Puzzle 3:56 when I finished sneezing my head off! Just call me Mademoiselle Butterfly! I am sure Patty will be Madame Butterfly!

MoveOn Rmoney "Trust me!" In those 2 words is enough manure to fertilise all the veggie gardens and fields of the entire nation! FDR knew Republicans. I'd say he knew they would only get worse as time went on. Either psychic or damn smart!

Agent Orange "The Marshall Plan (officially the European Recovery Program, ERP) was the large-scale American program to aid Europe where the United States gave monetary support to help rebuild European economies after the end of World War II in order to prevent the spread of Soviet communism. The plan was in operation for four years beginning in April 1948 . The goals of the United States were to rebuild a war-devastated region, remove trade barriers, modernize industry, and make Europe prosperous again." (from Wikipedia) It was even offered to the Soviets but they declined it, and included West Germany, Austria and Italy to name a few. $13 billion dollars in aid over 4 years.
So now, after 40 years, the US is finally ponying up to assist the Vietnamese in the clean up of the environmental damage. I am sure that the Vietnamese were not easy to negotiate with but too much time has elapsed. From Wikipedia:

"During the Vietnam War, between 1962 and 1971, the United States military sprayed nearly 20,000,000 US gallons (80,000,000 l) of material containing chemical herbicides and defoliants mixed with jet fuel in Vietnam, eastern Laos and parts of Cambodia, as part of Operation Ranch Hand. The program's goal was to defoliate forested and rural land, depriving guerrillas of cover; another goal was to induce forced draft urbanisation, destroying the ability of peasants to support themselves in the countryside, and forcing them to flee to the U.S. dominated cities, thus depriving the guerrillas of their rural support base and food supply.

United States Air Force records show that at least 6,542 spraying missions took place over the course of Operation Ranch Hand. By 1971, 12 percent of the total area of South Vietnam had been sprayed with defoliating chemicals, at an average concentration of 13 times the recommended USDA application rate for domestic use. In South Vietnam alone, an estimated 10 million hectares of agricultural land were ultimately destroyed. In some areas TCDD concentrations in soil and water were hundreds of times greater than the levels considered "safe" by the US Environmental Protection Agency. Overall, more than 20% of South Vietnam's forests were sprayed at least once over a nine-year period."

But it wasn't restricted to the Vietnam War nor to Vietnam. More from Wikipedia:

"In 1978, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency suspended spraying of Agent Orange in National Forests, due to a threefold increase in miscarriages in women living near forests that had been sprayed.

A December 2006 Department of Defense report listed Agent Orange testing, storage, and disposal sites at 32 locations throughout the United States, as well as in Canada, Thailand, Puerto Rico, Korea, and in the Pacific Ocean. The Veteran Administration has also acknowledged that Agent Orange was used domestically by U.S. forces in test sites throughout the US. Elgin Air Force Base in Florida was one of the primary testing sites throughout the 1960s."

Such catastrophic damage that was responsible, without doubt, for some of the devastating famines in Vietnam, but also horrendous health problems in the Vietnamese population, as well as American service persons. As I recall, there was denial of benefits to American vets for years, and still some are denied.

I found it both fascinating and disturbing to read the Wikipedia article on Agent Orange, a chemical manufactured by Monsanto and Dow Chemical. Here's the link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agent_orange .

And the political 'Agent Orange', John Boehner? May he and all his toxic minions be bounced from the Congress so that they can no longer poison the American people with their lies and obstruction.

You hit a nerve with this one TC. Sorry to be so long winded,

Trump Gag the guy at the gig! Better still, let Rmoney use his barbering skills that he learned in school on Trump!

Cartoon Perhaps a trip to the Bermuda Triangle aboard his yacht would be appropriate for Rmoney. The cancelled stamp on that stamp should be right on top of Rmoney's picture!

Love me some FDR like I love me some Bernie and Dennis! That's my 'Dream Team' for the Presidency....FDR, Bernie Sanders and Dennis Kucinich. Bernie as Prez, FDR as Veep and Dennis in charge of the Pentagon! Hey, it's my fantasy, I can dream all I want....it's all I have left to get through this farce of an election cycle this year.

My father was sprayed so many times with Agent Orange the three tours he was in county that he had a lot of physical problems that got a lot worse as he aged. Of course the military denied any culpability to the troops or to the civilians of Viet Nam. They still would like to and most times get away with it to the troops but now they have to pay up to the country of Viet Nam. There is some justce after all.

Mr. Fascism 101 Rmoney saying 'trust me' is like a crack ho telling a john that she doesn't have any STD's.....or The Donald saying he's never gone bankrupt 3 TIMES....pla-eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeze. That robo-puppet can't function if he can't lie 24/7/365. Trust him.......Rrrriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigggggght. NOT!

LOL on the Burmuda Triangle.......I'd like to send him and Queen Ann to.......Mars. Let them rule over red rocks, see if they can live on money for air, water and food. (EG)

A pre-made campaign ad for Obama. I would suggest this is better than the one's he's using. I liked it better when he just didn't respond to the negative crap. Democrats have long and proud history, if they remember that and stop trying to out republican, the republican/T's the platform is no mystery. FDR, one of a kind.

Great job on Blog Talk TomCat.

LOVE the clip of FDR! The antics of the Republicans were well understood even then! I wonder what he'd think of what that party's become if he were still around now...

Re: "Trump, known as an outspoken critic of the Obama administration and a pusher of the so-called birther issue, is set to be recognized as the 2012 Statesman of the Year by the Sarasota, Florida, Republican Party one day before the GOP convention opens in Tampa later this month."

2012 Statesman of the Year? Donald Trump? What an embarrassment to the majority of Sarasota's citizens! Another "black eye" for Florida --as though Rick Scott weren't enough!

Tom, I'm so sorry to hear that you may have suffered a silent heart attack. Please listen to your body! You have to take care of yourself, put yourself in the care of the best cardiologist you can find, and follow his or her advice. My brother-in-law ignored some vague symptoms he was suffering until he developed pneumonia and was forced to see a doctor. As it turned out, he had severe diabetes (which he hadn't been aware of and which wasn't being treated ) and had suffered three silent heart attacks. He had triple bypass surgery shortly thereafter and is doing great. The only risk factor he had was the fact that his mother suffered from diabetes and heart disease. We're all going to nag you, so don't even think about putting your health on the back burner or ignoring your doctor's advice!

Thanks for the FDR clip - that is one of the many reasons I love FDR and his marvellous Eleanor! Also that he said that he welcomed the Republicans hatred, as that showed he was doing the right thing - one of the things that President Obama has sadly appeared unable to grasp.

Nice toon! Off topic but funny. Don't you all wish this stupid campaign, and its supporters, would get off the attacks and get down to issues????
