In 2001, the European Union enacted a legislative decision to improve the welfare of pigs by phasing out the use of individual crates for confining pregnant sows. These "sow stalls" restrict movement so severely that sows cannot even turn around

Unfortunately we live in hope ....
I hope that my EU fail to comply with Directive 2008/120/EC as soon as possible, so that the pigs may have, albeit in an almost ridiculous, a better life.
