A bell sounds, the gates flare open, and thoroughbred horses leap into action. Crowds scream and cheer, shaking small white stubs in their tightened fists as they yell "RUN!"

TROTT has started in California, but efforts are being made to expand nationwide.
Good article, thanks Simone. Noted, shared.

Thank goodness someone has finally started seeing racehorses as other than dispensable income.

Old racehorses can make good gentle mounts to introduce children to horseback riding. Better than a glue factory or Macdonalds burger meat plant...

Retired thoroughbreds need a place to retire to.
TROTT sounds like an excellent program for these runners.

All animals have the right to live in peace, not having to do things for people to make Money!

This is great. I have a rescued TB that apparently didn't "make it" on the track and her original owner was disappointed in the results as a broodmare, so he gave her and another TB mare away. That person starved both mares, one died and I have the survivor. She has a pedigree to die for........her sire stands at stud for $33,000 and sired this year's Preakness winner, but I can't even re-home this mare because nobody wants a TB!

Great idea but we need to make those that are causing the problems, the breeders to become more responsible for the mess they are creating. They are a throw away industry and this has to stop. Don't go to horse or dog races and stop this industry.
