There is nothing uglier than a person who doesn't care how their makeup was developed. Signed.

Mineral oil is one of the WORST (petroleum process by-product) things you can put on your skin. Cosmetics companies use this in many of their products. Try to find skin care without this... the truth is there are VERY few. ALSO - I am concerned with animal testing. If it is not on the label - "No Animal Testing" - I do not buy it !

The ugliest truth about beauty is that these harmful chemicals/cosmetics are poured into the eyes of animals in the Draize test, forced down their throats in the LD50 test, and rubbed onto their shaved raw skin to check for reactions. Torturing animals for human vanity is insane!

went on a beauty blog website. Couldn't find any topics on cruelty free!! (Started my own). I'm sure I am not the only one interested on the topic. I wonder about theatrical make up for the stage (I'm into theatre). Any cruelty lines there?
Just got a heavy metal test back. I'm loaded with lead more than a bag of buckshot. There's lead in those lipsticks, tuelene in nail polish (bad, bad, bad for the brain) and probably lots more nasty things like cadmuim.
tossed out all cosmetics that didn't have the running bunny symbol or "not tested on animals".Amazing how many there were! but, it will be nice to go on a new shopping spree!

Beauty is only skin deep. I have seen more beautiful people on this site than on TV or the big screen. What you are in your inner self is the true beauty (or ugliness).

The saddest part of the cosmetic indurtry, is that they are aware of the dangers of the chemicals they use. They need not inflict pain on unwilling animals. Cosmetics can be made, carefully and without dangerous ingredients, but they are always looking for a way to save a few pennies.

As stated above, mineral oil is, along with lanolin, something you want to avoid.

Done. The cosmetic industry has gone under the radar because it involves a sex that's not really important . . . women. This is not the only issue that needs examination, false advertisement is rampant in the industry. Conning those with fragile egos into the bottomless pit of eternal youth while emptying their wallets.

I was just going to spend out on a natural product the other day, that advertised that it had 'no nasty chemicals' in it and that it was safe for children.... and when I read the label, it had titanium dioxide and other cancer forming chemicals in it!!!!! Maybe the cosmetic companies really ARE not aware that some of the ingredients are harmful! If they don't, then they need to learn in a hurry! Thanks Simone!

I would agree with the purpose, and also would sign but...is it sure that the hole thing will not became another manoeuvre to to push forward, once agin, the sadistic interests of those who claim a right to exeperiment any kind of useless poisons on animals?

Revlon, Clairol, Mary Kay, take note. I always questioned Ellen D. and her cosmetic ads - yet she supposes to be a defender of animal rights. Is it the money Ellen? The same disgust goes for Queen Latifah - queen of Revlon.

Although I personally don't wear much in the way of make-up or beauty products (basically just cleansers), I know many people who do and I care about their health. This is a great petition. Good luck with getting your signatures!
