Scott Lively, a Republican Supply-side pseudo-Christian, has been one of the driving forces behind the Kill the Gays Bill in Uganda. Gay Ugandans just won the right to sue him in the US for that role. The government in Uganda, still trying to put it in place, is dominated by “The Family”, the same organization so popular with Republicans and very few DINOs, operators of the infamous C Street House.

Hi looks as if he is a killer. Why hasn't anyone taken him out yet?

Good - he should surely be imprisoned as he is inciting others to violence.

Putin should be sued too.

Russia is just awaiting the arrival of Scott Lively, he'll fit right in. That is until he attempts to open that big mouth on anything more than his rants and venom about the LGBTQ community. I bet he holds secret desires to kill more than just gays.

Thanks TC

Exporting this kind of hatred shames our entire country; I'm glad his victims have been given their day in court to strive to hold him accountable.

Barely knew much about Uganda
What I am learning is frightful, child armies
Gays being ostracized, not a place open to progress
I actually have a care2 friend from Uganda, have never heard from him since 2011, hope he wasn't executed for being on care2..scary place to live!
Thanks TC for shining some light into a dismal country

It's not really UGANDA, Tasunka....it's just that there's a culture of tribal hatred which people like this Lively fellow find to be welcoming to his kind of poison.

Dave C ... the thought of a real Christian minded individual. Not many out there like that, obviously. With all the BS that is happening everywhere, thanks to teapukes, it feels as if, now that the gates of stupidity have been opened, all hell is breaking loose.

People like Scott Lively believe so deeply in their convictions that they wouldn't think of repenting and asking for forgiveness fom any Higher Power. Meaning...they won't go up, but down to the blazing pits. Wonder what Mr Lively would say to the Devil?? Maybe the big bad D wouldn't even want him.

Terrie - have a very graphic picture i my mind and I smile every time I think of the line forming behind Mr Lively...pun intended.

Well, that's just not right. THEY get to sue, but WE have to just put up with them? Plus, our tax dollars go to some of these 'pray the gay away' conversion therapy centers in the form of Medicaid!

He doesn't just border on ludicrous, he fell off the deep end of demented!;) I hope he gets sued so bad he bleeds! Can't the World Court prosecute him for war crimes? "They are seeking damages, a finding that Lively violated international law and an injunction against future efforts to persecute their organization and community...Lively is one of the most virulent anti-gay activists on the scene today. He authored the infamous revisionist history The Pink Swastika, which claims that homosexuality was at the root of the Nazi Party and Holocaust. He makes similar claims about the Rwandan genocide. Judge Posner described (pdf) these arguments as “bordering on ludicrous” in his Wednesday ruling…"

Put this guy and his associates away. They aren't Christians and are just horrible people. Inciting violence and even death against others should be a punishable crime. These kind of people shame the entire human race.

As proposed in one of your earlier pieces TC, the Americans involved, Lively etc, were using Uganda as a test for wider legislation that they hoped would become law in the US. All those who helped write the legislation should also face some sort of sanctions.

And by Bahti's words, although not a direct quote, the only good LGBT member is a dead LGBT member. The intent is there and Lively et al helped to create the intent and the legislation. That is intended genocide. I think the Lively should be tried in the International Court at the Hague. The ruffle that I can see so far is that it was intent but not actioned, yet. For that reason, filing suit against Lively in the US might be the best way for now to lock up this bastard and put the rest on notice.

Bahti's statement that they are protecting children is so insulting. Children have more to fear from these right wing evangelical psuedo Christians than any member of the LGBT community. These pliable children's minds are being warped by hate, not unlike the child soldiers. Onward Christian soldiers. Oh how I hate that song and its violence.

Thanks yo all. If you didn't get a star for this, I could not give you one. Great comments.

Special kudos to Lynn, because she invested the time to dig bach into my earlier articles on this subject to discover the depth of the connection between this and the Republican Party. I consider this a test case. If they can get away with this in Uganda, where they have already established a Republican Regime, they will do it here, if they can establish a Republican Regime, where elections are only for show.

It's so scary to see this particular kind of hatred in the US turn into an export product to other countries. As if it wasn't bad enough that it ruins so many lives in America, now they came very close to actually getting gays killed.
Putin is not a communist as far as money is concerned (he's one of the richest men, I believe), but will also have no qualms with the religious babble of mr. Lively, so It wouldn't surprise me at all if there was a link between them.

"They are seeking damages, a finding that Lively violated international law and an injunction against future efforts to persecute their organization and community."

Then, after he is found to have done all these things, trial in the World Court or a United States Federal court for having incited to violence and having cost the lives of people murdered as a result of his campaign. This man embodies Nazi principles perfectly, he and Hitler should do time in the same cell so alike are they. That would be just. Since we can't arrange that, a cell of his own for crimes against humanity will have to suffice.

Yes, I was also questioning the concept that he is "bordering on ludicrous," he's way beyond that!
I love the idea of him in jail, with people "lining up behind."
Perhaps this clown fits into the same category as that other persecutor of gays, J. Edgar Hoover, whose vehemence was just a cover for the sexual orientation of which he was so (mistakenly) ashamed.
Dave C's remark, "Who would Jesus kill????," just is just so spot on!
