Every year, moms and dads take their kids to Ringling Bros. circus for a little "family fun," but what they don't know is how baby elephants are cruelly tied up and electro-shocked in order to force them to learn how to perform tricks. Parents never

How awful. And to think, when my children were young, I took them to this circus. :-( I had no idea the animals were treated so inhumanely at the time! Now I do what I can to help prevent the abuse of all animals, including circus animals. I think that there should not be any animal in a circus forced to work to please humans.

Story noted. I will never understand how we (humans) can do this sort of thing to innocent animals. What a shame. I never liked the circus.

If I ever have kids, I will teach them of the atrocities of zoos and circuses. I never liked them because I always wondered about how I would feel if screaming kids came up to my CAGE and started poking at me... not a good thought

Can't believe circuses are still allowed to have animals. It's shcoking that animals are still abused in this way.

I took my daughters as toddlers almost 20 years ago and that was enought for me and them...Since that time we have boycotted circuses and tried to educate acquaintances and classmates on why they shouldnt go...another example of animals as sad

Very sad. Cirque du Soleil is the only circus we go to now. All humans, no animals. Awesome show.

One more thing, go to the Demand Action for Baby Elephants button and sign the petition to Tom Vilsack, official with USDA, urging him to revoke Ringling Bros license.

This is all I've been talking about at work for the past 2 days ! I've even collected more email addresses just to send PETAS video to them ! AND I've gotten my daughter to promise never to take my Grandchildren to a circus ever ! Thank you Simone for posting this , and a big thank you to PETA for being the "pitbulls" that you are .. once they're on to you they don't give up !! :)

Somehow when you see all the terrible abuses the animals go through to get them show time ready, just doesn't seem to make any normals sense at all. They, the circus people, claim the elephants are just doing their normal motions, but these photos show just not normal all these show acts are.

Years ago, when we were all younger and even when we took our children to the circus, we thought we were going to see animals doing things that came natural to them, but we never saw the behind the scenes abuse that always took place/ Here is one more way that the interner has become so usfull. We can see and make judgement calls on whether to go to a circus now days.

What's heartbreaking is when I always have to tell Sissy we can't go.
Now I've taken her and walked around so she can see the animals.
And so they can hear me educating her about how it's all wrong.
That one year they had all kinds of hired want ta be cops, & they were sweating like crazy. I gotta get a t-shirt with AAA on it

You know this is just so sad. So much has been said already about how cruelly these animals are treated and people just don't seem to get. I have a feeling peple who go to see animals in circuses just don't seem to give a shit. This HAS TO STOP!!!!! You wouldn't do this to a human being so why to an animal? These trainers deserve to get a stick shoved up their you know what! It is just sickening!!!!
