Lt. Governor David Dewhurst has definitely has 'lost it" on the subject of arresting Leigh Larson
for “disturbing the peace” and “inciting a riot.” For Singing a song...?

After Obama made his speech on emissions, House Republicans, the pukes, responded by moving a bill out of the Appropriations Committee that would cut investments in renewables by nearly a billion dollars.

The CEO and their board of directors keep hefting their salaries, once again, with an
increase of 16 percent. The poor and middle classes keep getting poorer and poorer.

The Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty kept exterminating the human race and everything in
the Planet from non-existence.

Ty, Tom.

"From NY Times: According to an updated analysis, the top 200 chief executives at public companies with at least $1 billion in revenue actually got a big raise last year, over all. The research, conducted for Sunday Business by Equilar Inc., the executive compensation analysis firm, found that the median 2012 pay package came in at $15.1 million — a leap of 16 percent from 2011."

This really amused me. Well, that's not quite right, it pissed me off. The middle class hasn't received a total of 16% in THIS entire century, most would be at less than 10% total, that plus losing half or more of the value of their homes and retirement plans. Occupy Wall Street would have been done better by Robin Hood - at least then they might well have returned some of that money stolen from the middle class and the poor TO them. These who get that kind of raise annually like to point at the middle class and the poor as feeding at the public trough, except of course career politicians, well these are feeding directly from the blood of the middle class and the poor, disabled and elderly. What good could have been done with that money. I mean, do they really need another house or boat or whatever they spend it on? I have this picture of them sitting in their large panic room vaults counting it like Scrooge McDuck, with whom they have a lot in common and I don't mean just their looks and attitude...

Is it the Mad Cow disease? Is that what makes these Texans so darn crazy lately?

Gene, I'm with you - it might be funny if it weren't so aggravatingly horrible - CEO's make more and more money and meanwhile, students will be paying double interest rates on loans. The damn CEO's can buy more designer clothes, more expensive knickknacks, and fancier cars while the rest of us worrying about how we will buy groceries. I wish I could be above it all and say "bless them" but I'm too angry and what I'd really like to say isn't printable.

Puzzle — 3:40 Who would have thought that a diabetic would race towards candy?! Actually, the colours remind me of the fresh fruit sorbet that I occasionally indulge. Given today's heat (hotter than yesterday) I think I'll take a trip to the gelato store in my air conditioned car.

Freak Out Nation — Having watched the tape of the singing, if that is "inciting a riot", then I am Santa Clause! She, and those there in the rotunda were exercising their constitutional right to free speech and peacable assembly. Dewhurst and his cronies should be arrested for falsifying a legislative vote. Dewhurst isn't interested in democracy (other than the restriction of), only POWER, CONTROL, and GREED. The Lt Governor and all Texas Republican/Teabagger politicians are demonstrating why the SCOTUS decision on the VRA needs to be overturned (however that can legally be done).

Think Progress — Well for sure Boehner will bring it to a vote and it will pass the House. But even though it is an appropriations (money) bill, it still has to pass in the Senate and go to the POTUS, correct. These lame assed Republican/Teabaggers are going to be the death of the US and global security.

NY Times — . . . while many struggle on minimum wage jobs, 2 and 3 jobs yet still can't make ends meet, are unemployed and having social benefits like SNAP cut off. There is something definitely wrong with a society that measures success solely in terms of the almighty dollar!

Cartoon — India, Pakistan and Israel never signed the treaty. North Korea ratified the treaty on 12 December 1985, but gave notice of withdrawal from the treaty on 10 January 2003 following U.S. allegations that it had started an illegal enriched uranium weapons program, Iran signed the treaty but was found in non-compliance with its NPT safeguards agreement and the status of its nuclear program remains in dispute.

Canada has signed the treaty but does not have, nor does it house any nuclear weapons for other nations on it's soil. The City of Vancouver (I live in Metro Vancouver) declared itself a nuclear weapons free zone many years ago.

Dewhurst and Abbott must be running really scared
to blatantly and publicly state they are willing to abuse
their power of office over someone singing a song.

Imagine, getting arrested for singing. (Or thrown off a train for singing.) On the other hand, I have coworkers who've started caterwauling along with the crap on the stereos . . .

While I agree with those who blame the GOP for these horrible bills, when talking about Congress you must notice the vote tallies. It is far too often that many House Dems vote with the GOP. It's a rare circumstance so far when many member of the GOP vote with Dems. We have a completely corrupted Congress...both parties. It was bad before Citizens United, now it's just a game of who (Koch) or what Corp. will come up with the most cash.
As for the singing, geez! They're really battening down the hatches on our liberties now. Ramping it up. If we don't get massive amounts of people either in the streets, or burning up the phone lines to Congress and the White House, the deep trouble we're already in will soon be too deep a hole to dig out of. The complicit media is beginning to rot from the inside a bit, at least...with the Snowden story causing a fracture. That's the best news. Now, I just hope we can find that poor man a home!

Well, Chase's bottom line is looking better and better since they decided SNAP debit cards aren't enough, they need to hand out incentives to fast food franchisees to pay their employees' wages with Chase debit cards. Of course with fees for everything. So Jamie Dimon probably thinks he is worth it. I won't say what I think he is worth. Petition at If it brings up my email just take it out and put yours in.
