Michigan allows companion animals to be sold to Class B Dealers. Not all pounds or shelters tell citizens that they sell to Class B Dealers, in fact, some have openly lied about it. We know the following sell live dogs and cats to Class B Dealers or to universities:

City of Inkster,

Ingham County Animal Control Shelter, Passed resolution banning sales to Class B Dealers.

Jackson County Animal Control, Passed resolution banning sales to Class B Dealers.

Midland County Animal Control, no resolution but according to animal control does not sell animals to research

Eaton County Animal Control,

Mecosta County Animal Control,

Montcalm County Animal Control

Montmorency County Animal Control, no longer sells pets to dealers but has not passed a resolution.

Gratiot County Animal Control,

Osceola County Animal Control.

**SHOCKING TO LEAVE SMOE BEYOND BECAUSE OF A DOLLAR**

We have taken out 18 dogs in the last month gtom Montcalm, Michigan. the dogs go to scientific research there, where the guy who gets them can show up any time. we were told he would not be returning before Christmas, but the next day he came and took liz. by calling the county admin and the commissioner's, thankfully liz was returned, and we have now, she is doing great. the others are all going to approved rescue/foster groups...but there remains four more. thus far, the only way we've been able to save these dogs from being tested --yesterday, they were sleeping on someone's couch, tomorrow they could be chosen because their hearts are similar to humans, or they could have their eyes and ears or brain dissected -- just because they are at the shelter. please consider donating to help us get out the remaining dogs. each dog is 70 for the fee to get out, and then about 58 for vetting. while waiting for transport, we've boarded the dogs for 10 a day. i don't know if people are 'adjusted' now to the idea that shelter dogs go to scientific research, but if not, and you're alarmed that this is happening, please email me your phone number and call me if you care to donate to get a dog out, thank you.

OH THANK GOD my animal shelter in Ingham county has voted to not sell animals to research labs. I have been uspset for so long over this. I have even been afraid to call them to help animals in distress for fear they would take the animal from an abusive home and than sell them to a research lab. this is such good new. now we have to stop all MI shelters from selling to class B dealers. this is disgusting and unacceptable.

on the petition page, I noticed an ad ''FUR IS GREEN'' from Council of Canada who promotes trapping and the sale of fur. They are misleading in their advertising and a fraud. www.furcouncil.com/Ecological.aspx. there is nothing Green about ripping off animals' skin. Go on their site and write to them if you care 2.
