The attempted reinvention of Michael Vick continues tonight with the premiere of BET's "Michael Vick Project" -- a quasi-documentary that focuses on his alleged redemption and glosses over the horrors he perpetrated on dogs.

Sick bastard - he shouldn't be left alo
ne with any animal ever. I wouldn't trust him to be reformed - cruelty like this is way too deep seated and monsters like him justify their actions to themselves pretty effectively.

I can see which has the nicer face despite the mutilations! Shame act of gross PR hype to present this person in a warm light. Wonder if this media PR company ever had Stalin or Hitler on their books!

I have only just heard about this guy! OMG - it has been quite some time since i have been so sickened by a story. People like this don't reform, they just become very devious and skilled at hiding their sins.

Do anyone of us know him personally? My guess would be no. Yes he did a horrible thing but how do any of us know if he has or hasnt changed.we dont and it is not right for us to sit up here and pass judgement on anyone.Everyone can change. It is attitudes like this that cause people released from prison to not be able to find a decent job.

not watching not supporting hopefully low ratings will cancel and he can go about redeeming himself privately maybe if someone did a show on ex prisoners and how they try to put their lives back together i would be interested i am not interested in celebrities and their shenanigans.

Simone, once again thank you for a great article and for the work you do to help the Animals. I've never liked football, I think making heroes of most athletes is not a great thing. Our School Teachers should be heroes, among alot of other people that are overlooked in our society. Only time will tell if Vick really feels any remorse over what he's done. I would really like to see Vick put his money where his mouth is - like a few million $ to help stop dog fighting, or any kind of animal cruelty for that matter.

noted - I didn't want to lose my supper so I skipped the video. I feel enough bile just hearing his name.

Right - then we go right back to eating chicken (raised in horrible conditions, boiled alive) beef (slaughtered while still alive) pork (you get the general idea).

What can we do? Here is my recommendation - buy only meat approved by PETA. If PETA says the animal was treated humanely, it probably was.

Vick is a bastard that tortured and murdered dogs with his own two hands...anyone capable of doing that is a sadistic killer and I don't give a damn that he did 'time' and now is 'sorry'. His sorry a** should be in PRISON.
Since it is NOT, he should donate 90% of every penny he makes-for the rest of his life-to animal charities.

allowing a convict to return to society is one thing. Seeing him return to the NFL, giving him a TV show, and topping it off with a “courage award” based on — what? — are quite another.
Michael Vick has every right to pursue and obtain those things. I’m not saying he should be banned from reaping riches, or anything else, with the possible exception of dog ownership — only that it turns my stomach to watch it all, and to watch the masses not just accept it, but throw their support behind him.
He is a monster! If you are good at any sport these days you can pretty much do whatever and they "rehabilitate" you give you a "pass" write you a big check and put you back in the game. Makes me sick.
