Many of the countries whose forests are being clear felled are developing countries, but even many Western countries are still shaving the planet of natural habitat at an irreversible rate. We are in the middle of a mass extinction.

So Gladly Signed. The forest is the last of the beauty of the earth, why destroy it and our oxygen supply as well. Trees are life.

Lots of government officials worldwide, and their corporate cronies, should be in prison for CRIMES OF ECOCIDE, frequently in violation of their own laws. Gladly signed and shared, thanks!

"Just compare Haiti to The Dominican Republic. Why would any sane country allow that kind of destruction? ...and for what?? Once these resources are gone, they are gone & you have the devastation of your won greed to deal with. Will you take your precious money and buy back the forests?"

"Only when the last tree has been cut down; Only when the last river has been poisoned; Only when the last fish has been caught; Only then will you find that money cannot be eaten."

It was true then; it is true now.

This is a great thing to do end logging in all forests around the world, then clean up the air polution, which trees are good at doing, I am in favour. Thanks for message noted and signed and commented also.

As the population of our overcrowded planet increases so will the demand for its diminishing resources. We either come up with an acceptable plan to stabilize and reduce our burgeoning numbers or increase the size of our planet, which is of course beyond our capabilities, before we start waring with each other over who gets what and how much. If that were to happen the weakest and meekest among us would be the first to suffer, as they do now of course.
