A completely unscientific poll of Politics Plus readers on whether Walker would be recalled.

Sadly enough, we were wrong. We trusted in the prevalence of common sense...

TC --- " I guess we underestimated the stupidity of US voters."

Let this be a very BIG lesson for November 2012! Don't sit on your hands! Don't give up! Work to make democracy work!

Vote Democrat 2012!!!!! Vote Obama/Biden 2012!!!!!

@ Susanne --- "We trusted in the prevalence of common sense... "
I often use the term common sense too, but as I read your comment, I was wisked back to something one of my university professors said when we were discussing ethics in Human Resource Management --- 'If sense were so common, we wouldn't be having this discussion.'

Good point! Thanks for sharing, Lynn!

However, I like this old definition of the term "common sense" because it speaks to all the senses: "The power of uniting mentally the impressions conveyed by the five physical senses, thus 'ordinary understanding, without which one is foolish or insane.'"

Thanks to all. Posting the results and moving on to a new poll is getting off it, John.

Thanks, Tom. After the Prosser election last time, I had no doubt that Walker would win, one way or another.

A couple of things to keep in mind: exit polls showed that 60% of voters thought that recall elections should be used only in cases of law-breaking, Obama holds a 7 point margin over Romney and the Democrats took over the Wisconsin Senate.

Voters were largely unaware of this:
Sources say Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker is Now the Target of Corruption Probe

Recall the Dummycrats who abandoned their jobs instead of Walker who sought to end crooked unions in Wisconsin. Barrett is a bum and his corrupt union buddies are traitors. Keep the few honest unions, toss the rest in Lake Michigan! Down with the libtards!

With more than 8-10 times the money (depending on who you heard last), Walker did have an edge. Amazing how short sighted, naive, and uninformed those who voted for Walker were. They really have no idea how their lives are going to be affected adversely, and by then it will be too late. Thanks TomCat.

Barrett was doomed from the beginning as the deck was horribly stacked against him. By law, he was prevented from accepting any donation over $10,000. from any one contributor. Whereas, Walker, due to an obsolete law had absolutely no restrictions on how much he could accept from anyone. Hence, Walker had close to 8 times the money at his disposal, due to this law and the stupidity of Citizen's United.

How can we claim to truly be a democracy when the laws governing the core of our democracy, "voting itself", are so unfair and unjust??? Here in Florida it's a horrible tragedy how our governor is trying to purge thousands and thousands of poor people, legitimate citizens, from the people allowed to vote. What he's been doing has been declared illegal and yet I heard he's still pushing forward with this corruption.

We absolutely need to re-elect Obama, and as many sane, caring, people to congress as we possibly can. And, sadly, there are few to none, sane, caring, people within the Party of Hate, the Greedy Obstructionist Party!
