned back & her life could be spared), but we can make sure that this beautiful donkey did not die in vain. I have worked on other campaigns where we have sent masses of emails. If you receive messages saying 'User Over Quota' & your email is rejected, do not worry TOO much.

THIS IS BECAUSE THEY ARE BEING INUNDATED WITH SO MANY EMAILS, THAT THEIR 'SERVERS' CANNOT COPE WITH IT!!!! AT LEAST WE KNOW THAT THEY ARE BEING BOMBARDED, WHICH IS WHAT WE WANT TO MAKE SURE THEY GET OUR STRONG MESSAGE.

THANK-YOU FOR HAVING SUCH A TRUE & CARING HEART SIMONE. I KNOW EXACTLY WHY YOU POSTED THIS HORRENDOUS STORY, AS I HAVE DONE THE SAME WITH OTHER HORRENDOUS STORIES MYSELF. I TOO WAS SHOCKED, OUTRAGED & HEART BROKEN WHEN I READ THE STORY. THIS MAKES ME EVEN MORE DETERMINED TO DO EVEN MORE, AS YOU WILL READ IN MY LETTER THAT I SENT.

YOUR FRIEND SALLY D

BELOW IS THE EMAIL THAT I HAVE SENT TO: aytotorreorgaz@yahoo.es. MY EMAIL LETTER HAS GONE THROUGH!!!
________________________________________________________________________________________
JUST TO LET YOU KNOW THAT I HAVE NOW ALSO SENT MY EMAIL LETTER BELOW TO THE 30 EMBASSIES, 121 GOVERNMENT OFFICES, 58 SPANISH EMBASSIES & 144 OF THE SPANISH OFFICIALS LISTED ON THIS NEWS ALERT.

A FEW EMAIL ADDRESSES ON THE SPANISH OFFICIALS LIST CAME UP WITH: 'NO MATCH FOUND' (they have probably changed their email address, because they are getting inundated), BUT MOST OF THEM WENT THROUGH!!! I HOPE THEY GET OUR MESSAGES LOUD AND CLEAR !!!!!!

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN,

TORTURE & RAPE OF AN INNOCENT DONKEY IN TORREORGAZ, EXTREMADURA

We have read with 'HORROR' about the torture to death of a donkey by a dozen 17 year old savages in your municipality. We urge you to punish the criminals, making an example of them and to forbid this traditional celebration of the 'Quintos' from now on. I have never visited Spain & I will NEVER visit Spain until it adopts ANIMAL WELFARE LEGISLATURE to protect ALL animals.

To sadistically torture a hapless DONKEY by beating her up and raping her with a broomstick destroying her insides, is absolutely HORRIFIC beyond belief. The intolerable PAIN & SUFFERING this BEAUTIFUL DONKEY must have endured is too abhorrent to even contemplate.

SPAIN is a Country visited by tourists from all over the world. This is just reprehensible & these SAVAGES must be punished severely. What sort of MESSAGE are you sending out to the rest of the world if you allow the brutal torture & slaughter of this DEFENCELESS DONKEY to go unpunished?

As a Country you are visited by tourists from all over the world, who will not TOLERATE & who should not have to WITNESS such MINDLESS, SADISTIC & indiscriminate ANIMAL CRUELTY. There are many people from around the world, adults & children alike, who may have been visiting your Country. One of these tourists may have been at this celebration & had to witness this indescribably barbaric, sadistic & heart wrenchingly cruel torture & slaughter of this INNOCENT DONKEY. To witness such a despicable act, which is so horrific it is like something out of a 'CHAMBER OF HORRORS', could traumatise a person for life. We are living in the 21st CENTURY, not the MEDIEVAL PERIOD. As a Country, it is YOUR responsibility to implement ANIMAL WELFARE POLICIES that CRIMINALIZE anyone who commits this sort of atrocity, abuse or cruelty to ANY animal. How can you condone this behavior & do nothing about it & still expect to be treated with RESPECT as a Country.

I will be sending this letter out to friends I have all over the world who belong to various ANIMAL WELFARE SITES, ANIMAL WELFARE ORGANISATIONS & many other BODIES/GROUPS that are concerned with the WELFARE OF ANIMALS. This sickening story must get as much PUBLICITY as possible. I may even contact the TELEVISION 'MEDIA' in the UNITED KINGDOM & see if they will AIR this horrific story on one of our MANY news programmes. I belong to a lot of ANIMAL WELFARE ORGANISATIONS, as do a lot of my CONTACTS & FRIENDS. I will make sure this BEAUTIFUL DONKEY has not had to endure this horrific torture & slaughter in vain.

I am absolutely OUTRAGED, my HEART is BREAKING & I am CRYING inside when I think of what this INNOCENT LITTLE DONKEY had to endure. Not only was her precious LIFE taken away prematurely, she also had to SUFFER so horrendously during her last few moments on this EARTH.

If you as a Country do nothing to 'PUNISH' those responsible for this heinous crime towards a LIVING SENTIENT BEING then you are outwardly CONDONING this torture & murder of an innocent animal & should be UTTERLY ashamed.

I may only be ONE person, but I DO NOT GIVE UP EASILY. I speak for the MAJORITY when I say that this prehistoric savagery & cruelty towards animals that is prevalent in your Country or ANY other Country will NOT be tolerated.

All animals are SACRED and we should be teaching the ADULTS & CHILDREN of our WORLD to treat them with LOVE, RESPECT & KINDNESS.

From one who cares deeply for ALL the ANIMALS of our WORLD.

Spain: 03/11/09 Update and Further Action Re Donkey Killing by Sick In The Head Thugs

Subject: LATEST NEWS tortured donkey in Spain

Previous SAV Post:

PLEASE WRITE TO THE MAYORESS DEMANDING THESE MONSTERS BE TRIED FOR CRUELTY TO ANIMALS (SEE TEXT AND SAMPLE LETTER BELOW).

PLEASE CIRCULATE THIS WIDELY.
http://www.20minutos.es/noticia/556119/0/burra/muerta/torreorgaz/

The Mayoress of Torreorgaz, Concepción Polo, has read a statement condemning what was done to the donkey on Friday and also a letter from the parents of the teenage sadists apologizing for them and taking full responsibility, but get this: the Court for Minors only wants to prosecute based on “damages” because the animal died of a “heart attack” and not of the wounds !!!!!!!!!!

Please write again to the Mayoress’s office aytotorreorgaz@yahoo.es and tell her you are NOT buying this absurd excuse and that you demand that the criminals be tried for cruelty to animals under the 5/2002 legislation.
Ayuntamiento de Torreorgaz – Calle Del Moral, 1 – Teléfono: 927 20 50 01 / 927 20 52 03
Fax: 927 20 53 74 – E-Mail: aytotorreorgaz@yahoo.es

Sample letter:

Name and country

Translation of sample letter

I have just read with total disbelief that the teenage torturers of the donkey are being accused by the authorities merely of “damages” because the animal died of a “heart attack” and not of his wounds. Please do not treat us like idiots, the animal died of the terrible beating he received and of the brutal rape he suffered and we don’t care which one of his organs failed first, the law 5/2002 (*penal code) must be applied plus a civil suit. Any excuse to avoid a real punishment for these individuals would be a grave mistake on your part as you have a group of psychopaths in your midst and it is a fact that serial and child killers start by torturing animals to death as in this case.

This is despicable that something this terrible would be of interest to these teens, hum and where could have they got this kind of an idea? Almost makes you wonder doesn’t it?
I am so sad that this happened to this innocent animal. These kids need to watch their backs, what goes around comes around in the end…No excuse here.

Just when you think you've heard all the different kinds of animal cruelty....

These "children" are without empathy and other qualities that make a human being. To call them "animals" would be a huge insult to animals. Somewhere between 'devils' and 'monsters' is more appropriate. I pray some judge doesn't call this atrocity "childish pranks."

What is really sad is the mindset of the country of Spain. They torture bulls, torture donkeys, etc for fun and in the name of a festival or celebration?? I know that there are probably many Spainards who do not abuse animals but it seems it is the tradition for the most part. We really need to put the pressure on Spain as far as holding back our tourist dollars and letting them know it. There are many places in the world I want to see, but I'll choose to visit and spend my money in a country that does not abuse and torture innocent animals in the name of fun! This is sick, sick, sick and very sad as well.

This is such a sad piece of work to even read.
This type of cruelty, animal torture and inhmane acts against a living creature take years to instill in a human mind.
These type of acts are learned behavior. These young people learned this from grown adults..and there in lies the problem. After years upon years this type of actions are witnessed by young children, and the spiral spins ever on into the the present situation of utter sickness and pain for this poor innocent animal.
There is something wrong with a community, and it political leaders when these kind of actions go on for so long without action being taken by anyone of authority that can actually do anything about this sick act.
These people do not care. Not until people like us, her at Care 2 can make the loudest noise possible around the world.
The only thing that we can do is to spread the word about these horrible, shamefal actions to the whole wide world......to every world wide news source we can....Pride is a big thing in cultures such as this, and we must see if we can get this situation to a larger news source that can spread the word everywhere.....
Perhaps the United Nations can be a source as well.

Heartbreaking.....Mails sent previously, and just sent the one to the Mayor's office. No doubt they will go unpunished for the heinous and sadistic torture of this poor little donkey!! We very rarely see any justice for the torture of an animal !!
I hope these monsters burn in hell, after a long and painful death!!!!
Thankyou Simone.

why are surprised by these acts from a country like Spain. have you never wondered what the bulls endure in the rings, dying in extremis with the cheers of the crowd, their last sounds? Remember this is the country of the inquisition and Torqumada. That the donkey suffered is a fact, but what has to be addressed is the general mentality of the people, which in thousands of years hasn't as yet developed!!

Interestingingly I found this in a textbook of mine when I was in college, and it touches on "intercultural commuication" with other countries. Animal abuse is still animal abuse no matter where it occurs in IMHO.
But I was able to find the statement online..and it is a get source to read for further concern on animal cruelty.

Practical Sermons
On Cruelty
But is man only cruel to his own species? Surely not: and, therefore, when we talk of mercy, we do err by confining it to our fellow-creatures. It is then but partially urged, and consequently its effects are but partial. Thus a man will disclaim the imputation of cruelty, if he offend not the people about him, although he live in the daily exercise of barbarity against domestic and dependant animals. Will not the horse-dealer, and the gentleman that acts like one (O shameful ambition!) furnish us with a long catalogue of cruelties, that are daily committed for the sake of alluring the whimsical fancy of hard-hearted, but fashionable men? To mutilate and to deform a serviceable and harmless animal, under the silly idea of improving what the Deity hath already made perfect in its kind, is, to say no worse, the most egregious folly; but where can any spark of generosity or mercy be found in that man, who, for the sake of the slightest pleasure of the will, or for the sake of amusing himself with the agony of their forced exertion, urges on his horses to the utmost of their speed and strength, sometimes to the very point of death, by the most intolerable torture?

Behold the relentless ruffian, who, without the fear of God before his eyes, in sport, or for paltry gain, ties a tame fowl to the stake of torture, where the inoffensive creature receives many a full-aimed stroke from the bludgeon on his defenseless and tender body. His piercing screams, his violent, but ineffectual struggles to escape, his dislocated and flagging wings, his bones bruised and broken, his head and beak dropping blood, instead of drawing tears and heartfelt sorrow from the spectators of this woful tragedy, give occasion for triumph and exultation; for the callous, the vulgar, the obdurate monsters in human form, shout, with fiend-like joy, at the too sure direction of the weapon; and when at last the death-stroke arrives, the savage herd bring another poor innocent victim to the stake. O shame to manhood! for cowards are cruel; but the brave love mercy, and delight to save. O shame to the people of England! for in this country alone this abominable cruelty is committed.

O shame to our legislature, that could ever tolerate this bloody act of inhumanity! and although it be now forbidden by our laws, and it be prevented in the great cities and towns, yet in many villages, the officers of justice do deserve the highest censure for their negligence, and because they are not merciful enough to enforce the laws against the execrable perpetrators of this sanguinary deed * The dreadful anniversary of cock-throwing, doth always fill my mind with the most painful agonies and apprehensions. I have publicly declared in my neighourhood (finding that the laws are not duly put in force) that I will never employ, nor aid any persons, who are themselves guilty of this cruelty, or who permit their children to practise it. If this were, the general declaration and resolution of all the compassionate men in the realm, I apprehend that the abominable custom of cock-throwing would soon be quite abolished.

I need not trouble you with the description of all the various cruelties that are hourly practiced on the inoffensive creatures around us; such as are committed by the unprincipled youths on birds, reptiles, and insects; such as are committed even by religious and philosophical men in their amusement of angling, or in the trying of curious, indeed, but yet well known or useless experiments. But let us take shame of ourselves for too often standing by, although not as agents, yet as unconcerned spectators; not duly considering, that if we would please God, we must imitate his agency in the care and preservation of his creatures.

Now, cruelty to a harmless animals affords a strong suspicion of man's general inhumanity and temper; for if they, without a cause, suffer torture from his hand, surely nothing but the laws of the land, or the fear of retaliation, do restrain his violence from his fellow-creatures.

As prevention is better than cure, and as common acts of cruelty are often perpetrated for want of knowing better, we should carefully instruct our children in this great principle of humanity, and habituate them to acts of mercy and compassion. We should never indulge, but rather check with asperity, their wish to possess any thing, which, in their hands, might suffer torture or death; always remembering the words of Solomon, "Train up a child in the way he should go, and he will not depart from it." How pleasant will be the reflexion, when our children become eminent for their integrity and benevolence, that they are indebted to an early care for their real honours! How pleasant the reflexion, that when we die we may be rewarded hereafter, for having been good shepherds over the little and harmless flock entrusted to our care.

Please go to this site, this is the donkey santuary that is taking legal action against these scums-

El Refugio del Burrito is coordinating through the social network Facebook all the pressure measures needed so that a murder like this does not go unpunished and the public administration do their part and enforce the corresponding laws.

“We invite everyone to join our cause so such horrible things don’t ever happen again” says Salvía.

If you want to collaborate, or want more information, please visit our website www.elrefugiodelburrito.com or our Facebook page. You can also contact us on (00 34) 952 031 622 or email info@elrefugiodelburrito.com

Those young people that did this sick, perverted crime to a poor animal will pay when they stand before GOD, and hopefully they will pay in this life time too!! It takes a sick demented person to hurt another person or animal and one way or the other they will pay their just dues!! May GOD have mercey on their souls because if it was up to some people like me they would get what they deserve NOW!!!
