Use of or threats of violence is the surest way that people can confirm their incompetence to solve problems proactively, their lack of integrity and their unfitness to lead. That explains why Republican leaders resort to this tactic with clockwork regularity, and Rick Perry is no exception. Far be it from me to defend Ben Bernanke. He has been the focus of scathing criticism from me on multiple occasions, but I would not wish him harm, let alone suggest it. Decent people don’t to that. In threatening Bernanke, Perry also demonstrated his ignorance about the US Constitution.

It is hard to hold my peace.

But on this site, which seems commited to Obummer, excuse me, President Obama, I will.

I'd advise everyone to stay away from Texas, and their man- who- would- be- king!
Sounds like that gal on fb who said that we (anyone not a repug-bagger) are not only "trying to take away her guns, we're trying to take her money and give it to people that won't get a job and work for their money".
InsaniTEA must be in the water system down there.
I'm to the point of giving them money to help them sucede!

I don't understand what is with this group of Republican candidates, they just do not seem to have a grasp of the Constitution at all....are they really that dumb or just plain stupid?

They are dumb and stupider than that too. This is just frightening what he said, and that picture with his machine gun, wow. Good religious man.....NOT.
I am speechless.

did y'all hear about the Confederates for Perry, who were in front of the building where he made his announcement?

Noted, Tom, and thanks for the article. where I come from the Confederates are Democrats, so I don't know why any would be rooting for Perry. I have a friend who lives in Texas and I've been sending her little clips on her beloved [heh, heh, heh] governor. She tells me if he wasn't so damned serious, it would be funny... and in her humble opinion, he's done nothing for Texas except push it further down the sewer... she's sitting back, waiting for someone to flush!

I think the Repuglicons could just say "if you want more war, vote for us" --- its why Rand Paul has little chance of getting the nomination....he actually has sane thoughts on the issues of war.

oops...just realized I typed Rand Paul and not Ron Paul...who can probably be the true winner of the Iowa Straw Poll (not that this really matters), but isn't given any attention because he is as close to anti-war and anti-violence as any of the cons....

Rand Paul like many of his ilk, speak a populism based on bigotry, a folksy anti government mumbo jumbo, which throws out the baby with the bathwater as if it were wisdom to role back for arguments of Private property", gains such as civil rights enforced by our Federal Government which by law demanded states FINALLY do the right thing when some states, would not do the right thing except under penalty of law enforced by that Federal Government. And about damn time. It is a shame we must demand that people behave justly toward others....but there it is, and we should not take one damn step back, no matter how many damn bigots turned from Dem to Repub over their loss of the right to be slave owners, oppressors, and haters in broad daylight who lost their Jim Crow laws and want them back, now in the form of voter suppression. Screw um. Let drive them back under their hoods. See you in October.

What about Pelosi and the "astro turf, terrorist, comments. Biden, with the terrorist comment. What about that? I listened to the comment and saw nothing that would tell people to commit violence on Bernacke. Are we not reaching a bit???

Pelosi comment calling a the Baggers AstroTurf was right the hell on. The comparison and your added word terrorist in her statement which was not there make it...fail. In the example of the Vice Pres....those who extorted what they wanted, by holding our nations economy hostage, behaved as terrorists by threatened to blow up the world wide economy if they didn't get what they wanted. He called them what they are. Trying to make excuses for the Gov making threats, by pointing out others speaking truth is lame if not downright dishonest.

Rick Perry suggests violence just two weeks after hosting his Evangelical Jesus Jamboree? Someone is talking from both sides of his mouth. And it doesn't matter which side you listen to, because neither side makes sense.

@ ME You --- The threat was implied. I certainly felt that Perry was threatening Bernanke by saying they knew how to take care of him in Texas.

All these Republican presidential wannabes are scary. They claim to be Christian but they sure do read a different Bible than I do! Perry is a gun toting red neck, Bachmann an airhead, Palin I wouldn't trust as far as I could throw her, and the rest . . . AAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

Thanks everyone. There seems to be little disagreement here. As for ME You, w3e have a perfect example of Republican courage, commenting under a bogus profile.

I want to hear from all the women out there. What you do you think about Texas men?

Although not raised in Texas, I lived there many years and have a theory that this universal "swagger" is bred in to them because the culture idolizes boys to the extreme. Girls are to be like Laura Bush, sweet, demure, and in total support of the man. It must be wonderful to be told you're the second coming of Christ your entire life.

Perry is already called by those who know him....Bush without brains. You heard it right. Yup. Even dumber. Scary though I'm sure many baggers will see themselves in him.

I think it's sad when millionaires can't buy a decent brain. I also think it's sad that certain men are so insecure they need to buy fundamentalist wives to support their delusions. Does anyone else think it'd be fun to deport these dumb-a$$es to a Russian gullag & see how they faired in a couple of years? I gotta pitch it to Hollywood, maybe pay-per-view?;)
