As their habitat continues to disappear from global warming, polar bear mothers are being forced to swim farther to find ice, to the peril of themselves and especially their cubs.

Unfortunately this is one more of those petitions I can't sign. I agree with Michela. Why are some petitions only for Americans to sign? The world, it's animals, children and enviroment belong to everyone. Not only Americans.

Signed. It is the fault of people that they are in this position. The least the government can do is protect them. Unfortunately it's hard to get to take responsibility for their actions.

Some of our government idiots care nothing for wildlife, while others go overboard and prioritise the wildlife too far over humans. Humans and wildlife should be about equal, both sharing the land. Cut off the extremists. Challenge big oil to develop and demonstrate Arctic oil cleanup and build leak-resistant drilling platforms before allwoing them in the Arctic. Teach people to live with their wilderness neighbours, not over them.

These poor animals. One would think they'd be safe in the arctic...but no. Humans have manged to destroy that habitat too.

Unfortunately I could not sign because I'm outside the United States. I think this is an issue that involves the entire planet and all people should have chance to participate and show their displeasure with many things that are global, such as indiscriminate killing of animals (polar bears in this article).

for those in other countries you can make up a Canadian address, everyone has access to an atlas surely and get a postcode from Canada Post. The government wont bother to check the names.

Global warming will inevitably result in the extinction of Polaar Bears. It is essential that maximum protection be given to them. Unfortunately I doubt if there is any chance of America reducing its energy use unless and until every other country in the world has reduced their energy use. I fear that the selfish and revengeful US psyche will never take an action merely to save another species from extinction.
