Really? Howard Dean or Hilary Clinton? That's our choice? Don't we have someone in their fifties?

I like Elizabeth Warren.

The only person with international experience and connections is Hilary Clinton as former Secretary of State and First Lady. As for Dean, people tend to view him somewhat from a "murky" point of view. Now, with Elizabeth Warren emerging into the forefront of politics, she seems to be an excellent choice as well.

Are there any other candidates out there worth considering? Please list/mention them. Thanks.

Ty, Tom.

As far as 2016 goes, to me the perfect ticket would be Hillary Clinton and Elizabeth Warren. Two strong, intelligent women who would not only be highly capable in government matters, but they would also have the guts to deal with the GOP insanity and nastiness. This is one area where I've always thought Obama was too naive... he sincerely thought the Republicans would first and foremost want to do things in the best interest of the country. Silly man!

Puzzle 3:24 I'm a bit slow because as I worked the puzzle, my mind was drawn to a lime, raspberry and pineapple fresh fruit sorbet. I think I will stop and get one on the way to my mother's today and celebrate the solstice. Hmmmmmmmmmmm! I can taste it now!

KGO-TV Warren and Merkley for 2016!?

The Hill With so much nastiness from the right towards undocumented people from south of the US border, you have to wonder why they still come. Will it pass or has the farm bill set a new standard in duplicity? And I suppose that reference to "politeness terrorists" was put there for my enjoyment? Well wait until we start lobbing poutine and frozen hockey pucks over the border! You won't think of us as 'polite' then!

Washington Post Maybe a ticket of Warren and Merkley, one from the east and the other the west?

Cartoon The Weeper of the House looks like he is getting hammered!

I was one of those small contributor's to Elizabeth's campaign last year. And I live in Minnesota, not Massachusetts. I would LOVE to see her become our first female president. I am bit conflicted about that because she is doing such a marvelous job in the Senate and we need her there too. But she would be a wonderful president and she has enough humility to not let a couple of terms there retire her. Maybe she could come back to the Senate. :^). But I really do think she could galvanize the progressive voters like no other in 2016. I'd enjoy that campaign a lot.

Tom, great cartoon. Perhaps Boner is aiming to hit himself in the head with that gavel, might knock some sense into it, then again probably not.

@ Judy B - Yes!

@ Gene Jaconson - "you cannot currently send Gene a star"

Thanks everyone.

I'm a big Warren fan too, enough so that like Gene, I contributed to her campaign from elsewhere. She needs time in the senate to demonstrate her ability beyond the financial realm, gain enough exposure to penetrate the ignorance barrier, and overcome the perception that she's just an academic. Assuming a Dem wins in 2016, I'd say 2024.

Does anyone else remember "John of Orange"
accepting that "large" gavel from the petite yet
imminently more powerful Ms. Pelosi?

He already said no, Jason. I remember James.
