Laws regarding animal cruelty arent enough to prevent it from happening and the punishment for these heinous "misdemeanor" acts are rarely more than a slap on the wrist. We ask that you move these cases into Felony Terrorism. One cannot deny that these

"Horrible cruelty to animals is rampant in this country, yet punishments for these crimes remain minimal. Individuals who are intentionally cruel to animals are capable of other atrocities as well. It is inexcusable that these crimes are not treated more seriously." # 304

I agree these offense should be felonies, but "terrorism" is not the right word. This needs to be fixed to be taken seriously (and also then I will sign.) Good thought, though.

Damn right it should be considered terrorism! If animal welfare activists can be charged as terrorists for posting undercover video of the abuse (which violates the law) that goes on inside of an animal enterprise under the AETA bill then by all meas acts of animal cruelty should be charged as such.

Sheila P. (99)
Monday November 8, 2010, 7:52 pm
I disagree with the term "terrorism" as well because of the way our government has been exploiting the people with it.

Maria Eugenia Escobedo (33)
Monday November 8, 2010, 8:15 pm
Signed and spread. Though the term "terrorism" might not the apropiate one, the important issue is that we protest against this horrible crimes people everywhere commit against innocent beings. Thank you Simone.

Agree that the laws are too lax...but these laws would HAVE TO apply to ALL animals, not just the select "lucky" ones that humans happen to like, such as dogs and cats. This kind of law MUST be universally applied to ALL animals for the sake of consistency and logic and not be arbitrarily withheld from some animals because they are "food" (i.e., someone is making a profit selling their flesh and other parts).

All violence towards animals by humans is a form of human-perpetrated terrorism, and the worst suffering and victimization is suffered by animals incarcerated in concentration camps known as "factory farms" and "research laboratories." They MUST be the FIRST non-humans to benefit from any such law in my view. Just applying stiffer laws to those who hurt 'dogs and cats' isn't enough and is inconsistent with logic and morality.

Noted, signed. Thanks for the alert, Simone :)

N'd and Signed #608, Thanks Simone.

Tired of waiting for it to be taken more seriously!! Anything and Everything they must do, as long as it means much-harsher laws!! Max jail time (which should be tougher/longer), larger penalties (with added going to animal Charities), baned from ever owning a animal, and put on a list, for all animal abusers.

Terrorism: certainly animal torture is, but itcan be important for the success of the petition see if it has to be considered as a legal word and then if it works.

People like this don't deserve to live, if they can do this to a animal they can easily do it to humans. It is disgusting to look at these poor animals being hurt in such a manor, and for those people who do it to get away with a $5000 dollar fine. If I had it my way they should have suffer in jail for the rest of there lives.
