I spent several year working in the opinion research field, so I usually dig below the surface into the methodology used. That can often be hard work, but every once in a while I get to see a a poll that’s just plain fun, because it gives me a good excuse to laugh.

It does make one pause, where do these people get information or is factual information the last thing they want?
From a 2008 edition of Daily Kos about Acorn:

Fact: ACORN has implemented the most sophisticated quality-control system in the voter engagement field, but in almost every state we are required to turn in ALL completed applications, even the ones we know to be problematic.

ACORN can't not turn in bogus applications. They are legal documents, no matter who brings them in, and they are required by law to turn them in no matter what.

Fact: ACORN flags incomplete, problem, or suspicious cards when we turn them in, but these warnings are often ignored by election officials. Often these same officials then come back weeks or months later and accuse us of deliberately turning in phony cards.

Fact: Our canvassers are paid by the hour, not by the card, so there is NO incentive for them to falsify cards. ACORN has a zero-tolerance policy for deliberately falsifying registrations, and in the relatively rare cases where our internal quality controls have identified this happening we have fired the workers involved and turned them in to election officials and law-enforcement.

So who has an incentive to falsify cards? Republicans who wish to use this to suppress votes.

Fact: Voter fraud by individuals is extremely rare, and incredibly difficult. There has never been a single proven case of anyone, anywhere, casting an illegal vote as a result of a phony voter registration. Even if someone wanted to influence the election this way, it would not work.

ACORN has registered over 1.3 million voters. Over 60% are people of color. This is a horrifying development for Republicans and the McCain campaign.

And since no one has ever been proven to successfully cast an illegal vote as a result of phony voter registration, the rabid hysteria by the right wing over this issue can only mean one thing - cover for their own crimes to steal this election.

Okay, I'm confused..this is the 2012 Election, right?? Perhaps TomCat the 5% represents those who cannot stand being affiliated with poor losers (i.e., ones who were raised with sportsmanship ethics)?

First, major kudos to ACORN! Stealing an election over two and a half years after they ceased to exist is a world record for political achievement, especially considering that the Republican Party, the acknowledged grand masters at election theft, failed to do so. — The SQUIRRELS were at it again!

As an alternative to the second result, let’s keep the states and let the traitors self-deport instead. — That's a hoot! A taste of their own medicine!

Finally, that 5% decrease means that the Republican Party has lost 13.5% of their numbers. How fortunate! May that trend continue! — And I wonder if this will translate into lower Faux Noise viewers? And thusly, more educated thinking Americans?!

Love your humour TC!!!

Just love the picture --- elephant with bat wing ears. Bat Shit Crazy!

Fox News continues to report on ACORN as though it still exists! They're making fools of their viewers...

Glorious news of the decrease in GOP/TP numbers – and typical of their probity to attribute things to ACORN that ceased to exist a coule of years ago! Thanks TC!

Its actually sad to realize how the poor republicans have been manipulated to believe the lies, and are now lost in insanity. Secession, seriously? I love the picture Tom, you are so clever.

Amen Yvonne.

Gloria, most of the polls were right in predicting Obama wins.
