I don't think so! This is a definate NO NO in my opinion.

I am against any type of pitting an animal against one another for sport! Football is a sport, not hurting or making our animals to do cruel things to each other for humans to gawk at!

This really pisses me off to no end, because no animals really are meant to fight one another, this is the humans doings, dang idiots! Shame on them! What the heck is wrong with these people that think this is okay for entertainment. Is it for the money? or for sport?
Do they have any compassion? OHHHH, I am outraged...to say the least.

I so signed my friend Simone, I am #56. Thanks for the heads up on this post, noted w/anger for humans that do this type of crap to our innocent animals.
I also thank Lyn for forwarding. I will pass this on.

I sure pray for our innocents.
Blessings to all,
FreeSpiritRunning...

Gads, how much more pain can humans think up to inflict on innocent animals? Are humans becoming that tyrannical? I don't believe any animal should be involved in any kind of fighting, or anything else painful without the written consent of the animals involved. Wonder how humanity would overcome that one.

Presently, the over the world I think there is a break down of concience.Humanbeings do not see the animals as partner in the human race. Completely wrong. The animals even though they are lower do deserve some form of protection and care from the human race. All forms of cruelity should be abolished. In China and some other parts of Asia birds(chickens)are used for gamble-fight.These acts must stop.Signed and noted with a passion.

Morsels are what people who do such things as this to put two horses together and let them fight even to death. How dare them even call themselves human, I wish these horses would in turn get mad and go at these people and kick them in the heads it would be well in there turn, these horses don't know why they are pited against each other but I know if I were there this would not happen for I would be going to jail for believe you me I would be shooting off my 9 mm a couple of times to stop it and save the rest for what ever my life if that is what it took. signed Thanks Simon signed with ager at these idoits

This is appauling and for those of you who say its "the best sport ever" you should be ashamed of yourselves. I have owned horses all my life and i couldnt dream of seeing them go through such trauma. This needs to be stopped ASAP. Horses are one of the most beautiful animals in the world and they dont deserve this sort of treatment. The people who run this are discusting and obviously do not have any sort of feelings. We need to get this stopped. My heart goes out to all the people who are helping this stop and also to the poor horses who are going through this.

And they said that "Planet of The Apes" was horrifying and barbaric!!!
When will manselfish (sorry, Mankind doesn't fit) learn that we are only PART of this planetary ecosystem, NOT the most important part. I think that mass rape and forced fighting to the extent causing life threatening injury, deformities and death, is a fitting punishment for these lowlife. Their Government must act now. I said in my message on the petition that I will not buy any of their country's products nor will I travel there unless and until they ban this practice and police it properly.
We are rapidly getting to the stage where "Planet of The Apes" seems not so far fetched after all.
Thanks for publishing this Simone.

I think its bloody disgusting, anybody who can be cruel to any animal and make it do in humane acts and fight for a female then in a way have her gang raped by the winners is appaling, animals in the wild pick one mate only not the winner of every event. Put the greedy liitle pigs who make the money off the sport tetherd to a pole in the middle of a ring and let the people who lose their money on the barbaric act at them and see what happens. IT IS NOT A SPORT BAN THE BARBARIC ACT !!!!!!!!!!! ITS SO DISGUSTING.

What a disgusting act of cruelty. Horses have been nothing but a magnificent, loyal and faithful creature since time began and look what humanity has done to them. It breaks my heart to see such a beautiful and symbolic animal forced to act against their nature to please greedy, selfish and undeserving people.

Thursday October 23, 2008, 5:29 am
Barbaric is an understatement!!! I am sickened and infuriated beyond belief by this horrific treatment of these beautiful and innocent creatures. No punishment would be severe enough for anyone involved in such cruelty - whether as an instigator or spectator. The only suitable punishment would be to subject all of these people to the same sadistic treatment which they have forced these animals to endure. I wholly support ... no, I DEMAND that such cruelty be outlawed and the harshest of penalties be imposed on any and all perpetrators and those who encourage and allow it.

This is disgusting. Shame on the pathetic low scum that find this enjoyment!! You sicken me. It is terrible enough that this behaviour is not seen as a "hot topic" by our government to pressure other governemts to stop animal and human cruelty. What does it take bears being kept in tiny cages being milked for their biles, their nails and teeth ripped out then being tied to the ground and dogs let on them. For cows and hooved animals to have rings placed in their noses and chained by their noses to fences. whales that are harpooned and dragged through the water for an average 15 minutes till the die!!! They dont hurt a soul!! It makes me soo angry that this still happens in the world today. But of course it would with piss weak governments that are to scared to put an end to all the inhumane acts on animals and humans. What will it take??? It is really great to see other fantastic people out there that want this to stop. Thank-you.
Enough is enough. For the selfish and greedy humans out there- WAKE UP!! there is more to life than money. It's F**KING paper.
Animals are gorgeous and amazing spirits.

This is disgusting. I am absolutely appalled at this act of cruelty and barbarity.

I may be only young, but I know animals should not be compelled to fight in any manner, particularly against one another in an enclosed area, over an unfortunate and tortured mare rendered helpless and vulnerable tethered amongst the thirsty males.

Not to mention the revoltingly malicious spectators watching and gambling over a truly unnatural event of bloodshed and torture.

Shocking, utterly inhumane.

Sometmes I'm ashamed to be human. We are, supposedly, more intelligent than animals. What kind of person can do this to any kind of animal? And what kind of people would want to spectate at such an outrage? No animal should have to endure this sort of treatment, however I would quite happily stand and watch the hordes of hell descend on the perpetrators. Bang goes my karma.

It is a shame that in this day and age there are still societies of people that remain uneducated, ignorant and find ancient & barbaric practices a form of entertainment. You have to wonder how bad their living standards are that they get pleasure out of such cruelty. Further distressing is the fact that there are children present and they will adopt the same behavior & lack of respect for living creatures into their adult years. Maybe the Phillipino Government should donate a couple of T.V.'s to these villages so they can watch a real sport like Football or Baseball.

What is wrong with these sick bastards. The Australian Government needs to put pressure on their government. In our society isnt there evidence to say that those who subject cruelty on animals have some kind of mental health issues and are more likely to be cruel to men, women and children. What does it say of their society when there are so many people gaining so called enjoyment from this barbaric display. Why would anyone want to visit such a place. If tourists boycotted, their Govenment would have to step up and do something to stop this hideous crime rather than turn a blind eye to it.

I won't be visiting and spending money i Japan whilst they continue to hunt whales and I sure as hell won't EVER visit the Phillipines. This ncountry is known for its cruelty towards animals. Dogs in market places having their legs broken to be carried home before killing and eating them. This horse fighting is a typical sport for ignorant people. Bastards!!!!!!!!!!! I have horses and I find this practice Barbaric and disgusting. Makes me wanna throw up. I'll be getting on to the Consulate.

In the Roman World, The Gladiators, Man fighting beasts -- Lions for e.g.
and Man fighting another man --- all so called "criminals / victims ..." etc.! Yes, that was the Roman times! Today, we are no better. Looks like we are still in the old world! When can the "God" within us wake up?

As we know and has been said by many people before .... Where are we going?
Into the stone age? Maybe not so long ago after all as the previous comment says and I really tend to agree with that! Ram made an excellent point indeed. Today, are we any better than the Gladiator "Fightors" ? ---

Yes, as I noted above, a few milliniums back, it was between man and animal and between man and man ---- which still goes on till today --- in many other forms and you know what I mean!

But, this particular sport is definitely and absolutely and totally DISGUSTING indeed.

If humans want to fight in whatever way they want, it's their choice. Hopefully they can use their BRAIN if thay want to!

But what about .... the ones you love? your pets?

But also, as said before, if done for human pleasure, we better watch our behaviour, lest we shall be yet another "Perished Roman Empire" very soon to perish as humans and beings!

"BANNED THE HORSE FIGHTING IN THE BLOODY PHILIPPINES" My god what is the matter with these pilipinos? charge the bastards for subjecting cruelty to the animals. I myself is with a pilipino heritage and this act of cruelty to those beautiful animals is just make me sick and furious. it is a common fact that the locals loves their cocks and dogs fight. and to top it all up the animals that loses the fight end up in the cooking pot and onto the dinner table. Cruelty to the animals is an absolute a big NO!NO!. I hope the pilipino goverment is listening and put a stop into these cruelty to the animals. Thank you Simone for posting this information.

I am a horse owner and was sickened to see these heartless, greedy, sadistic creatures called humans, doing this to one of the most beautiful animals of the world. The Phillipino government is allowing this torture. If they had half a brain and a heart, they would jail all offenders. Get your heads out of the sand and take action or are you too spineless like these cruel bastards????. Why don't you barbaric bastards get a life and stop this torture against these beautiful animals. Do something productive instead of destructive......
Charm..NSW.

How horrible! This sent me to tears. Horses are the most gentle animal, yet made out to be vicious in this horrible torture. Despite being illegal, they still do it? Ban it! It should be already, but someone other than the Phillipino government needs to step in and make sure it doesn't happen anymore.

As everyday passes, I become more and more disgusted in what human beings are capable of. What kind of people prey on innocent, harmless animals. How long has this gone on and majority of the world remains ignorant to it all.
Those poor horses...........add this to the already long list of cruelty, violance and abuse to God's creatures. We do not deserve them.

Terrible, Terrible, Terrible - how can we (as the supposedly most superior species on this planet) inflict such terrible torture on any animal? Am ashamed of all involved - they are worse than animals - no, that insults animals - animals do not treat each other in this way. Will gladly sign.

people who run and contribute to such cruelty should get a taste of the pain themselves. It hurts me to even watch animals being hurt. We haveto do something to stop this torture.

Attending condones rape and aggression practices. What do these people do to each otherat home when peaceful animals are treated like this. Shame on you Phillipinos, and all humanity who do not support outlawing such practices. Education of the Spirit of both humans and animals is required. Police, you are letting down yourselves and your people.denny s.

Just when you thought the human race could not get any lower towards animals, they go and do something like this! I have never been so upset to see this sort of display conducted by humans. One can only hope that we can stop this or one day the animals will be able to take revenge on these low lifes.
Signed a million times over. Thank you Simone. Please tell me of there is anything else I can do.

Absolutely disgusting!! Such an inhuman act from superior beings??? Its a huge leap backwards for humankind. I'm almost speechless due to the anger and hurt I'm feeling from this senseless act. Surely the voice of huge numbers must convey the message - even waking our own Government up to step up to the mark. Has ACA televised this yet?? There's a huge voice in letting others know whats goin on over there - majority talks!!!

It just makes me sick how people can do this and see it as merely a “sport”. If they are doing this to boost one’s adrenaline and competitiveness’ then it makes me wonder what kind of sadistic people are on this planet. The worst thing is that it’s been going on for centuries, not to mention other animal mistreatment. I just wish they understood that being cruel to animals is just plain evil

I believe the people who instigate and perpetuate any act of cruelty to an animal should be subjected to punishment of torture - intense pain and suffering. There is no forgiveness for greedy and selfish people who are participating in these acts for monetary gain or sport. What goes around comes around, it's just a matter of time.

Well once again the human race is showing its true colours for greed and entertianment. Maybe if these people stopped gambling thier money away on this disgusting practice they wouldn't be so poor! Education is the key to stopping these sorts of cruel practices and hopefully one day they will understand the damage they are doing to these animals. Here's hoping :o)

We read and hear every day of mans cruelty and indifference to animals. We do have dog fights in Australia. We do have so called humans inflicting terrible trauma on animals. If there is a dollar to be made in Asian Countries the Authorities dont do anything to stop it. Until the 'low life' are made to change their ways by their Governments nothing will change. Reading the story of the fighting horses made me feel sick in the stomach. I hope something can be done about it.

Jess very rigtly pointed out from a quote from Ghandi:--- "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated". Yes, it's very very true! Because, the problem is if we as humans
cannot live in harmoney with nature, with our fellow-beings - because they are BEINGS TOO! --- Then we definitely have a very genuine problem as humans! As Erina pointed out "Its a huge leap backwards for humankind".
And I said previously, we are going back to the "Gladiatorial" scenario of the Roman times! Sadistic people indeed as Sonia said.

Now, towards a much wider perspective of us humans!

Think about the cannibolism in Canada, in the UK?
Think about the Incest in Austria and Australia?
I am sure there are many many more in this world which go unreported!

Before I finish this comment, I would like to share with you all something
wich I read in the news:----

There is a company / organisation in Japan who "Bottle up" Cats! Yes, that's
right! They put the new born kitten in a bottle - in a very attrective shape. And the kitten lives in that bottle - know not how long! And that's sold as "An Art Piece / Collection"!

What are we amounting to as Humans?

Asia and the Middle East especially Egypt has to be the worst areas in the world for animals. The people inhabiting ASIA are amongst the cruellest most selfish stupid bastards ever to be born and the people who brutalise our sheep, goats and cattle in the Middle East are not far behind- what can I say except they all deserve the same treatment as they meter out to our most vulnerable. I must say I am not surprised with the horse fighting- they like cock fighting and this is no different so why would anyone be shocked.

The people involved are at the lowest level of the gene pool equal to that of pond slime. I urge everyone who reads this blog to boycott ASIA and the ME. Dont visit, dont buy their goods. Tell both places to get stuffed.

I don't get it this country is suppose to be a religious country. What are they doing? they are worship christianity, so y are the torturing gods creatures like this, this is barbaric. I truly believe god left this world along time ago. Look what we are doing to one another. war, rape, murder sucide bombing and now animal torture. I don't think he has the power or strength to watch over us anymore. So im sure he'll be sitting on his thrown and waiting for these cowards on their judgment day and let me tell you this god does not forgive all sins.
