Greedy Oil Polluters sure got us in a mess with wars of past decade...now its time for US to leave and ASAP...should have already been done....then we need to get off all petroleum energy sources and use the wind/solar/wave/tidal/geothermal opportunities, conservation, and change to US made electric and fuel efficient cars to stop our needs in middle east....

w/r GOP thoughts on BC and fetal rights, it reminds me of Monty Python "every sperm is sacred"....soon they'll be coming against anyone who has ever masterbated (I would predict every teenage male ever) and any woman who has ever had a miscarriage.....

Mittens had no problem putting his dog in a cage on top of the car for a 12 hour drive just as he had no problem chop-shopping businesses and putting people out of work.

Maybe a couple of those Right-wing justices on SCROTUS will leave before a full review of Citizens' United is done.

Isn't it time to stop giving aid to Pakistan?

I don't think the caucuses are mattering right now to the RepublicanTs. Look at the poor showings in all the states where primaries and caucuses have already been held.

Spot on with the cartoon.

yeah, these white men need to set off on a voyage to find a new country to call their own......but they are probably afraid the world is flat and they are about to fall off the edge as it is......oh noooo!!!! they are soooo lost, what day is it, what century??!!!

Seriously, is there a psychiatrist in the house? I think they need help!!

Thanks for the post, TomCat. FYI, the feds have been stepping into States rights for quite some time now. For example, when California wanted to make the auto emissions stricter, Bush administration said the federal rules were strong enough (obviously not, as CA is mostly a Valley, which holds in all the pollution). Another example is CA State law on marijuana for medical purposes. The feds are constantly raiding legitimate businesses and throwing the owners in jail.
Nice to hear you got some rest.

Puzzle --- I know that the puzzles are random and this isn't Rmoney's type of dog, but how appropriate that it be on today's menu with Rmoney.

Mutt Romney --- What a great little video. Maybe Mutt Romney should run for POTUS as an independent without Rmoney's interference!

Scotus --- Well, we can't say that this is unexpected given the SCOTUS bias for corporations with personhood. However the silver lining is that in countering the issue of states rights, SCOTUS has also opened up the issue of Citizens United to review. This may be the impetus needed to overturn Citizens United. I also think though that a constitutional amendment to remove personhood, or at least define personhood (excluding corporations), would be wise and should proceed, although at this point with so many Republican states, I don't see an amendment being approved yet.

I wonder if this is one of those "gotchas" that SCOTUS didn't know existed. Thank you Montana for your 100 year old law.

The 3 Mouseketeers --- In the words of Gomer Pyle "Surprise, surprise, surprise!" Afghanistan is as corrupt as they come and have been not so secretly courting Iran, of which Iran would be very happy since it is somewhat ostracised by some of its Muslim neighbours. Ahmadinejad's head must be insufferebly swelled now. Pakistan doesn't surprise me either since the drone bombings etc that killed some Pakistanis and the undisclosed raid to get Osama bin Laden. Also Pakistan's intelligence group, according to the news has been assisting in Afghanistan etc against US assistance. And isn't it great that Pakistan is nuclear weapons capable.

Personally, I think the US should cut its involvement in the area and concentrate on home issues. On the news this weekend, the British Foreign Minister, Hague, has said that it has no plans to bomb Iran as this isn't in anybody's interests. He certainly didn't close the door on it completely, but perhaps that will cool things a little. Of course, no such announcement from Israel.

Maine --- I'll bet that Rotten Ronnie is not at all pleased with that news. And the beat goes on!

Cartoon --- Oh yes! Republicans will dictate to everyone what they must do, what they must believe, their religion, their . . . well the list is endless! Vote Democrat!

By gosh it's time we started protecting the fetuses' second amendment rights by implanting a little bitty gun in there.
