The Republicans have a new budget plan, in which they renege on the spending levels to which they agreed last year, when they blackmailed America with government shutdown. So much for good faith negotiations. Ryan’s new abomination is so draconian that it personifies class warfare: a Republican War on the Poor.

Hi Tom, You know its easy to renege on the poor, as they don not have the money to fight back or the time, they are working too hard, try to keep their family's in food!

How can you say the GOP is at war with the poor. They love the poor. They want more and more poor....that is over half of the reason they are trying to destroy birth control availability.

How true, Betsey, As a young child, I would ask my Mother - what is a Democrat? Her reply, well, most of the poorer people vote Democrat.

I wonder if they realize that in the contest for survival, the poor are extremely good at it...they rich are not. Some of us still remember how to live off the land, up in the hills, for very very long periods of time. A lot of what the poor know about surviving has been handed down by oral history. That hasn't completely died out, yet. The rich on the other hand have no idea what it is to survive...without electricity, without ipads, without servants, without money. They have no idea what it is to forage for a meal or grow it yourself or kill it yourself and then process it and cook it. We do. And the urban poor are a whole other ballgame that the afluent have no idea what they are capable of in an 'concrete jungle'. So, if they really want a war on the poor.......bring it on fools. I don't think they really, really, realllllllllllly wanna go there. :)

Some of us Remember what poor really is - most RepubliCONs don't know how to deal with it, other than to steal even more from us. Eventually the Bastille will be stormed & all we have to do is beat our plowshares back into swords.

I agree with Terrie Williams on this from a slightly different approach. One line from the old song, "Me and Bobby McGhee" runs through my mind ever so often. The line is "Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose". And the voluntary minimalism movement in the U.S. is growing . . .

The Republicans have been waging a war on the poor since I was a child. That is why they slur the democrats so ofter because they are who start programs to support the poor.

Of course they consider it a righteous war...they think they are the "Chosen Ones" as if it was God that made them rich.

The Republican/Teabaggers like Paul Ryan are nothing more than self agrandising Greedy Old Pharts. And for a group that proclaims Jesus Christ (we all know it isn't the real one!), they sure don't know the Beatitudes --- Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Jesus was for the poor and downtrodden of his time, not the self important Pharisees. To me, we are all capable of being Pharisees, but the Greedy Old Pharts have made an art form of being modern day Pharisees. They only see and do that which brings them more!

I agree. Republican supply-side pseudo-Christians are the Pharisees and Sadducees of today. If they real Jesus walked among us, they would crucify him.
