Simone, thanks for the update......reports like these never stop giving me nightmares....I didn't know that China has tigers imprisoned for profit and for death!! The more that is revealed about what humans do to animals, the more I can't find anyplace to put my anger and horror. Who are these disgusting, vile, sick, evil people we share the planet with?

This is soooooo soooooo overwhelmingly sad... I got to know about tiger farming in zoos in China very recently, but did not know the exact details... thanks so much for spreading this awareness simone. Noted, signed, forwarded and will be remembered. I feel so lowly to call myself a human being living on a planet where the voiceless animals are perpetually tortured. I have decided never to visit this sick country .. not even for the sake of job. I truly believe that only a complete boycotting of Chinese products and stopping visit to the country, thus declining tourism, on a global scale can compel this inhuman society to listen to us

I was talking to someone last night who had visited China and been to a place were there were around 200 tigers, the keepers told him that they did not kill them for their bones etc but that if one of them died it was ok to then use it in medicine sounds to me like that was the whole reason they kept them. Totally disgusting

What will happen with this petition? I don't see anything about where it's going to go. And, though I signed it, I don't think 5000 names on it will really do anything! Do you really believe this atrocious and illegal activity is going to stop because of a petition with only 5K names on it?

China has over a billion people, most of whom know nothing about this place or the trade, or even care about it. Those that do know are the ones who could do something about it, but they don't because of their ignorant, backward and superstitious beliefs.

The Chinese government doesn't care about most of the problems in their country. They say one thing while allowing all the corruptions to continue. They lie while they hide these illegal activities and allow them to flourish. Just look at the history with the toy industry. They stop putting lead in and on toys, but then they put cadmium in it's place. They allowed the pollution of milk products that killed and sickened thousands of their own children. They produce crappy materials that they sell world-wide for the construction business, many of which are highly toxic.

Again, it all leads back to overpopulation of humans and the ignorance of the masses.

I don't understand the mentality behind all this, but I know it exists and have little doubt it will continue, no matter what we do and say here.

Jill E...was following this horrid news about our special creatures, in my opinion, we can sign petitions make our voice heard and do as much as we can.

Sometimes it WORKS, sometimes sadly NOT...but, it is always better to at least try and do what we can for these creatures!!!

I am so sad to hear of more abuse in China, a place where they skin animals alive supposedly to enhance the quality of the fur which is used to trim coats, line gloves, etc. Beware of what you buy to wear. Is the trim real fur or faux fur......are you sure?

To all of you commentators: I live in China and can confirm that it's all true. Sadly, neither the people nor the government care about animals here and there are no human rights, either. It's a greedy nation raised on a mass concept of selfish and materialistic values- the communism is long gone.
Since they instated the one-child policy, Chinese children are treated as gold, are allowed to do anything and everything at everyone's expense without consequences, so they have no sense of consideration, decency, respect for others, sympathy or sharing. I'm a teacher, I witness this every day and I try to change them every day; I try to open their eyes by teaching that with every action comes responsibility and consequence, yet as soon as they leave my classroom their heads are once again filled with lies, carelessness and dollar signs (or RMB, for that matter).

In my opinion, the best way to get China's attention from the world's point of view would be to completely boycott their products or their industry in general, as I do. Hit them where it hurts, so they start feeling something and hopefully develop a degree of compassion.
When you can't beat them, join them and then beat them!!

Look at what they do the dogs in china for fur! The officials there do not care, you are waisting your time. Look a the PETA video of what has been done and is still being done to the dogs there. China could care a less about their people let alone animals. China is a whole other world. You cannot communicate with them, just like you are unable to comunicate with Afganastan officials about it's people and fighting.

I have written to China about it, it does no good. China is disgusting regarding it's market of businesses and how the people make money there. The people there do what they have to and if you think they are going to listen to an American who has a heart and loves animals and does not want to see them suffer you can think again. Their government could care a less what America thinks.

Take a look at the PETA video on fur in China, it will make you sick and want to go over there and help. It is their way of life and making money. That is what they do, Kill for a living! That is what China is. Do you really think they have feelings for people? I don't. I will sign, but good luck. More of China's cruelty needs to be on the News. Look at Aghanastan, they cut their wives noses off and ears and their government does nothing either. You see all this stuff on the News also, but no one can do anything about it, it is not America, it is antoher country. We do not rule other countries. If we did, things would be a whole lot different I'm sure even though we do have some of our own that are just as monstrous in America.
