Let me be clear that I am not attacking Christians here. Supply-side Jesus is completely opposite to the Jesus that authentic Christians worship. Supply-side Jesus was invented to justify the Republican false gospel of hate, greed and racism for Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christians. Many practitioners of this obscenity prey on their congregants and promise miracles, but when Supply-side Jesus can’t cut it, and there is no miracle, guess whose fault it is.

Tom, you are so right. These bastards hijack Jesus and make it look like the are christinas. NOT There is no way that Jesus would own a gun, steal from the poor and give to the rich, and spread HATE and lies to achieve their own power and greed. Jesus and republicans are on opposite ends of humanity.

John, for once I agree wholeheartedly with you.
If these fools really knew Jesus, they would not be this insane. They are so ignorant, they don't even realize that they are doing their Satan's work.

@ Camila, I am with you, for once (or maybe twice) I agree with John. Did not watch the video of Pat Robertson. I had enough of this crammed down my throat when I was growing up.

Wasn't Pat Roberson that just a month or so back said the GOP race was getting too nasty? I guess he feared all that muckraking and pleas for more money by the candidates just might infringe on his business. Pay up and get "healed" what is really sad is those who spend on this "healing". When that same money spent a minor prescription might have fixed up the problem. There is a reason that we require doctors to learn, chemistry, anatomy and psychology, organic chemistry, micro biology and all the sciences. One must under the interconnection of the chemistry and biology of the body before a diagnosis/prognosis can be made.

Nice label for those who choose to espouse their faith when it is at odds with what Jesus commanded instead of what he commands them to do.

Loved the final paragraph, Tom: "It does not take rocket science to figure out how connected Robertson is with God. A few years back Disney World announced that they had discontinued their policy to discriminate against LGBT employees. Robertson quickly prophesied that God had told him Orlando would be smitten with a hurricane in retribution for Disney World’s satanic policy. The next hurricane to hit the US made landfall at Virginia Beach and damaged Robertson’s headquarters. God must have a wonderful sense of humor."

These nut jobs who claim to have a direct line to Jesus have all their bases covered. If they're right, they're right. If they're wrong, they're still right because their predictions didn't come to pass because of the poor "flunky's" lack of faith. They're confident that they can't lose the argument because the people who support them never challenge them. Another case of the lemmings metaphorically following the leader off the cliff --except they're following verbal commands while their leader sits in his plush office counting their contributions.

Pat Robertson and his theo-fascist ilk are a festering boil on the ass of the universe.Tax all their multi billion dollar "ministries" and we could pay of the national debt.Their ill gotten gains come from fleecing the gullible.

One of the worst I've seen is Jack van Impe. I had the misfortune to encounter his paid ad on TV late one night. It was racist and pornographic, claiming President Obama is the anti-Christ and doing so in the most obvious of racist ways. Where is the FCC when you need it? That was the most pornographic TV show I ever saw.

I published a story about Pat Robertson and his reaction to OWS about 3.5 months ago. Here is in part what I said then:

Pat Robertson, an 81 yr old televangelist with a net worth of $200 million to $! billion is calling on Christians to not be involved in OWS because he says this is a rebellion of anger. . . . As a Christian, I say horsepuckey! Christian doctrine calls on us to support the weak, the disenfranchised. It calls on us to love our neighbour and to seek justice for all creation. IMO, supporting and/or being active in OWS is just what Christians are called to do. Christians are called to be active but not violent. . . . angry at the inequality, the injustice that they see all around them. While the 1%, of which Robertson is a part by definition, sip coffee or drinks in their well appointed clubs, the poor and middle class are being decimated by injustice, unaffordable healthcare, unemployment, loss of pension or the threat of loss of social security, . . . You don't have to be Christian to be Christ like. To the non Christians in the protest, I say 'Thank you for being Christ like." To the Christians in the protest I say "Thank you for being Christ like." To the Christians not involved in the protest or who scorn it, it is time to find Christ because he is at the protest and will one day clear the temple again.

Pat Robertson belongs to this last group --- the supply-side psuedo Christians, or Xtians, who wouldn't recognise the true Jesus Christ if he met him face to face. The more I hear and see these supply-side psuedo Xtians, the more I hear the coming clamour in the streets and temple. For modern days, Mahatma Gandhi said it best "My life is my message." Gandhi is the most Christ like person I know of.

L Ron Hubbard said that if he really wanted to get rich, he would invent a religion......VIOLA!!! Scientology.

Christianity is no different. It is a cult that has gotten far too powerful and with so many people out there that are incapable of thinking for themselves, it becomes a very powerful narcotic.
But that is the nature of orthodoxic religion; they don't want people to think for themselves. If they did, then they would not be able to control them or get away with begging for millions of dollars every year while simultaneously providing nothing of either intrinsic or social value.

The worst part is that, even when the proof is there and out in public for everyone to see, they still do not believe that these self-proclaimed religious leaders are nothing but the con men that they are.

Kudos to Lynn and more. Thanks to almost all.

Christopher, it pains me to see you take the abuses of people who in no way represent Jesus' teachings and use them as an excuse to denigrate authentic people who do. As a Christian I honor your atheist faith. I hope you are not too evangelical in that faith to honor those who differ.

Pat Robertson is an embarrasment to Christianity.. and the world really. Haters will always be haters, they come in all religions and in militant atheists. I am grateful their are more loving Religious folks and atheists than this kind of human being.. but as we know it sometimes only takes one religous nut or one Atheist hater to destroy millions of lives. They are both the same to me.. just plain haters.

Well said, Sharon. Intolerance should be opposed regardless of where it comes from.
