Yay, my time was 5:15 for the puzzle, first time I beat the average :o)
That video is hilarious/tragic, and its best that you put the qualifier at the bottom: "notice to right wingers: this is satire" because you know how they like to run with crazy ideas.

Puzzle — 4:13 but the average was 6:12 when I logged in. Not that it matters — I still beat the 4:51 average too!

MoveOn — BP and big oil are ruining this planet and it's inhabitants. The Gulf, the Niger River delta, the North Sea, Prince William Sound, Alberta Rivers — and the pristine Arctic? I sure hope not!

Thomas Lopez — To quote the Bible (Deuteronomy) — "Choose life!"

Thomas Lopez should be held up as a hero for rescuing a man that was quite obviously in trouble. Perhaps 2 lifeguards should be in each section to ensure that if one is on a rescue, even within his section, that there is another to keep tabs on the rest of the swimmers. Heard the term "buddy system"?

This Jeff Ellis must be a Republican/Teabagger and heard the cry at the first GOP debate, which come to think of it was in Florida, yes? "Let him die!"

UpWorthy — "…the 1% and corporate criminals are now giving the virtually all of their "protection money" to Republicans and Republican PACs. That’s because most Democrats have stepped out for the 99%."
I couldn't agree more!

Cartoon — I hope that is prophetic indicating that his whole campaign is in the dumpster!

Love the BP video. Another benefit of Gulf seafood --you don't have to add cooking oil!

I can just imagine the rules and regulations outlined in the Jeff Ellis Management handbook for lifeguards: "If a swimmer is drowning in an area outside of your assigned area, let that person drown. We're not paying you to save people swimming in areas we're not paid to protect."

The Bill Moyers video is a must see! The Wall Street criminal, Citigroup, popularized the word "plutocracy" in this country and then went so far as to coin a variation on it --"plutonomy"-- an economic system where the privileged few make sure the rich get richer with government on their side.

Here are some excerpts from their "equity strategy" for their investors, entitled, "Revisiting Plutonomy: The Rich Getting Richer" as provided by Mr. Moyers:

"Asset booms, a rising profit share and favorable treatment by market-friendly governments have allowed the rich to prosper...[and] take an increasing share of income and wealth over the last 20 years..."

"...the top 10%, particularly the top 1% of the US-- the plutonomists in our parlance-- have benefited disproportionately from the recent productivity surge in the US...[and] from globalization and the productivity boom, at the relative expense of labor."

"...[and they] are likely to get even wealthier in the coming years. [Because] the dynamics of plutonomy are still intact."

Bill Moyers goes on to state:

"And so they were, before the great collapse of 2008. And so they are, today, after the fall. While millions of people have lost their jobs, their homes, and their savings, the plutonomists are doing just fine. In some cases, even better, thanks to our bailout of the big banks which meant record profits and record bonuses for Wall Street.

Now why is this? Because over the past 30 years the plutocrats, or plutonomists — choose your poison — have used their vastly increased wealth to capture the flag and assure the government does their bidding. Remember that Citigroup reference to "market-friendly governments" on their side? It hasn't mattered which party has been in power — government has done Wall Street's bidding."

A large corporation arrogant enough to provide such information to their wealthy customers must feel very secure. With all the "bought and paid for" politicians in their corner, why shouldn't they?

As I said earlier, this is an excellent video! Thanks for posting it, Tom!
