A horse shot in the head six times in Dona Ana County refused to die and now will continue her recovery at the Horse Shelter near Santa Fe. Miracle is a very apt name for the horse. Almost five months ago, she was left for dead.

Noted and thank you for this story Simone. What an amazing horse, special and so smart too! It appears all her previous owners cared about was the money she could earn for them and after that they didn't care about her well being at all; shame on them. I hope the man that shot her gets jail. I'm glad she's safe now.

The animal tried so hard to please her owner, working and earning money for him and this was his thanks... it must have been a horrifying and traumatic moment for the poor animal. I hope he gets a lot of love in the schelter to get over it and can get his weldeserved retirement. I also hope the man gets jail !!!

Thumbs down to the polo club for not finding her a good home when her years with them was over. How could no one not want her anymore. She is beautiful. The cold hearted scumbag who shot her six times and then gave up and left her should get the maximum on this. I love this happy ending story for a horse who truely deserves the name Miracle. Noted with thanks Simone.

I hope they lock up the SOB who shot her for a very, very long time. How can clubs condone crap like this? Kudos to her for surviving, and may she now live a life filled with love and care

"She got past a cattle guard in the road about a foot wide and went and found a house and banged her head against the door until someone came to the door," Rios said....Shot 6 times in the head! She truely is a Miracle!
Bless her heart. May she now live a long and happy life. That so called man better get some serious jail time for this!

I hope the SOB rots in jail. But better still stand him against and wall and fire bullets at him so he knows how Miracle felt. What a strong determined horse she is. Thank God for her detemination by going to a house for help. I am glad that she is ok now and hopefully will have a more caring owner next time.

What a beautiful, amazing horse, she deserves to be loved and appreciated for life.
As for that unconscionable waste of skin who followed her for 2 miles while shooting her in the head before abandoning her to die slowly, I hope he gets repaid ten-fold in suffering. What a disgusting, despicable creep...

She really is a marvel and miracle is a good name for her. I hope she will be very happy for the rest of her life. Shame on the polo club and the heartless man who shot her should get a custodial sentence for his callous crime and have time to wonder why he is there.
