’m sure I don’t have to tell you that the de facto head of the Republican Party,Rush Limbaugh, has gone off the deep end in his vile attacks against Sandra Fluke, a Georgetown Law student, whom Republicans prevented from testifying to a hearing on birth control. Democrats have responded appropriately, condemning his remarks. Some Republicans have criticized him in the vaguest possible terms, but none have actually condemned his remarks. In my opinion, there is only one viable alternative for responding to Rush.

From the artcle ---

"Boehner “obviously believes the use of those words was inappropriate, . . ." --- well it isn't obvious to me given some of the other hair-brain statements he's made and the overall position of the Republican party on women's rights and health issues.
"Santorum . . . being “absurd,” but dismissed him as an entertainer." --- Limbaugh is no more an entertainer than I am. If he is an entertainer, then why does he hold such sway in the GOP?
Rush's words --- " . . . being compassionate . . ." and ". . . a credible critic . . ." in reference to himself. What a pile of bear scat! If he were so credible and compassionate, he would stop the rhetoric and apologise. But if you ask me, any apology he might offer is worthless. He would be so disingenuous so as to nullify anything and everything he said in the apology. As said by Ed Shultz, Limbaugh is trying to portray himself as the victim. It's too bad that Limbaugh didn't actually see and read the testimony of Sandra Fluke because I did see chunks of it, and nothing he has said lines up with what I saw. I hope others see the same stupidity in his rant that I did.

I find it incomprehensible that the GOP candidates and leadership are not taking him to task. Their lack of effective action just goes to show that they think women in general are nothing to be concerned about.

Signed the petition. I hope this insecure little man who has to build himself up by denigrading others, in this case women, becomes extinct.

REpubs-cons are afraid of Rush, so they won't come forward to say anything. AND THAT HAS TO STOP NOW. So, it's up to concerned US citizens. This kind of racial, hate, inflaming speech has to stop on the air waves. I hope everyone stands up against this kind of thing NOW. If not, it's only going to get worse.

Limbaugh is a fool and always has been. The best thing I can say about him is that this guy is the definition of what a fool should aspire to.

Rush needs to be barred for any source of air wave with FCC. Shame on him for he has brunt his bridge with the public eye. I surely hope he doesn't treat his wife this way but seeing how he treats women verbally, I'm sure he does. Makes you wonder if he's gay since he's so hard against women with hateful words of put downs and never a nice thing to say. FCC, knock him off the air and band him for life anywhere around the globe. Did someone open the gates of hell and let Rush Limbaugh out? His mother has to be ashamed to have him as a son.

It's a little to late for Rush to apologize. The damage has been done and women are on the war path with him. And I am with women in their equal right and man does not control woman. For a man to control a woman only shows his weakness. He is not man when he does. It takes a Man to treat a woman like a lady with respect.

Thank you TomCat, I have already signed petitions against Rush and will continue to do so.

This filthy piece of trash should be taken off the air. I have already signed several petitions to his advertisers and will continue to do so. His apology will only be uttered if he loses too many sponsers and therefore has less money in his pockets to by his Viagra, which his insurance probably helps to cover. He is a complete ass!

Dotti L (85)
Saturday March 3, 2012, 8:20 am
Same here, Carlene. Am also going to call the station as suggested. Posted it on F.B. Any apology would me meaningless and insincere. I have been saying for years that he should be taken off the air and I have never listened to him. It is just what I have heard about what he has said.

Saturday March 3, 2012, 8:20 am
Thanks Tom, I have already signed this petition and a few others like it. Rush adds nothing to anyone's life except hate. What an ignorant old fool! I try to resist name-calling but facts are facts.

Interesting how the Republicans are so vocal about their position (or with Romney... positionS) on other social matters, but they are mute on this. I know it would kill them to agree with Obama on something, and heaven forbid they criticize Rush. But once again they show us their blatant disregard for women. Pressure should be put on all of them to make public statements one way or the other.

Everything i tried posting early this morning kept disappearing...Glad to see yours is still working Lynn :-)
From everything i've seen about Ms.Fluke she's a class act, but i sure hope she would do us all the great service in what i hope is a long and distinguished career and maybe get some of her professors to put their combined heads together and come up with a "can't lose" lawsuit against this human cesspool of hate and bring him back
down to the gutter where he belongs, discarded as useless and to broke to climb back out.
Already signed this and others. Thanks TC

time for Rush to get off the airways and keep his prejudices to himself....

The US does not need anyone like Limbarf who only creates division, fear, hatred and anger in this country....anyone who supports Limbarf should NOT get any of our support......

Go, Ed, Go!!!! keep the pressure up!!!!! Great videos!!!

Keep spreading the word, Tom, missed you this last week!!!!

Is that idiot still on the airwaves????? Who in their right mind listens to him? He has always talked trash but I really thought no one was listening to him anymore! Is he still fat? Is he still doing drugs? Is he still miserably misinformed? And just who is still listening? And who cares. Good God, get a life! Glad to hear President Obama put the idiot in his place!

Rush's statements are slanderous. Ms. Fluke could sue him for "defamation of character". She is a law student she could draft a nice suit. Now, aside from that. I did not actually read her full statement. I might have missed it somewhere because I thought her statement was at a "Closed Door" session where no reporters or TV was allowed. Please correct me if I am wrong. What I read, and his remarks about costing $3,000 for birth control is taken out of text I am sure. Currently, a friend of mine who pays her own health insurance pays about $500 a month, so, so it could cost someone $3K a year approximately. Given that any one person pays their own insurance, I feel if anyone wanted contraceptives included in their health plan, ought to be allowed to get it. I think this was the "geist" of her statement. Of course, Rush twisted to sound like all that $3K was only going for contraceptives, making for his outlandish statement foolish.

Mary M (29)

I did read somewhere that Rush has had 3 wives, no children. Talk about double standards - 3 wives? He's no Christian, if he ever professed to be one. Real Christians don't go bashing other people with lies. One of the 10 commandments, "thou shalt not bear FALSE witness against their neighbor!" - case closed on Rush.

Come on; a 30 year old activist "law student" with a grand a year sex habit and we're supposed to fund her fun???? Bovine excrement!!!!! And the alleged "congressional hearing" was a Donkey Party propaganda and publicity stunt to boot. What we should be demanding is the Donkeys on that committee pay us taxpayers back for the time they wasted. How about a petition for that?????

Limbarf suffers from "VocalAnalDyslexia" a condition that allows the nerves in Vocal chords to cross with the Anal nerves thereby causing rational thinking to get flushed down the toilet and crap to spew from the mouth. He is polluting the airwaves.

Bobbie Masse (10)
Saturday March 3, 2012, 1:42 pm
The President's comments are nearly as harmless as most Republican comments. Inappropriate!! How about some real outrageousness! RL needs to be off the air for good!

Bobbie Masse (10)
Saturday March 3, 2012, 1:44 pm
An apology will be superfluous. That's like "I'm sorry for raping you." Nonsense! Just get the gorgon off the air permanently. Do we want apologies for all the anti-women (feminazis) comments and blurbs? Hardly. We'd get real tired of hearing them.

Ru$h is a known drug abuser, offensive to Everyone with half a brain - why the RepubliCONs don't understand that he demeans their party by being it's mouth-piece is beyond me. Ru$h is NOT a entertainer, he's only a disgusting doper, and NOT of the harmless Cheech & Chong variety! ;)

Sharon M (1)

I would love to make a special comment but I would be too shocked, atl my advanced age, to see my thoughts in print. For months I had to liisten to RL daily because my boss liked to find out how to be as nasty with her comments. When she was asked to retire the whole office brightened up and work production increased without the daily dose of pollution. Any logical person would look up the meds and see what they were used for - unlike medication for men there are many uses. As for wanting to see pictures?????? I won't even go there.

Getting Rush Limpballs off the air would be the biggest victory ever for decent American citizens. He spews hate, and that isn't something we need. We need people who question and debate and use common sense, not people who spew hatred every second they are on the air.

Poor ol desperate Rush. Glennda Beck stole most of his crazy thunder for so long that even when Glennda;s insanity faded off the air waves into a bottomles pit of gold dust..fools gold that is. Rush didn't get the attention back that he was hoping for apparently so now he's decided to go all out with his misinformation and crazy off the wall insults [to be polite in my wording] an ignorence ...for the sake of the same mindsets that make up his listening audiance. I think he is a great example to all as to just how insane the majority of the rightwing extremist/evangelic and others who are more than a tad bit mentally unstable, that they really are. He certainly helps their GOP party to lose supporters that are not totally rightcrazywinger weak minded people.
He probably does more to convert many a christian to becoming atheist than they do the other way around without a doubt. A prime example of what his kind of Christianity is about ..enough so for many to decide to just say...NO.
He's is entertainment for the weak of mind and the lazy who blame everyone else for their problems. Cowards, racist, mental midgets, and hate moners all love his program as he makes them feel strong and in charge... which they are really none of. For those who share the same diminished mental capacities he brings their day dreaming to life within them, for he does express their views and that is what keeps him on the air.
I am not for banning him from the air waves personally, as he does put a super negative light on the likeminds he appeals to for all others to see. Like a warm day that brings the odor of cow poop to ones nostrals ,.with about the same effest to those that aren't into that kind of ..shall I say Kink. What I do favor is letting his sponsors know just how much damage the public can do to their profits by continueing their sponcering his trash and cowardly line of B.S. information and brand of disgusting comedy that he and those who mindlessly support him are so proud of, As it's said..B.S. walks but money talks..and that is the only way to end his B.S. walk via the air ways, I believe.

I have torn up my Auto Zone card and will never again make a parts or accessory purchase from their stores ever again, They were the only auto store that I've made purchases from for most of my adult life..which does come to a tidy sum over that many years. Doesn't matter if they stop advertising on his program or not for me...the fact that they thought it a good move for them to do so in the first place is no enough for me personally. I will certainly be very careful when I shop for flowers on line to make sure I never buy so much as a single rose from the ProFlower people ever again..which I've do so only once but never again. I hapen to be one of those people who when they decide to boycott's for the rest of my life. Makes it easier to not have to think about ..have they changed or not...for me...that doesn't's that they were jerks/F heads etc. in the first place ..enough so for a boycott to be called for in the first place. It is not as though Auto Zone, and his other sponsors,weren't/aren't aware of his appealing to those less fortunate with low IQ's, hearts of stone, minds filled with hate/fear/war mongering/chauvanist or women who just hate men and themselves and the over all weak of spirit who's souls are nothing more than black smoke, kind of people.

To whoever ask if he is still fat...I think that answer is few speed/meth heads are, if any.

I was absolutely astonished when I found the petition in my in-box yesterday. Rush and his ilk stay on the air by making outrageous allegations, but this particular instance of his bullying seemed to go so far beyond anyones definition of good taste that I really expected a universal condemnation of his actions. Imagine my surprise when reading a Yahoo article later in the day and noticing how much support for Limbaugh was voiced in the reader's comments. Yeah, the ditto-heads were ou in force to show their support by piling more classless trash on this poor woman. This limp-membered lard-ass is probably against anyone who can still have sex with the probable exception of the occasional Men's Room encounter of a conservative leegislator.

I have signed every petition that has come my way, he has now come out with a weak so called apology, I suppose on advice of his lawyers and his sponsors jumping ship. The weak somewhat apology by boehner was pathetic, his stupid remark that Democrats were partly to blame because they were asking for donations. Doesn't make any sense, but beginning to think anything out of a Republican's mouth never makes sense.

Dianna M (16)
Saturday March 3, 2012, 5:09 pm
I'm not really surprised that the GOP "leadership" has avoided discussing this issue. And to be honest, I'd rather listen to their silence than to their manufactured outrage. They've made their positions clear with every bill, every attempt to abolish every right our forebears have fought so hard for.

I'm sure they'll come up with a statement soon, blaming this whole situation on President Obama.

They've GOT to be mortified by this loose cannon! Only TROLLS are supporting him...and then, the arguments are just laughable. But, he's damaged himself with his mouth before and seems to have no problem making a "come back."

Gee,I wonder why your Liar=in=Chief didn't pick up the phone and ask Bill Mahr to apologize for
calling Sarah Palin the c word?? And why didn't he ask for an apology for stating "Jesus f....Tebow?"
Maybe because that sleeze bag Mahr gave the other con-artist a million-dollar=check??? Money
talks, BS walks! Rush is Mr. Clean compared to Mahr's filthy mouthings . ..does anyone recall that
slob calling Mrs, Barbara Bush a "Silver Douche Bag" = I'm sorry Rush caved. Too bad. Too sad

Rush is just a hate mongering comedian. I can't believe anyone actually listens to him and takes him seriously. His comments about the law student were ridiculous and offensive. He just really doesn't have a clue. His apology was an attempt to save face because of losing ad support not to truly condemn his actions or apologize to Fluke. The Repubs never call to task their own. It seems like the Dems don't either. When will our politicians stand up for what is right over political allegiance?

...the thing is that if Bill Mahr said what you say he did, he was spot on for starters. This young lady if not a 'public' figure and she did not promote violence as a poltical solition time after time in public speeches ,along with promoting the hunting of wild animals for '$port like $arah 'C' Palin. As for that F'n 'D'-head football glory for millions of Je$u$ and sucker dollars Tbow he was right on also. This young lady didn't say publicly....that poor, mostly black people, who'd just lost their homes, many of their loved ones and jobs ,were better off than they were before all that happened to them, while they were having to seek shelter in a run down unsanity sports dorm after floods destroyed their entire lives.... like that elites silver hair'd douche bag Barbra Bushler said publicly.

The kind of hate/violence/anti democray that Rush Limpballs sprews over the air waves daily can have tragic effects for children/teens and even adult as there are those who buy into his 'suggestions' as how to deal with minorities and women in general, which are off the charts when it comes to his brand of fake christian violent insanity.

The only thing.. sad ...when it comes to Rush Limpballs are his listeners..He sprews his Nazi-esque opinions for millions of personl bucks while his listeners do so because he is expressing their hate/homophobic/chavnistic/racist/fearful/cowardly/war mongering/anti democracy mindsets...

Thanks, Tom! I, too, have signed every petition on this that has come my way. Dandelion has a nice post out that gives info to contact advertisers...and several have already decamped from his program. I watched Ms. Fluke's testimony. Of course Rush hated her, she was calm. prepared, precise, and obviously intelligent, well educated and able to use research and experience to form her OWN opinions. One of the [female] senators on the unofficial hearing kept saying, "What is wrong with this picture?! The picture was of the panel for the official hearing. Not ONE woman on the panel...ALL men. Because as we "know," women are a minority of only 52% (Republican math) of the population and have NO knowledge of the needs their own bodies or lives and do not have the right to make their own decisions about those bodies or lives... Well, we can only hope that all of these dodos are digging their own political and professional graves!

Thanks again all. I noted a couple of complaints, earlier on, that Democrats are as bad covering there own in the face of scandal? That's not true.
