I always considered the dollar gender neutral. I know there are honest dollars and dishonest dollars, but the idea of male and female dollars never occurred to me. However, Republicans now consider female dollars to be those with no value, and are using Rupert Murdoch’s media empire, an adjunct to the Republican Reichsministry of Propaganda, Faux Noise, to spread the word. Paul Krugman brought us this:

Money, dollars, marks, francs, lira, whatever.....have no 'gender', only people assign gender to it. Like you, Tom, money to me is gender neutral. But what does one expect from Bagger Fascists, of course they place lesser value to no value whatsoever on ANYTHING female....including dollars.

That is the most twisted, insane, moronic thing that I have heard in a while.
I'll take all the Susan b.Anthony, and sacajawea dollars they don't want happily off their crazy hands.
Unbelievable! Thanks TC

…………… WHAT???! You have got to be kidding me! What a giant load of fertiliser the GOP/TP are talking now - it must be the only shot left that they have to level at her in order to get one of their Right Wing nutjobs in the job instead!

"Instead of male and female dollars, they should be considered Democratic and Republican dollars, the former going to meet the legitimate needs of the American people, and the latter, to squander on the greed of the 1%"
+++++++++++++++++ AND...to build an OLIGARCHY!
Winn..."Who listens to republicans?" Unfortunately, they don't care that nobody's listening (except FAUX "news.") They just keep on lying, distorting and obstructing.

Ahhhh hahahahahaha!!! Good one Kit!!! And, just how many household budgets are implemented by the female in the family and not the male? A lot that I know of. What a bunch of BS. How do they come up with this stuff???

"The editorial took it for granted that the Fed has been following disastrously inflationary monetary policies for years, even though actual inflation is at a 50-year low. And it warned that things would get even worse if the dollar were to become merely “gender-backed.” I am not making this up."
I believe you and am not surprised, we knew this was coming. First, the money men would attack anyone Obama nominates and second despite her sterling qualifications, Ms. Yellen because of her gender. I think the votes are there for confirmation and hope the President follows through. We need her and she is that important to the country right now despite the frothing from the reich wing.

This pernicious misogyny is going to drive the country to the brink of destruction. It should not matter male or female — all that should count are the qualifications and the record of experience.
When I was a teen, my mother told me that trust is earned. As I demonstrated that I could be trusted with certain things, then the reins would be loosened. As I continued to build my abilities and thinking, the reins loosened more. This is no different, only the stakes are higher.
…distinguished academic work, leader of the Council of Economic Advisers, six years as president of the San Francisco Fed, a record of working effectively with colleagues at the Board of Governors.
The Wall Street Journal … recently surveyed the forecasting records of top policy makers at the Fed, whom it divided into “hawks” (officials who keep warning that the Fed is doing too much to fight unemployment) and “doves” (who warn that it’s doing too little). It found that the doves made consistently better forecasts, with the best forecaster of all being the most prominent of the doves — Janet Yellen.
I have oft said, if you want a job done right, ask a woman. Now I know that sounds like I am against men, but I am not. But too often, women are discounted as emotionally unsuited to making the hard business decisions. BS! Women make difficult decisions every day. What is important is the level of experience and qualifications which are built up over time. So far Alan Greenspan and Ben Bernanke have not done such a hot job. It is time to pass the reins to a qualified and experienced leader, Janet Yellen.

I suppose Congress is going to set the value of certain dollar coins at, oh, 73 cents now.
Honestly, this is ridiculous--or would be if the political Right weren't going to use it in some twisted scheme to take over the entire financial system. Perhaps in a supposed effort to "protect" the economy from "mismanagement"--mismanagement of which the Right is the primary perpetrator, mind you! I'm only guessing at what they might be planning to claim, of course, but I wouldn't put it past them. Anything to make the current President (the rightfully elected leader of the most powerful nation on this planet) look bad.

Republicans now consider female dollars to be those with no value, and are using Rupert Murdoch’s media empire, an adjunct to the Republican Reichsministry of Propaganda, Faux Noise, to spread the word.
This seems to sum it up.
From 2007 to 2011, presidential $1 coins were minted for circulation in large numbers, resulting in a large stockpile of unused $1 coins. Since 2012, new presidential coins are only being minted for collectors, in order to reduce the stockpile.
The dollar coin has proven to be unpopular as they resemble the size of the 25 cent coin. The distinctive gold color is what gives it a distinguished look. The dollar coin is slightly bigger, thicker
The g o p pukes have nothing to worry about "female" coins anymore as they are just nitpicking.
They are being their usual self with "Misogynist Attitudes".
Congress and the mint department should have considered a size between the quarter
and the old Ike dollar coin. But, then it would have clashed with the half dollar coin. There is one coin that has more monetary value than two other bigger-sized coins and it is the "dime" vs the penny and nickel. lol..

OK, can we stop blaming the 1% for everything? In fact it's about 1/3 of the one % who are responsible for all this crap. The other 2/3 are on our side. The problem is that mostly they're honest and don't believe in buying politicians. For once I'd like to see them start doing what I bitch about the others doing. In fact, wouldn't it be delicious to see them buying up the Republicans and to watch the Republicans trying to spin how they got religion and realized how long they'd been doing Satan's work and how sorry they were for their stupidity and that they now understand people are more important than corporations.
