Often times Michigan does not get the national attention it deserves, because their totalitarian Republican governor is not as flamboyant as the Koch suckers in charge of Ohio, and Fitzwalkerstan, formerly Wisconsin, but here’s some information about the harm that he and and the Republican party are imposing on the neediest Michiganders in order to increase corporate welfare.

I agree, Tom, corporate welfare is truly exposed in Michigan.

Thanks Tom. Can they recall him like they are trying to do to Walker? How are people to look for work making a living wage in their field when they are forced to take a job in another field? Will the people in MI revolt with another "Arab Spring"? We can only hope these thugs are removed from office, the sooner the better for us all.

.....I just hope that all these attempts to further impoverish the people and empower the corporations will catch up at the voting booth.....we need to keep spreading the truth about how the repuglicons govern and for whom.....

And the Sociopathic beat goes on and it will continue to go on relentlessly. Until we the People, not just the few who speak out the truth, but all of us together drive deep our “Picket Pins” where we stand and dare to say, “This is IT, NO MORE here or anywhere.” They shall not pass by me in their march deeper into a Fascist régime. If they pass, they will need to do it over me because this is my country, our country our world and we will not forfeit our rights without one hell of a fight. We will return Our Nation to the Democratic Republic OF, FOR and BY the people with Liberty and Equal and Fair JUSTICE for ALL. Not just for the psychopathic greed mongers devoted to maximum planetary plunder and absolute suppression of the People into serfdom. They are incurably sick of mind and devoid of spirit, overwhelmed with the all pervasive addiction to greed and insatiable lust for gold. Which in their delusional consciousness they perceive equates to power. They have power only if WE hand it over to them. Not on my Watch, my children and grandchildren will not be subjected to enslavement, so help me god as I breath.

For the sake of a future, for the sake of all of humanity Occupy something, speak out until they are forced to listen. It’s time to earn what we want, need and refuse to accept less of “Freedom, Justice, Equality”. They are no longer simply a birthright as we now know, with certainty, they must be fought for continuously. Can I hear an Amen? Now get up and move out, the frontlines are at your doorstep and they aint gona wait for no stinking election day to eat your and your pets lunch. All is all they need and all they WILL take.

The Corporate Welfare party, the GOP, just does not get it. When you help others you help yourself. When you hurt others, you are only hurting yourself. It's very simple: If you help the poor (education, jobs, healthcare, etc..) to reach higher they can achieve more, which in turn helps the economy. If you help the middle class, you help the economy. When everyone is given the chance at a better life, it helps the economy and in turn helps the rich. So EVERYBODY WINS!

Well, Snyder has redefined the meaning of living in a Red State within the US, that's for sure.

Sadly noted. Looks like Michigan is not going to rest until they have deprived their political opponents of everything they can.

I could not have said it better --- "Republicans govern exclusively for the benefit of millionaires, billionaires, and corporate criminals. They do NOT represent YOU!"

From the analysts story: Kenneth Allard, a former NBC military analyst . . . “I felt we’d been hosed.” I think a lot of people in a lot of states feel this way about the Republican/Teabagger policy of divine right to rule omnipotently.

According to Wikipedia, "Snyder presented his first budget to the legislature on February 17, 2011, calling it a plan for 'Michigan's reinvention",' and saying it would end Michigan's deficits. He also described the budget as containing 'SHARED SACRIFICE' but added that it would create jobs and economic growth, 'while preserving core, essential services and ensuring a safety net for those who are vulnerable.' The $46 billion budget cut $1.8 billion in spending, removed the tax exemption on private pensions, AND REPLACED THE MICHIGAN BUSINESS TAX WITH A FLAT 6% TAX ON THE PROFITS OF C CORPORATIONS. State Senate Minority Leader Gretchen Whitmer criticized the budget, saying that it did not involve 'shared sacrifice,' but instead was balanced "on the backs of our kids, working families, and our seniors" and "picks out who he’s willing to leave behind."

As so many commenters have already stated, the GOP represents their corporate masters. They don't represent US!

Thanks to all Kudos to Sue.

Carlene, Michigan patriots did try to recall Snyder, but failed to collect enough signatures to proceed.

AMEN, Brother Hawkeye! This is how the Totalitarian Regime starts peeps. Learn it well. We must defeat it now before it grows, like a putrid cancer, to spread over all of America. If they rig the elections, they will give no other recourse...and y'all know what that means. Unfortunately, I fear it is going to come to that. I hope against hope that it does not, but my soul is telling me....get ready. :(

Thanks, Tom.

Robert B., you are so very wrong! They do get it, it is called money either directly to their campaigns, through Citizens United PACS/SuperPACS or Repug/Tea Bagged media, but they get it. the other thing that they get is elected and the power that goes with having a Repug/Tea Bagged controlled government. And unfortunately most of the States that went Red went red because too damn many Democratic voters sat out the elections on their dumb asses because they were disappointed that they did not get everything they wanted instantly. God I am so sock and tired of trying to get Democrats to pull their heads out of the asses and realize that IN ANY ELECTION WHEN YOU DO NOT VOTE, YOU ARE VOTING FOR A REPUGNICAN. Check the 2010 election results, the new crop of Red States with Repug Governors and legislatures were not put into office by a majority of their states voters they were put into power by the Majority of Repug/Tea Bagged votes voting and a majority of Democrat voters sulking and sitting on their asses and not voting. Rail against the government all you want but you get the kind of government you vote for, if you do not vote you get what others decide they want. Remeber say what you want Repugs always vote.

Charlene: I did not vote for this repukelican, but I did sign the recall petition. There were not enough names to get it on the ballot last Nov. but am told that the people taking names are trying to get it on an early ballot this coming year. We did get Paul Scott out though I could not sign onto his recall pet. but my mom and aunt were able to and he was a pet of Snyder. I live in Flint, #4 of his corporate takeover of cities. Thanks to Rachel Maddow no one in the state would have known about this earlier in the year because of so much censorship of the local newsletter-formally known as a newspaper and the TV news stations tell us practically nothing about what is going on.
Snyder was also the person who bought out E-Machines and turned it into Gateway Computers, which he managed to bankrupt after taking those jobs and outsourced them. We have had several - all repukelicans , who have owned businesses and taken those jobs to China mostly, who have run for governor in Mich. Dick Devos /Amway is another loser-thank goodness. Snyders plans for Mich is to basically sell it off for mere pennies on the dollar if the cities have failing schools, money problems and any other thing he decides, the field is so broad that every city could eventually be sold off to corporations in Michigan and 99.99% of the people here do not even know it. It worries me as if this or when this happens, what happens to the people living in these cities, will the mega corps take our houses ? Will we even be part of America anymore?

Snyder wants to do a study to find out why Michigan people are obese. He cut food stamps down in October, they usually go up about $1 then and they are being cut again in January. Even Keith Olbermann stated about this idiot governor and stated on his show that the reason people are getting fat is due to not enough of the right kinds of food and than when you cut the money for food people eat cheaper filler food. Some repugs want to cut food programs even more as they claim we are getting to much to eat otherwise we would be skinny. Dieticians know the facts and would tell these idiots the reason to their questions, but we know that the repugs will close their ears to it. People need the right amount of food and at an affordable price, something that cannot be achieved even if you coupon shop and are very good at saving by using marked down meat and other marked down produce, dairy and dented cans and items on sale with a coupon only. Only in America do I see this hatred for those who for reasons beyond their control are no longer able to provide for their daily living expenses except from the social security they worked and paid into. Other countries that have programs for their poor and elderly treat their people better than we do here in America, maybe if we did not waste so much money on war and destroying imaginary boogeymen, we could too.
