If the title of this article caught your eye, it’s probably because the question is completely absurd. That is not an issue for last century, let alone this one. But Republicans are trying to impose 19th century policies onto 21st century issues, and it goes so far that the de facto head of the GOP, who fear to disagree with him in public, and whose holy ring they kiss on demand, has questioned even this.

Everyone should be entitled to vote, of course. The only ethical difficulty is when you have to decide to give the vote to someone who, if elected, would deny you your right to vote.

This has long been an issue in countries with a history of far right politics.

Limbaugh is not the last word of the GOP as many would like to believe. If he was, he would be the front runner for the Presidency.
Yes, women historically vote with emotional, and maternal instincts. This is not a bad thing.Hillary Clinton, and Nancy Pelosi do not have this, as they are political animals. Condy Rice as more of this softness, and the ability to listen.
Indira Ghandi, and Gold Meir had this quality. I wish America could generate women like this.

I just love it when a man tries to tell us women we vote with emotional, and maternal instincts, especially a single man. Probably doesn't know anything about women period.

Wow, Allan you are more lost and confused than anyone could have ever imagined.

Women are equal to men, and they should have had the vote all along. When the founding fathers designed the government as 3 branches, they neglected the most important 4th branch, the Grandmother's Council. The Grandmothers would have the final say on all decisions. The Grandmothers are invested in the highest good for all because they are maternally connected.

I would recommend that everyone watch the movie TOUGH GUISE based on the nonsense of the macho model, the John Wayne nonsense of the rugged individual who Reagan was reminding the wishful men who believed in him so much about, and the false idea of the "good old days" of high morals and values that never actually were.

Its time to evolve, not devolve. But let me say that if Limbaugh and pack want to devolve and insist on it, they may, but not on this planet. We are not going to be able to sustain our world, let alone our country, if we stand divided down some party lines. Its not party lines that we should focus on, it is the person-----are they bent on the destruction or on helping the world? Right now, the Democrats are clearly the good guys and the Republicans.....well, to be blunt, they are purely evil.

From Wikipedia — "In the United States, women over 21 were first allowed to vote in Wyoming from 1869 and in Utah from 1870, and with the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment the suffrage was extended to women across the United States in time for the 1920 presidential election. Women over 21 were allowed to vote in New Zealand from 1893, in Australia from 1894, and in Canada from 1919. Women in the UK were given the vote in 1918 if over 30 and meeting certain property qualifications, and in 1928 suffrage was extended to all women over the age of 21."

Women's suffrage was an international awakening by women. The right to vote was hard fought for with women going to prison, and some dying for the rights that suffrage would bring. Modern women owe a great deal to these women, because without their protests and campaigns, we would not be where we are today. Women like Anne Coulter are a disgrace to our gender.

"…Ann Coulter told the New York Observer in 2007, “If we took away women’s right to vote, we’d never have to worry about another Democrat president. It’s kind of a pipe dream, it’s a personal fantasy of mine.”…" — Has anyone told Ann Coulter that if women lose the vote, so does she! What kind of rarified air is she breathing?

And Limbaugh — there is not a chance that he was joking! He is too much of a misogynist as are the Republican/Teabaggers with their war on women. I suspect Limbaugh (and other Republican/Teabaggers) is running a little scared because half of the voters are women and the GOP has done nothing but enrage women!

“When women got the right to vote is when it all went downhill because that’s when votes started being cast with emotion and maternal instincts that government ought to reflect,”

When I started voting, I made lists of issues and then did some reading to figure out where I stood, and where the various parties and candidates stood. Then I voted, informed! No emotion except when my chosen candidate did not win.

Vote Democratic 2012!!!!! Vote Obama/Biden 2012!!!!!

Yes, the title of the article is absurd. And Yvonne, in my circle of friends on Care2, we have discussed the possibility that you mentioned about Ann Coulter. We all agreed. It is a toss up who I dislike the worse- Rush, Ann, Palin and on and on.

Why hasn't Rush pack his bags and moved to Costa Rico like he said and take the rest of the clowns with him, Women had to fight for the right to vote and we intend to keep it and vote for the one that is best for our country no matter what Allen says.

You cannot currently send a star to Kit because you have done so within the last week. Dayum.....

Ya know what I'd love to see...just another of my myriad fantasies I have to amuse me through this miasma of an election season......I would LOVE to see a NATIVE AMERICAN WOMAN elected President.....see how long the GOP/Tbaggers/Libertarians last before their heads explode. They could not handle it. The Warmongers damn sure couldn't handle it....Lobbyists would turn to ash heaps....etc etc etc......sigh, yeah, it's a dream I have.

Of course, suggesting that 'the moment women got the right to vote, is when America went downhill,........', is not worth a comment.

It totally amazes me, how any intelligent woman or man, for that matter, would support this lunatic. The reason for his rhetoric, has no significance, whether it is for attention and the money that comes with it, or, if he truly believes it.
I hate to even mention his name.

If any woman tells you they enjoy listening to, and believe in this person, one must wonder how little self-respect they have for themselves. If this isn't self-loathing at its finest, I don't know what to call it.

Can't you just see him as a president of anything? How quickly would deterioration set in?

Charlene Rush (79)

To Terrie Williams: Your point, that you would love to see a female American Indian, as President is absolutely, maravelous.

Let's see now, I guess we would have to add another list for the Tea Party Republican GOPer's to hate:
Communists, Russians, Blacks, Women, Latinos, LGBTer's, Muslims, Liberals, and possibly American Indians.
The list just keeps getting longer and longer and longer.
They are driven by FEAR.

All I can do is shake my head in disbelief at how many men and women think that women are the root of all our problem since Eve ate that GD apple. However, it is my belief that it was actually that lying SOB Adam who ate the apple and, typical of the prevaricating first male and all to follow, shifted blame on to Eve.

If you vote for the Republican's you vote for the past. You vote that women are locked up into the kitchen. Cooking and giving birth would be their major rights. We live in 2012, so of course women are voting. Dear sisters : don't vote Rep's but Dem's if you care for women's rights !!

**Limbaugh’s comment is also a reflection of Republican attitudes toward voting, and why they are so eager to trample voting rights.***

This is old news. Rush said this MANY years ago.

At least Limbaugh is funny even when wrong (as he often is). The libtards are just disgusting, which is why you see far fewer libtard talk shows than conservaclowns. I'd see someone like Limbaugh - or Archie Bunker - wading into a race riot to put a stop to the killing - even if he disliked the victims' ethnic, political, or other beliefs, but I'd see the libtards hiding behind their windowblinds like they did when Kitty Genovese got murdered in NY City. Down with the Dummycrats and their sorry excuse for health scare deform!

Ann Coulter told the New York Observer in 2007, “If we took away women’s right to vote, we’d never have to worry about another Democrat president. It’s kind of a pipe dream, it’s a personal fantasy of mine.”…

Does she not realize she is also a woman, or maybe Yvonne has a point. Wouldn't that be the secret that all the Republicans could chew on, that they admired this woman who was really a

Why is this disgrace, Rush Limbaugh, still on the airways? He is the Jerry Springer of radio, only worse, at least Jerry tried to put a spin at the end of his program for something decent, sort of like learn from this, or at least that is what he did when I had watched my first and only program of his way back many many years ago.

It turns my stomach the crap that is on the airwaves and the television set, but, ok we don't want censorship. But when their foul mouth is trying to put my life back to the dark ages, I do take issue with it. Mary said he was moving to Costa Rica, the poor people there, but I think he'd do better in Afghanistan as they seem to be a place with little regard for women. But then those poor women have enough to deal with so I wish no more ill will upon them.

Rush is just a disgrace to the human race and as with everything else in this Country he gets well paid for it while the idiots that listen to him want to cut the teachers pay back and take benefits away. Is a real arsebackwards society we got going on. Fred is there no one you like?

I guess I'm not the only one who has doubts about Ann Coulter's sexuality. When I read her quote, “If we took away women’s right to vote, we’d never have to worry about another Democrat president. It’s kind of a pipe dream, it’s a personal fantasy of mine," it reminded me of a large sign someone was flashing as she spoke before a large crowd several years ago. It read, "Ann Coulter has a penis!" I haven't seen, read or heard about her making live appearances before large groups for some time now. If the signs aren't causing her to avoid crowds, maybe the attempts to shove a pie in her face did the job. Whatever the case, I'm grateful.

And Niu Q. and Chu Xian -- the names are as phoney as the products!

PLEASE click on "flag as inappropriate". It just takes a moment!
Care2 staff is being awfully slow in responding these days.
Nevertheless, we MUST keep on clicking on "flag as inappropriate" so that they KNOW!
No use talking to them -- but, FLAG THEM ON EVERY THREAD YOU SEE THEM ON!

Susanne: Ann Coulter doesn't have a penis, because it was amputated when she was a very young child {and had no choice in the matter}.
She will never admit this -- but it is OBVIOUS, that she was one of those rare beings who is actually born INTERSEX -- so that the doctors have a hard time looking at the outside of the baby, telling whether it is a boy or a girl. Rare, but it does happen. When you see the initials LGBTI -- that is for Lesbian, Gay, Bi-sexual, Transsexual, and Intersex.
It is obvious from her body type, Adams apple, size of her hands and feet in relation to her body, length of her arms and legs, hip movements, etc., that Ann was meant to be a MAN, in her physical gender.
However, back in those days, doctors arbitrarily decided that any baby without a "respectable size" penis, would be "unhappy as a man", so they cut off the too-small penis and gave the poor kids hormone treatments when they reached puberty, thinking that they, the doctors, were "creating" a girl!
You see, according to that thinking, "failed" males, are girls!
Ann probably has no female internal organs. She is of course unable to conceive.
This may be why she hates everybody so much! She hates her own body.....
Possibly Ann for a long time, didn't even know she was a boy -- her parents, who were religiously conservative, would not have told her! Maybe she is in denial even now!
Maybe she is "retiring' from Public Life because, as she ages, she finds it harder to project the "sexy blonde female" image she works so hard at.....
Imagine her with short hair and blue jeans and you immediately see a male......
If she wants to call herself by female names and pronouns, that's fine with me.....
The Ethical standard NOW, is supposed to be for doctors to not "play god" and to let the KID decide, at puberty, which sex they want to be....
Look up "Intersex", or "Hermaphrodite" {nowadays not the proper term].

@ BMutiny - They are real people and their business is real l (I have no idea why you think otherwise, It is surely foolish to advertise a non-business?).. But I do agree that Care2 support should wipe them before they get here. So what do we have to do to make unpaid ads go away?

Barbara Tomlinson (431)
Wednesday July 11, 2012, 12:43 am
John: Their "business" is to sit all day at computers putting ads in various places! They probably sit in rows in a closed room and get minimum wage, or piecework, getting paid for each ad they put in!
They are not "real" Care2 members, as they have no profiles -- if they did, we could flag the profiles too.
They work for a company, that works for the businesses -- that is what I think.
See, we have had hackers come in advertising OTHER businesses -- including sites that could have been Human Trafficking. And sleazy "dating" sites that were probably not safe! So, this is only the LATEST manifestation!
{When I said the products were "phoney" -- I meant, that I would be really surprised if they WERE actually Prada, etc.! Probably a real rip-off, at those prices! That is against International copyright law, too! So this is helping THIEVES....}
Thing is, Care2 USED TO listen to us and take care of it! NOW Care2 seems to be asleep at the switch!
Care2 CAN remove them AFTER they are on!
So, all we can do is keep Flagging..... and if anyone knows the address of Care2, e-mail or snail-mail or whatever.... PLEASE TELL THEM TO WAKE THE HELL UP.....!!!!!

Barbara Tomlinson (431)
Wednesday July 11, 2012, 12:53 am
If you want to know more about Intersex people, a good book is ''As Nature Made Him; the boy who was raised as a girl", by John Colapinto. He hated so much what happened to him, that he wanted to actually kill the doctor, but eventually committed suicide instead. A tragedy. This is off the subject.... but as long as Ann Coulter was mentioned.....
Ann may have a surgically-made vagina; but, again, not the "chemistry" of a female, or the internal organs. Must have wondered why she never menstruated. She certainly seems extraordinarily bitter..... she has said some abominable things, but one can pity her.... I can.
HER Catholic homophobic god played an awful joke on her......

What kind of rarified air is she breathing?"

Our own Lynn Squance quoted this in her response there. Yes, Nan L., this is old news, 5 years ago. Ancient history indeed. But do you think for a second that Ann or Rush have changed their minds? Do you think what has happened since 2010 in the 29 States that now have Republican governor's and legislatures gives any indication that they have changed their minds on this issue?

What they do not realize is that there is a revolution coming. A change in the power structure that will have women increasingly out in front in leadership roles, not leading as men do, but as women do. Men have run things forever and we can see what that has gotten us. Doing the same thing and expecting different results in the definition of insanity. Continuing to allow, vote men into positions of leadership and power, is insane. We are not capable of governing or operating businesses, for the most part, with our hearts not our wallets. We are incapable of putting the greater good before our personal interest and belief. And we honestly think we know best what everyone else should do, all the time, and in every country of the world. We are wrong. It is time for a change, a massive change, in leadership. We need women to step up here and now. There is a generation of young people born in 1990 and later that is coming of age now, they are very different than any that has come before and they are activists. When we turn the reins of power over to that generation things will change tremendously. In a good way. These are young people, many of them strong young women, with definite ideas about what has been done incorrectly and how to make our world a more inclusive place, one that challenges issues with ideas, not weapons. The time has come and I only wish I 'd be alive here to see it happen. I will see it, we all will, but this perspective is unique and there is little I'd like more than to see this transition happen in my lifetime. It won't, but a man can dream, can't he?

Barbara Tomlinson (431)
Wednesday July 11, 2012, 1:22 am
Ann Coulter is NOT a transsexual or a transvestite. {I went to the article, and the comments.}
Ann Coulter is a Hermaphrodite. Intersex is the modern term.
Ann Coulter is NOT "a woman in a man's body" -- she did not WANT to be a woman, or CHOOSE to be one.
She was TOLD she was one, at an early age, by very conservative Catholic parents at that.
It was IMPOSED on her. She felt stuck with it. Being socially a female, whatever the facts of her body are.
People finding skeletons in graves, can tell which sex it is, by width or narrowness of the PELVIS.
The way people walk, depends on how the leg bones work in the PELVIS.
You just watch her move.......
A transvestitie, or a Drag Queen, acts more "feminine" than most women do! They PRACTICE walking like women, which an actor can imitate!
Ann Coulter doesn't try to "imitate" women in her body movements -- she moves the way that is "natural" to her, which is, to move like a man moves.
She is not a "masculine" woman, either. She is just not a woman! She is a penisless man in a dress.
She could NEVER cut her hair and pass as a female after that! Her hair is a big part of her identity. {See how she swings it, touches it, etc., constantly.} It's like, "long hair makes you female". {I bet that's hair extensions, too. What if she had Male Pattern Baldness?}
I wondered, a while ago, how she would look aging...... grotesque, comes to mind.....
{At least, no menopause, for her!}

Rush passed the torch of head of the GOP to Colin Powell in 2009.

when he announced he was resigning as the "titular head of the Republican party." Then he appointed someone else to replace him.
"There frankly is someone far more qualified and capable and more in tune with the Republican Party than I," he said. "And that would be General Colin Powell. So now I pass the baton to Colin Powell as the titular head of the Republican Party."

Nan, No and yea and this has nothing to do with HCL. And women will have the vote in 11/6/12. The tea party seem to think attacking in the extreme will get them the middle. But what middle? With Rush calling the shots you can bet it has something to do with taking more rights away. Coulter has more of a follower just the rest of the GOP/Tea Party. nothing funny about that.
