Good idea! I hope other shelters will follow their lead on this one. I'm really saddened and appalled that this is necessary in this day and age though. Apparently there are still a few too many sadists and superstitious nut-jobs out there. What is wrong with people? One other point, if you happen to have a black kitty, make sure you keep it safely indoors during the Halloween season.

Yes, this is a good idea for the safety of the black cats. There is a lot of evil going around come Halloween time. Noted/thanks Simone

Black Cats are beautiful and sleek - it is pple's silly superstitions and fears that is the cause of bad things being done to black cats or not adopting them. TY Simone. Peace & Harmony

Yes, there are many satanic rituals that go on with black cats around Halloween.

Kudos to the shelter for ensuring the safety of their black cats, i have 2 black cats and they're such a joy to have. Black cats here are treated as being very lucky. Thank you Simone.

well it's nice to hear about a shelter who is truly interested in the welfare of animals
and no matter what color the cat, seeing that they get loving and safe homes.
