Not long ago, Harry Reid, aka the Nevada Leg Hound, humped a few Republican legs, whined, rolled over, and played dead, because he reached a “gentlemen’s agreement” with Mitch McConnell, aka Bought Bitch Mitch, over Presidential nominees. At time, I said it could not last, because gentlemen’s agreements require honor and integrity, a quality completely lacking in the Republican leadership. Here we go again!

If Rand Paul wants to actually make another "talking" filibuster, then talk away. That is at least what a filibuster is by the rules. He needs to remember that a filibuster is not successful until he has 60 votes, not 51. It would be good to see some "new meat" in both houses after the 2014 election, it's time to sweep out these guys with some new blood. Though unless the democrats get busy, the results may not be what is desirable.

Eventually stupid will expand to the point of implosion and then maybe some of the clowns will drop off the map and into a deep dark hole they dug themselves

I would hate to see the filabuster gutted. Sooner or later these goons are going to get back into power again then we wont be able to stop them. You may not agree with me, but you may live to wish you had.

"There's pressure on Republicans, yes, to stop with the obstruction already. But now there's equal pressure on Democrats to make them stop. This isn't going to end until they do."

We already knew this was going to happen because Harry Reid is so gullible, making agreement after agreement with the SOB Republicanus/Teabaggers who have no honour.

Harry, use the nuclear option. It will help your constipation!

The very idea of expecting a politician to keep his/her word is well, silly. Not unlike pretending one can have a real safe relationship with a tiger - just ask Roy Horn. Politicians change their minds between towns on the campaign trail, give one speech supporting something and another opposing it within a half hour of each other. The very idea that you can trust THIS batch of republicans to hold to their word is ridiculous. Harry Reid is going to go down in history as one of the weakest Senate majority leaders ever. He HAS options, he just refuses to use them, which actually makes me wonder sometimes just what side he is really on. If he's got the votes to do away with the filibuster, the most ridiculous parliamentary maneuver ever, then DO it and do this country the great favor of getting rid of the most unreasonable roadblock in the Senate. Or keep repeating history over and over and expecting different results - insanitea as TomCat would call it. Properly.

There aren't enough "gentlemen" in D.C. to have a Gentlemen's Agreement! Corporate Democrats are only one step above a RepubliCON anyway..Filibuster as "god" intended you useless, lazy ba$tards! Don't text, tweet, or phone it in - WORK for your kickbacks & general graft (we already Know you don't work for your Paycheck!)

The filibuster should remain, but for it to be successful you should have to represent 45% of the country, not 16% like the first few hundred did.

Isn't Reid old enough to die a natural death yet? With rigor at both ends of his body, one would think so. Pelosi to follow ... I can only imagine.

I wonder how much of this insanity "reasonable" Americans are going to stand? Will 2014 be a turning point or will there be a rush of GOP Congressional activity to lull voters into complacency and make them forget the last 6 years of utter BS and self serving inaction?

HOw much longer do we have to put up with Harry Reid? Surely someone in the Dem party could fill this job better than he does. He knows McConnell can't be trusted.

Doesn't the GPO/Tea Party realize that putting another halt to businees in Congress will alienate even more voters?? My Mom the Republican, was even sick and tired of her party...and the Democrats, holding everything up. It'll be interesting to watch public opinion this time. Noted and thanks.

Lol, Phil P., agree with you on the "...the last 6 years of utter BS and self serving inaction" but don't forget the preceding Bush years of horror - and hope that American voters remember them ALL well enough to avoid electing Republicans like the plague they've proven to be!

Would give anything to see Mitch McConnell do a 13 hour filibuster a la Wendy Davis, the old fart would not be able to do it without potty breaks, standing on his feet or leaning etc.. Heck he would drop dead at the 11th hour. Damn that was wishful thinking on my end! Gentlemen s agreements require MEN not petulant, whinny arse wipes like McConnell!

This is starting to play out like a Hollywood script ... comedy ... because no one in real life is as stupid as Harry Reid

They should limit the filibuster to the Texas
Senate standard. Most wouldn't last four
hours as they don't have the strength of
conviction.
