Most who know me understand that I am not a big fan of Harry Reid (D-NV). I call him the Nevada Leg Hound, due to his propensity for whining, humping Republican legs, rolling over and giving up. I think that he should be replaced as Majority Leader with a Democrat woman or man that has a pair. However, that said, I have to give him credit where credit is due when he gets one right.

I still think about the PBS interview I saw months ago where a Republican from the Regan era said if our taxes were the same as when Regan was in office we would have no deficit! So in other words it is the republicans that gave us a deficit by not paying their fair share in taxes! Grrrrrr!!!!

Good for Harry Reid in getting his ducks lined up and for refusing a second vote proposed by McConnell. As Einstein said Information is not knowledge. The only source of knowledge is experience." Well experience tells me that there will be a Republican/Teabagger filibuster forcing a 60 vote super majority in order to pass. Let's hope that people remember this come November.

Vote Democratic 2012!!!!! Vote Obama/Biden 2012!!!!!

Reid has succeeded in keeping some proposed disasters the GOP wanted, including most bills from the House, from moving since many were unconstitutional or mere posturing without substance, etc. Filibuster reform is needed since the current rules were based on the assumptions that Senators would be ethical in their use and rarely do so.

Noted. Reid "promised" to change that filibuster rule on Jan. 1st--the only day you can change that rule...and he caved. NOW he grows a spine? It's become blatantly obvious that the Dems are just as beholden to Big Money as the reason why Congress' favorability is in the single digits. Congress is broken indeed--when I watch C-SPAN and see all House Reps voting as a block; meanwhile several Dems "crossed the aisle" to vote with Reps! The Senate can't get anything passed because Reid continues allowing Reps to "run the show"....and America....into the ground. Disgusting. I can only hope (again!) that Reid will continue to keep that spine straight...but I'm placing no bets.

Harry Reid seems to be a sweet man, and sadly so wrong for a leadership role. He's busted hump, the best he can bring, but we need someone with a tad more fire. I wouldn't be surprised if once we reelect Obama he doesn't step down or retire.

It's too bad (understatement) that so many of our (D) representation votes not for our policies and the good of their constituencies, but because of their commitment to their reelections and their next job in the private sector. They are not public servants, it is clear. What would be the point of commenting on GOP motives, deplorable.

We need to survive this election and then Kick Ass!

Thanks all. Lois is right about Reid caving in, but I think Runatik also makes an excellent point, that he means well, but lacks fire.
