Oh drat – just had my comment cancelled – my fault, after writing it but before submitting it, I looked at the Think Progress article (excellent by the way) on climate change and tornadoes and coastal communities. Ah well, I'm glad I read the article!

Poor TC – now the Chantix is making you not sleep! (Prayers going up for some rest for you) – I do hope it helps.

Loved the three helpful sentences from the New Yorker – perhaps we should include one in each email (!).

Yep, right out of Andy Borowitz yesterday:

Useful Phrases For The Surveillance State:

(The Borowitz Report)—In the event that the U.S. government is monitoring your conversations, here are some useful phrases to insert into your phone calls, texts, or e-mails:

I think the N.S.A. is awesome.

I just reread “Nineteen Eighty-Four”—it actually has a lot of good ideas in it!

There’s no such thing as a “bad” drone.

Sure am glad that I never talk to any foreigners.

I wouldn’t know the first thing about making ricin.

The Fourth Amendment is overrated.

If you ask me, Guantánamo is full of nothing but complainers.

Just changed my Facebook status from “Single” to “In a Relationship with America.”

I’m pretty sure my neighbor is cheating on his taxes.
*****

I hope things get better for you soon, TC.

Tom, Hang in there, you can do this, it is so important to your health and well being and we all want you here so stay with it please.

I'm not as upset as most are with the supposedly spying on us. I think much of it is hyped by the Republicons, the press and the guy who wanted all that attention, plus he likes Ron Paul, scary in itself. What I find disturbing is that he could get that information at the level he worked at.

Hello there, Mr. or Ms. NSA person! How's it goin for ya? Having a good day there in Big Brotherville? What's it like, working for the end of democracy? (Just trying to keep you from being so bored you start MAKING STUFF UP.) (Oh God I hope I haven't given you any ideas . . . )

Puzzle — 3:21 Damn! I missed the train! Well at least I have company!

The New Yorker — Your suggestion might just elicit further investigation since I don't think anyone listening is that stupid. Or are they? Thanks AB.

Think Progress — The Republican/Teabagger domnated Congress doesn't give a rat's ass about super storms, hurricanes, or tornadoes. And they care even less about the people that these events affect.

The solution, of course, is to cut neither NOAA satellites nor NOAA employees, but to cut Republican mandated welfare for the 1%. — AMEN!!!!!

I also say, cut the exorbitant salaries of the Republican/Teabagger congress critters.

Washington Post — And to finish your sentence "Rubio is for Latinos what Clarence Thomas is for blacks, and what Benedict Arnold was for early America.

Cartoon — Thank God, or whomever, that true love is blind!

So many colors in that cartoon I can't read it. You're tripping on that Chantix TC. Be well.

Thanks, Tom. My only comment would be that rather than "rob Peter to pay Paul," NOAA shouldn't have to cut anything. Just shift over some of the money they're using to spy on us...I'm sure they could find a couple million, at least.
